Lore nodded, it would be a bit of work, but that was okay. As long as the roses survived, or a small green house of some sort.

"Yes, that would do just as well," he agreed, "Otherwise transplanting them I don't think will be a problem."

Most roses were pretty good at being transplanted.

"Any type in particular you were thinking of?"

Elnara tilted her head thoughtfully, her eyes scanning the hall as they walked towards the door to outside.

"Blue roses," she murmured. "Black ... lavender ... orange ... red, the light and the dark both ... white ... pink ... peach ..."

She giggled softly. "As many as we can fit, I suppose."

Lore laughed, only because he knew that the roses could be properly transplanted, covered and put into a certain bag without getting squished which meant.

"So you mean one of each type," he told her highly amused, "Because there's so such thing as, as many as we can fit."

Elnara giggled and squeezed Lore's arm, nuzzling her face against his shoulder.

"I meant, how many we can fit into wherever we're growing them," she laughed. "I mean, if we only have a small greenhouse, or garden, or if we have to grow them inside ... then we can't have a plant of each variety."

There simply wouldn't be enough space for the plants to grow and thrive.

Then there was that, pity, it would have been nice to have one of each variety, but unless they could use some sort of communal garden, which would defeat the purpose of having a private rose garden, besides he didn't know if clans had such things.

He grinned, "Yes, there is that too," he kissed her forehead, "So I guess the better question is, which colours or types do you like the best?"

Elnara smiled and leaned into the kiss, walking closer to him as they headed outside once more and in the direction of the garden.

"Blue, black and blood red, for certain," she murmured, "and purple if we can ... but perhaps we should wait until after the move, and come and get them once we have a place for them?"

After all, it was going to be at least a year - for them, anyways - before they could do anything with them, why rush?

"True, we'll be gone for a long while and no one else will be able to plant them... well they could, but it would be a nice project for us to do together," Lore replied.

Even though they could request gardeners, why have that when it was an excellent excuse to bond and do something togther alone?

"So we can wait, and see how much room we'll have."

Elnara giggled and nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me," she agreed cheerfully. "Besides, who knows what could happen between now and then? It will only be a few weeks for everyone else, but for us ... it's going to be a year ..."

She bit her lip anxiously.

"It's going to be strange," she murmured softly, her eyes lowering towards the ground, "being away from the children for so long ... I hardly remember what it's like to be without them anymore ... it's going to be something to get used to."

Light fingers gently stroked the top of Elnara's head, just enough to feel, but not enough to knock the carefully done ringlets out of place.

"It'll be strange at first, and strange coming back," Lore admitted, "But just for a year."

And no longer than that, it would be odd for both of them coming back after a year there.

Elnara giggled softly, plucking a blue rose - one that was just the same hue as his clothes - and tucking it into his lapel.

"Just a year," she repeated, smiling softly. "You make it sound like such a short time. Well. Perhaps it is ... but we do have an eternity ahead of us ... we both are immortal, after all, and death ... is but a threat."

She reached up to brush some stray hair away from his face, then traced her finger down his cheek and jaw. Then she went up on her tiptoes and kissed his chin, wishing she were taller or he shorter so that she could kiss him as easily as he could her.

He watched her, memerized by her movements. He took hold of her tracing hand and gave it a butterfly kiss.

"We do," he replied, "and who knows we might have some interesting stories to tell when we get back."

Lore pulled her close now that they were in the privacy of the gardens. Everyone else was busy or doing whatever it was everyone else needed to do to get ready. They had time to spend, and when it came time for the feast, it didn't seem like it had been that long at all.

Elnara slipped her arms around Lore's back and lay her head against his chest, smiling warmly.

"Stories indeed," she laughed softly. "I'm sure we will. I hope they're good ones."

She bit her lip thoughtfully, then looked up at him again. "Do you think any of the kids will visit us while we're there?" she asked him. "I mean ... I know it's supposed to just be you and me ... but not to see them for a whole year ... that's ... kind of long, isn't it?"

Lore had to admit he didn't know, "That's a good question, on one sense I would expect so since we're staying in the one place the family always visits on a regular basis, and I heard that it had been a while since anyone in the family has been to the Borderlands. On the other hand, for them it would be only two weeks and I wonder if they would avoid it for that two weeks. I guess it would be best to ask them."

He paused at this set of thoughts, it seemed to make sense to him.

"It would be nice if they visited, a year is long."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 13, 2008 5:43 pm

Elnara nodded. "Maybe just ask them to poke their head in every once in a while," she murmured. "Though with the move ... they might be too busy."

She paused, then blinked up at Lore in surprise.

"Especially since they'll be moving the portal," she realized. "At least ... I would assume so ... I doubt they'll be coming to the inn every time they want to come to this world ... we won't be heading back to the inn afterwards, we're going to go home and find ourselves ..."

She paused. Where would they find themselves? The mansion? One of the smaller houses? Their own house? Where was the new portal going to be set up?

"Possibly anywhere on the grounds," Lore replied finishing that train of thought, "Since the portal won't have to be confined to a false door in the inn."

He hadn't thought about it, they would be kept busy and who knew how long it would take for them to move. To move the whole family and then set up the houses could take the whole two weeks.

"So we might not see anyone for a year."
