Tao pree-ed at that thought, but really she wanted to play with (be petted) by the fishy fledglings. It had been so long since she had seen them at all. She nuzzled Adonijah as she made her way over to the mertwins.

"Tao-chan!" Feng giggled seeing one of the most favourite pets of the Winters family.

The little half angel nodded her head quickly as she took his hand. Going out with him on shift was good, and she knew she would be safe.

"Yes please," she murmured softly, "That would be good."

Lin grinned as she moved to the side to let the two pass her, after all she still wanted to go see Elros.

"Have fun," she told Miyu, "And I'll see you both later."

Sooner or later, seeing Aragost was probably going to be later than most, but she would certainly see Aragost again.

Adonijah's eyes grew wide, and he dug his heels into the ground and tugged on Tao's neck when he saw where she was headed.

"No!" he said urgently. "No, Tao! Not there! They're scary!"

And he buried his face in her neck, his pulse racing with the idea of having to go near the strange people.

"Until this afternoon, then," Aragost murmured to Lin, bowing his head politely to her. He took Miyu's hand and smiled in the shadows of his cowl. "Come, then ... we have quite a ways to go today."

And he started leading her out of the barracks.

Tao stopped for a moment and blinked, she couldn't understand why he thought they were scary. Granted she had known them since they were little, they were... just simply them. Beings that looked like fishies.... only they were smarter and not fishies. She tittered a bit, trying to calm him down, they weren't bad, and she began to take a few more steps towards them.

Miyu smiled at that and let herself be led back out, ready to ask him how he had been doing as soon as they were on their way. She was very much use to these walks.

Now that those two were out on their way, Lin hurried down the hall and up the stairs. Taking care not to trip on them on the way up, she still couldn't see in the dark after all and she hadn't learn yet how to make a light for herself. Counting the doors quickly, she stopped at her usual place and knocked on it gleefully.

Adonijah whimpered a bit and pushed harder against Tao's chest, stumbling a bit when she moved forward again, falling to his hands and knees in front of her.

"But they're really big!" he told her in a frightened tone. "They might hurt me!"

Aragost closed the door behind them and started them off in the direction of the woods.

"The season is quite beautiful, is it not?" he murmured to her conversationally as they started out. "Summer is always nice ... but this summer, I think, is more beautiful than most."

The door opened after only a moment, and Elros stood there, only half dressed, his pants belted at the waist, his golden hair pulled back in a low, loose braid. His icy blue eyes warmed slightly when he saw Lin, and he stepped to the side so that she could enter the room.

"Hello, Lin," he said warmly. "I was expecting you to come today. Come in, come in, make yourself comfortable."

Tao tilted her head, of course she knew that this one was shy, but she had never thought he would have thought people would hurt him. After all, wasn't that why she was around to make sure people didn't hurt him? She lowered her head and flatten her ears a bit, giving a small squawking sound. Didn't he trust her?

Miyu looked up thoughtfully and nodded at this, this summer was very nice and while certainly warm not overly hot she decided, "Yes... mi..... though I haven't been around for the other summers... most of the time, but it is very nice. Not too hot."

Lin grinned, she was very predictable she knew this now. It didn't take someone with a gift like Aragost's or Seeker's to know that she was going to visit him today.

"Good morning," she replied stepping in and making a beeline for a chair, "How have you been?"

It was always how have you been, not how are you today, she knew it was a long time, and she never knew how things changed from visit to visit.

Adonijah threw his arms around one of the griffin's forelegs and hugged it tightly.

"Of course I trust you!" he squawked back at her. "But they're so big!"

He looked at the twins over his shoulder again, his violet eyes filled with fear.

Aragost nodded. "Yes," he agreed. "A comfortably warm summer. Good for the crops ... good for us ... good for the horses ..."

On the whole, it was one of the best years in a long time, weather-wise, and the crops were flourishing accordingly.

Elros smiled and closed the door again, moving to take a seat across from Lin.

"I've been quite well," he told her softly. "There haven't been any sightings of slavers around this area in many years now, so we're all feeling quite happy. And Aragost ..."

He paused thoughtfully.

"Lord Aragost has been in an unusually good mood of late," he shrugged finally. "No one knows why."

Well she wasn't going to disagree with that, even with living among elves for a few years, Tao was quite aware the people here were big compared to most back where she came from. After all, her old master was quite small, though not as small as this one, but.... she tittered her beak messing around with his hair, as she was treating him, he was a hatchling, of course he was small. One day he would grow up big, but they were only big because he was small at the moment.

"And new people," Miyu added.

Only to her, they were new people though she was sure Aragost hadn't met Pen and Lothiriel yet. She liked Lothiriel and Pen was just silly.

Well without sighting of slavers she would suspect Aragost had a very good reason to be happy, but to say he was in a good mood. Naturally it meant that something good happened, what it could be.. she didn't know. Perhaps it was because of Adonai and Shael, if anyone knew about those two, he probably knew way, way ahead of time, and was just happy to see something good out of it.

Or maybe he knew about the two visitors, which wouldn't surprise her in the least.

"Well, if everything is quite well, I would think he would be in a good mood, though knowing Aragost, he probably knows something we don't know yet," Lin murmured, "Which reminds me, we have new visitors. Lothiriel and her friend Pen are here to visit, I want to talk to Aragost about Lothiriel but I'm not sure..."

She wanted to sort of get Aragost to talk to Lothiriel just because it was better than Lothiriel finding out by herself. Though, she was sure knowing Aragost, he probably knew this already, but she felt like she should be telling him. This was always the hard part about Aragost... was that how do you tell someone something, that they probably already knew.

Adoinjah giggled slightly as Tao played with his hair - he loved it when she did that. It was an action of endearment and motherly instincts, and it made him feel special - as special as when he brought her special treats from the dinner table.

"You think they won't hurt me?" he asked her, clicking his tongue and preeing softly, still hugging her leg.

Aragost chuckled softly. "And new people," he agreed. "I have to say, it will be interesting meeting another Seer face to face ... I have not met one in many long years ... they are so few ..."

Of course there was the added fact that every seer was somehow descended from him, which just sort of made him avoid them in general - until now that was.

Elros cocked his head curiously. "Lothiriel and Pen?" he asked, his tone showing his curiosity. "I have not heard of them ... did they come with you last night?"

He of course didn't know nearly as much as Aragost did, and while the dark man would know them just from their names, Elros had no idea who they might be.

Tao couldn't understand what gave Adonijah the idea that they would hurt him, after all they had been around for a while now. If they hadn't yet then they wouldn't ever. She lowered her head again to nudge him in their direction. She was certain everything would be fine, of course she knew. She had helped look after them too.

Miyu didn't know about seers, the only one she had met was her Uncle Yukito, but he wasn't anything like Aragost. The seer that saw things whether or not that they could help it she had never met before.

"She's very nice," Miyu murmured, "And he is very silly.... "

Lin nodded at that, "We ran into Lothiriel and Pen when Adan and Ahren were showing me fishing," she explained.

By now Lin had sort of learned that Elros needed a bit of context to go with it, and he probably didn't know most of Elrohir's family by now. To be fair... Elrohir had a very big family, even she hadn't met all of his family. Maybe that should also be on her to do list.

"Lothiriel is Gion's daughter, who is Elrohir's brother, which is probably why she decided to visit her. Pen... I don't know where he's from, he's just traveling with Lothiriel, but..." she added to explain why she wanted to talk to Aragost, "Lothiriel is a seer, and she tends to know people by name before being introduced."

Now that she thought about it...it was just like Aragost, which suddenly explained how he did what he did. For the first time she could actually match up a gift with Aragost.

Adonijah fell over when Tao nudged him, but he got quickly to his knees and put his arms around Tao's neck once more.

"Let me on your back?" he clicked to her, hoping that if he had to go to the strange people he could at least have the comfort of the griffin's soft back between his legs.

Aragost nodded. "Yes ... Lothiriel is a lovely young woman ... very practical, and far stronger than she appears ... and do not be deceived by Estel's silliness, it is nothing more than a mask to hide his true self. He is indeed a very serious individual ... with pain in his past ... he needs friends, true friends ... people in whom he may place his trust freely ..."

Elros chuckled. "Well, being an Aldrich, you have to remember that she is one of Lord Aragost's descendants, and so any magic that she might have will be stronger than most others ... especially if she is also a seer. I'm curious to know more about both her and her companion ... perhaps I will ask Lord Aragost about the two of them later on."
