Kara took Adonai's hand using it to help herself to stand up. She stamped her foot a few times, one of her legs had fallen asleep and it was making her a bit unsteady.

"I was worried at first about doing this, but in more ways than one she's like any other student back home... granted no student I've had ever had that much magic, but the fact it is so versatile..."

She considered Rhea for a moment.

"You know... her using other elements might not be too far fetched... water and earth magic might come the most natural, but she could probably use others."

Adonai smiled. "As long as she doesn't burn anything down," he chuckled softly. "Really, if Cindy would come here after you leave, I would be more grateful than I could say. I just don't know how long we could ask her to stay ..."

He looked troubled at the thought. If they knew how long it would take for all of Rhea's gifts to appear, they might be able to give some estimate ... but it was possible that Rhea's gifts would continue to manifest until she was grown up, or even for the rest of her life - though of course by the time she was an adult, hopefully she wouldn't need to be taught anymore.

Rhea smiled up at Kara, sending the flying horse in her direction. "Do you think I could make any of these things into real things?" she asked, meaning the shapes she had gotten her magic to take during their exercises.

"I don't know," Kara admitted to Rhea, "But I would be very careful in creating life though, especially ones that have minds. It's not really something any magic user should do."

Kara turned back to Adonai and nodded that would be a good question, and she didn't know how long Cindy would be willing to stay. Even though she could get a great amount of research done here as well.

"That's a good question, I think Cindy should be fine as long as she has a place to continue her own work her potions. This place has a lot to offer in that aspect, but.... I guess you'll have to ask her when she gets here."

Rhea's eyes were bright as she looked up at her father. "When is Cindy coming, Papa?" she asked eagerly. "How long from now?"

Adonai reached down and picked up Rhea, balancing her on his hip. "I don't know, sweetie," he smiled, hugging her close, "so you just have to have patience, all right?"

Rhea smiled and lay her head on Adonai's shoulder, holding out one hand for her little flying horse to come back to her. The moment it touched her hand, it vanished, and she smiled at Kara. "I think we're going to go home for lunch again today," she told her quietly. "But I don't feel bad today. Just sleepy."

Adonai chuckled. "I guess that means we're leaving ... thanks again, Kara. We'll see you tomorrow, I suppose?"

"Tomorrow," Kara agreed, "Same time as before."

Kara giggle and wave at Rhea.

"You're probably tired from all that practicing, you get a good rest now okay?"

Rhea waved back at Kara and giggled softly.

"Lots of rest," she agreed with a short nod. "I think I'll take a nap this afternoon ... I'll have to do my lessons with Mama tonight instead."

Adonai smiled and placed one hand gently on the back of Rhea's head. "I'm sure that will be fine," he assured her. "Have a good day, Kara, we'll see you tomorrow."

And with a smile, they were off again.

Kara watched the two until they were out of sight (to her eyes anyhow) before stretching and tottering back into the house to see if the children had returned (which probably wasn't likely except for Toshiro maybe). Maybe she could go help Haradhel, she was getting to be a bit of the stiff side from not moving.

Opening the door she walked in calling out to see if anyone was home.

One morning a few weeks after the Gaians' arrival in the Borderlands, Arahad was awake long before the house had begun to stir, and was dressed and getting ready to head outside. It was his understanding that Gwaethir, the ranch's main hunter, was leaving on a hunt today, and there was something that he needed to talk to him about before he left.

The days were colder now, the mornings even more so, and he made sure to dress warmly before heading downstairs for his cloak.

Lin was already outside, dressed in her deep blue long coat and matching outdoor slippers. There was not yet snow on the ground for her to wear boots or anything resembling actual footwear and Lin would like to put that off for as long as possible. She was sitting on the porch letting her foxy butterflies fly about. Early morning was the best since they would gather the least information then, which meant less chatter in her ears later.

Her sleeping habits had evened out after a few good weeks of actual rest. At the moment she was tossing rasins that she had brought with her to her butterflies, letting them catch them.

When Arahad slipped outside, he was surprised to see Lin already there. The sun had not yet even begun to rise ... what was she doing out so early? Or was it late, had she even gone to bed the night before? He knew she had sometimes kept Elros company on his nightly watch ...

"Good morning," he murmured quietly, closing the door gently behind himself so that he wouldn't wake anyone else. "What are you doing up already? Sunrise isn't even for a few more hours ..."

She tossed up another raisin, there was a flash of blue and then it was gone, eaten by one of the four Fs, probably Fayet. Lin looked up not expecting that anyone else would be up and she pointed to the slotches blue, yellow, white and orange that was fluttering around.

"Letting them out, this time of day is the best not a lot of people up so they can't come chattering back to me later."

Though they were far more well behave than normal butterflies they too tended to gossip quite a bit.

Arahad chuckled softly. "I see," he murmured. "Well, have fun ... I have to go catch Gwaethir quickly before he leaves for his hunt. I'll see you when I get back, I suppose."

And he began to head off towards the barracks, still chuckling to himself.

"Gwaethir is going hunting?" Lin seemed to perk up at hearing that.

He was one of the hardest people to track down... ever. All the the times she had been with him catching him was pure chance and she had yet to see him. Though these days she knew better than to go running off (sort of).

Arahad nodded. "And he leaves early ... so I have to hurry if I'm going to catch him," he called over his shoulder. "If you want to come along, hurry up, we don't have much time."

And he broke into a jog across the yard.

Without thinking Lin pushed herself off of the porch and after Arahad. She was eager to go along and wasn't squeamish about the idea of going hunting. She had sort of become desensitizing tagging ago when she was a child. Besides how else was one going to eat it?

She hurried into a run, and she had to really run to keep up with Arahad.
