Sanvi blushed even more when he touched her hair. That, in her culture, was something only mates or family did.
Kirin walked in about them and saw them standing at the top of the stairs. He looked angry to see Sanvi dressed like that and even more angry to see Garin touching her hair, but he didn't comment or do anything. He was too afraid of Garin.

"I needed a change of clothes," Sanvi said simply. "We're not mates. Please don't touch my hair," she added after a short pause.
When Kirin heard Sanvi say that he walked away, less angry now.

"I wanted to go hunting," Sanvi said. "If you want to come...And I was thinking about cutting my hair. What do you think?" She motioned with her hand to just below her ear for the length. Right now her hair fell to her lower back.

Sanvi glanced over at him when he said that. She knew he was right, but she wanted a change of style. She, honestly, was a little afraid of liking Garin and thought that if she looked less pretty and more boyish that she might be able to avoid that.

Sanvi traced her fingers through her hair, and where she touched the hair braided. The top of her hair was braided now, and she wrapped it into an intricate bun, tying the straight lower layer around it. She used magic to hold it in place. "A typical hunting style," she said. "What do you think?"

Sanvi kept her hair like that, but she used magic to make her hair appear as short as she had wanted it. "I think papa would love this," she said sarcastically. "Let's go show him." She grinned crookedly.

Sanvi found her father in the sitting room. He looked infuriated when he saw, believing it to be real, and halfway leapt at her. Sanvi grinned and let him storm past her, before she turned and pinned him. She dropped the illusion, revealing her styled hair. "Relax, papa, it's an illusion," she said with a strangely girlish laugh.
Kirin relaxed visibly as she released him, almost relieved that her hair was in a normal style.

Garin had been about three seconds from ripping the man's throat out when he jumped at her like that.
