Lore got up from his seat to walk with Lothiriel and Pen to the door, he nodded eyeing the window. It looked good now but if the wind picked up.

"Agreed, we can catch up more after the storm..."

Since the two experessed they would stay here for the winter.

"Oh, my Stones!" Lothiriel gasped suddenly, reaching across the table and snatching up her Elfstones. "As long as we have these, at least we can't get lost," she murmured as she put them back in their pouch, hanging it down the front of her blouse again. Then she turned and hurried after Pen towards the living room, tying her cloak tight and pulling her cowl over her head to keep her face safe from the wind.

"You three keep safe," she smiled, waving to Lore and Elnara as she and Pen prepared to leave. "Hopefully we'll see you within the week!"

"Later," Pen nodded as he opened the door; and then he and Lothiriel were gone, hidden almost immediately by the thickly falling snow.

"I hope Ulrich and the others are all right on their hunt," Elnara murmured once Lothiriel and Pen had gone, turning to Lore and taking his hands in her own, wringing them anxiously. "They said they would bring food for us but I don't know if they'll have time to get enough ..."

Though as she recalled there was still plenty of food left in the cellar ... perhaps they could make it through the storm without needing more than they already had.

"I'm sure if they don't have enough they'll head home before the storm hits," Lore replied, "I'm pretty sure there's enough in the cellar...."

After all it had only been the two of them and three people won't make it that bad. Even though he couldn't say for certain.

"They'll be fine," Alyse said confidently, coming up behind Lore and Elnara silently. "Neko's been out in all kinds of weather, he's never gotten lost. And Adanedhel's been learning magic from Aragost again, so they'll be fine."

She turned and looked back towards the kitchen. "And it looks like Nako's been keeping you well stocked with everything you need," she added with a warm smile. "Food won't be a problem. There are enough ingredients to make a fresh loaf of bread every day for the next month, plus all sorts of preserves ... if we run out of other things we'll still be eating, though we might be sick of some things by the time we're done."

She giggled softly. "Now come on and finish your lunch before it gets cold," she admonished the two. "At this rate it won't take long at all."

Elnara felt better, though she was still a little worried about the others who were still outside, but she allowed herself to be ushered back to the kitchen to finish her meal.

At least they would not go cold, she mused as she sat down again. As a firecaster, she could make sure they always had a fire, even if there was nothing to burn.

"I don't suppose I'll be allowed to do any of the helping out during the storm," she smiled at Lore as he joined her. "Storms have always made me more fidgety than ever."

"Well.... I'll have to run it by Alyse," Lore chuckled as he joined her to finish their meal, "There might be things to keep you busy that won't require you to be on your feet, if not... well I'll try to at least keep your mind busy. I'm not sure how, but I know that doing nothing especially since we'll be inside in the coming weeks will be fustrating."

And drive her batty.... which amounted to the same thing.

"I have books," Alyse offered as she opened the door that led down to the cellar. "You can read, if you want. Uncle Adonai's books are really interesting, really good ... and you'll learn a lot from them too. I only brought ones that he did himself though, none of the ones I helped him with."

She disappeared into the darkness below. "If you're interested," her voice wafted up to them.

Elnara giggled at Alyse, then smiled warmly at Lore.

"Thank you," she said softly. "I'll probably be doing a lot of sleeping, too, so that might help."

She couldn't believe how tired she had been of late ... though that might have had something to do with the coming storm. Still, she did have blankets to make, clothes to sew, and of course the nursery to prepare ... though she wasn't sure how much she would be allowed to help out with that particular task.

Lore nodded, "Hmm... I might take Alyse up on that."

He had ben meaning to after all and nothing like being stuck in a house for a week to do some reading (like he hadn't brought his own books as well).

"Been feeling more tired?" Lore inquired.

"Today, yes," Elnara nodded, "though that could simply be from cleaning Alyse's room this morning. I don't know, maybe I'll feel better if I have a nap or something ..."

Though the bedroom was going to be cold ... no fireplace in there ... she frowned softly at the thought. She didn't like sleeping cold ... it was so uncomfortable, and it made her dream ...

"Elnara...." Lore reached out to brush a finger against her cheek, "What's wrong?"

She had frowned suddenly, it wasn't a harsh frown, but it was a frown still, as if she was thinking of something unpleasant.

Elnara blushed faintly and looked at Lore, biting her lip softly in embarrassment.

"Nothing huge, really," she murmured. "I was just thinking ... if I do take a nap ... it's going to be cold in there. That's all."

She smiled softly. "Maybe I should try sleeping on the couch in the living room," she suggested. "It might not be as comfortable, but at least it will be warm ... and if you're going to be reading in there, you wouldn't be quite as alone."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 05, 2008 7:45 pm

Now that was understandable, normally they had dealt with the cooling nights by sleeping close to each other which worked just as well if not better. Lore smiled and nodded.

"If it makes you more comfortable, at least you'll be warm and I would like the company."

Elnara smiled brightly as she finished her hotcakes (which weren't so hot anymore) and stacked her dishes on the table.

"Then I'll quicklky grab a blanket from the closet and do that," she nodded. "And when I wake up we'll see what the storm is doing."

She rose and brought her dishes to the counter, the returned to the table to get the syrup and extra dishes.
