"Newborns are always hungry, if they were to roam free, almost half the human population in the city would be dead with in two weeks. You can stay here with ease because the humans that are here are surrounded by other vampires and the scent will backfire to your dislike when the other vampires are around, the human will still smell very delicious, but even now as Katie over there is human you don't attack and that is why. Also the other reason was because Kale was keeping the scent away from you by blocking it from your senses. That effect will weaken the further he moves away from you when he goes to feed.
"Kale will feed you twice a day and he will be able to stop you if you take too much. It's his duty as your mate and in human language Husband. So you're going to have to get used to it until he believes you are ready to go outside in full control. Keep in mind it will take quiet a few years for you to get to that level and you will often see Kale leave to feed to provide for himself and you." Talon replied, He glanced at John and Katie as they were now listening to him, but didn't let his amusement show on his face at Katie's most interest for the topic. He stood up and went over to Kaida with a hand out to her. "Come, I will take you to your room and I will accomany you until his return."

Kaida took this information in and thought about it. She then took his hand and got up from he couch, letting him lead her upstairs. She couldn't help feel guilty though that Kale was providing for both of them.

Talon opened Kales bedroom door for her. "My, I never knew he kept his room so tidy. I always thought he was a slob." he commented, obviously never been to the top floor to get to Kales room.

Kaida went into his room and sat on his bed. She returned her gaze to Talon. She gave him a look that said 'What now? and when will Kale be back?' She looked out the window and sighed, missing him already.

Kaida shrugged. "I loved Kale...I'd rather be like this then be without him." She said, her gaze still on the window.

"That is why Kale was reluntant to turn you, he knew how you would feel and was afraid you'd loose that love during the passage of time." Talon informed. THen he blinked as if he remembered something. "Speaking of Kale, why was he so angry? He was more angry than usual."

"So you want to be leader of this place?" Katie asked confused. "For now," John said and then a smile spread across his face, "or at least until you become a vampire, in which case you will take my place."
"Really?!?!" Katie said in surprise, "You would do that for me?....But what about the other vampires here? There are only two of us. And how am I supposed to turn inot a vampire when other vampires have bitten me and all that has happened was them ending up dead on the floor?"
Joh laughed, "I guess I can't be angry with you. After all, you just learned of my little...secret. No need to worry. You see, me and you are from a long line of very powerful vampres. I know hundreds of vampires that would willingly give their lives up for me and anyone I tell them to give their lives up for because we are like royalty. And the secret of you becoming a vampire is simple: the venom will take its effect as long as I don't drink any of your blood."

Kaida only shrugged. She wanted to worry in the most way, but she felt lost and alone, even with Talon. She sighed and longed to go outside for she hadn't in forever. And she longed to be with Kale again. Kale and Kaida, perfect names.
