Midian reluctantly stepped closer to Izona, and grabbed a hold of her tail, which coiled around her arms. Midian let out a shriek as Izona started to lift her into the air, and kicked out. The boss grabbed a hold of Midian's coat and hurled her back down, before snatched at Izona's front legs. Together, they both awkwardly frogmarched Izona back to her room, in spite of her howls and screams of protest.

'Um, if Experiment Izona bust the door down, then how are we going to seal her back in?' Midian asked.
The boss growled, and unravelled Izona's tail from Electrothanasia's arm, before giving her a dark look. He shoved Izona through the open doorframe, standing in the way, before giving Midian a nudge.
'I'll take care of this myself. Go back to Kasuka,' he ordered.

Aizel could feel his heart hammering when the strobe lights went off, and the klaxon silenced again. He could hear footsteps outside his room; was it Evangeline, or was it Lella? Maybe even both, with Raven?
He kept his eyes fixed to the door as it opened, and his heart sank again when Electrothanasia strolled back through. He sighed silently, and rested his head back on the table.
Figures...
'Nothing like getting some exercise, huh?' Midian asked, stepping back over to Aizel.
'I wouldn't know, I've been strapped to this table for days now. So why don't you tell me?' he hissed, eyeing the bite mark on her throat. He noticed that her stomach was bleeding as well, and his glowing eyes narrowed curiously.
'Alright then, I will. There's nothing quite like getting some exercise.'

'What set the alarm off?' he asked, figuring that it was Raven, Evangeline and Lella.
'One of the stronger experiments got loose,' Midian replied, before realising that she was still waiting on her colleague. She sighed impatiently, irritated. 'Experiment Izona got loose.'
A small shiver of fear ran down Aizel's spine at her words; what had happened to his friends? Had they met Izona? Were they okay? Did they even survive...?

'What happened?' he demanded, his voice snappish, desperate for information.
'b***h broke the door down, by the looks of it,' she replied. 'The boss is sorting it all out now.'
'What, and that's it? Nothing else happened?'
'An experiment got loose, rampaged a bit, and has now been restrained again. That's all there is to know,' Midian replied, frowning suspiciously at Aizel. '…Why so interested?'
'Just curious.'
'So you saw your guests then, huh?' she suddenly questioned.
'I don't know what you mean.'

'Don't lie to me, Kasuka. There was a trio of intruders who met Izona, but I bet you already knew that, didn't you?'
'No,' he stubbornly lied, as a small sphere of fire flickered out of his palm, in his irritation at Electrothanasia.
'One of them referred to you by your pre-Karestra name,' she added, resting one hand on the table on which he was still bound to. She loomed over him, staring into his luminescent eyes. 'Aizel, wasn't it?'
'Get lost,' he growled, as a second, stronger fireball zipped into the far wall.
'Kasuka, you're going to be stuck here with me for a while. At the very least, we should try and get on together.'

'If you want to get on with me, then you can at least call me by my name,' Aizel retorted, lips curling back, baring his somewhat unthreatening teeth.
'But Kasuka is your name now. Everyone stops using their birth name when they enter this building. I stopped being Midian Sevier when I entered here, just as you stopped being Aizel…sorry, what was it again?'
'Aizel Izon,' he grunted.
'And you stopped being Aizel Izon the moment I guided you through the doors.'
Midian straightened up again and turned to the door when she heard a gentle knocking. She strode across the room to open it, and saw the colleague that she had been waiting on.
'Sorry it took me so long to get back to you,' she immediately apologised.

'It's fine,' Midian sighed, holding a hand out. 'The sample?'
'Here it is,' the woman said, pressing the sample into Midian's hands. 'One of the experiments got loose, so I got a little sidetracked…'
'Mmm, I know, I ended up wrestling with the beast,' Midian conversationally responded.
'Eurgh, rather you than me,' the woman shuddered.
'Yeah, it wasn't the most fun I've ever had in my life.'

Their conversation was interrupted by a series of grunts and gasps from where Aizel lay. Placing the sample down safely, Midian snatched up her pen and clipboard, watching him closely, as his body began to tremble and convulse. His orange eyes widened, as his back arched, mouth wide open in a cry of pain. His muscles tensed, his feet knocking against the shackles, trying to kick them off.
An unbearable pain surged through his forehead, as though his entire cranium was about as fragile as an eggshell, and about to be smashed. His hands balled into fists, and he closed his mouth again, gritting his teeth.
'God – ******** – damn it!' he shrieked, as a solitary, crystalline tear streaked down his face, and trickled onto the table.

Something burst forth from the very top of his forehead, followed swiftly by two more growths. They stretched out, and curled back slightly, a few drops of blood making their way down his face, and a few moments later, he had three glistening black horns protruding from the front of his skull.
'…Have I come at a bad moment?' the woman asked, looking cautiously at Kasuka with wide eyes.
'It's alright, just a delayed reaction to an experiment young Kasuka here is participating in,' Midian replied, looking away from the boy who was now staring blindly up at the ceiling. It seemed as though the sprouting horns had rendered him brain dead. 'Thank you for the sample.'

The woman gave a nod, and with one lingering look at Aizel, turned on her heel and very rapidly took her leave. Midian, on the other hand, ignored Aizel, and plucked up the sample. She examined it for a bit, and saw that the notes which came with it had identified the chemical as something known as "RFX". With a curiously raised eyebrow, Electrothanasia gazed at the motionless Aizel.
'When you get your mind back – if you get your mind back – we shall see what you can tell us about RFX…'

Midian wandered back into the room a few days later, and saw that Aizel was still out cold; the addition of horns to his form seemed to have drained the life out of him.
'Jeez,' she grumbled, heading over to him, and giving him a hefty prod in the chest. No response. Instead, she slapped him across the face. 'Kasuka! Wake up!'
Aizel immediately jerked to life, roaring and snarling like an enraged animal. He started to sit bolt upright, until the shackles that were still holding him in place became taught. His luminescent eyes sparkled and narrowed dangerously, as he tried to bite Midian's fingers. The woman herself, however, had taken a giant leap backwards, out of the way; Aizel's sudden actions had startled her. He settled back down a moment later, and gazed up at the ceiling.
'I feel different,' he announced.

'Different how?' Midian inquired.
'My head…it feels weird,' he added. 'Not inside, but physically. Feels like there's something sticking out of it.'
'That would be because there are,' Midian slowly told him. She was debating on whether or not to mention how much his form had already changed, and then saw no reason for holding back. He was chained, after all. 'You've sprouted three horns.'
'Well,' he simply said.
'…Well what?'
'Nothing.'
Weirdo, she thought, and remembered the sample. She saw it on a nearby worktop, and picked it up.

'Do you know what RFX is?' she demanded.
'Never heard of it.'
'Then explain how come it was in your blood.'
'Hmm, let's see,' Aizel began, with huge sarcasm, 'since I came here, I've been beaten, bitten, restrained and jabbed with a cocktail of different serums. It's probably something that you put there.'
'Nope, this was in your blood before you arrived here,' Midian evenly shot back. 'There are ways of telling that, you know. So who injected you with what before you arrived here?'

Nalini was standing before him, a syringe clasped in her black gloved hands. The Captain was there, watching the scene unfold, and a small whimper escaped Aizel's throat. He felt his stomach church when it resulted in Nalini threatening him, and could recall rolling up his sleeve.
He bit down on his tongue, feeling a sharp pain through his arm as the needle pierced the skin, followed by a small sensation of relief when it was withdrawn a second later. He was painfully aware of two sets of eyes upon him, watching, waiting for something to happen. As was he.
Then it struck.
Pain upon pain, causing him to scream until his throat was red raw, his voice hoarse. He had sunk down to his knees, his hands finding their way to the top of his head, clutching at himself tightly. In a vain attempt to alleviate the pain, he curled forwards, huddling up into a little tight ball, ignoring the conversation around him.
