I wonder if what the Doctors did to fix the situation allowed something even worse than the Doctor himself destroying Gallifrey to happen.
I mean, they got taken out of time for a purpose; perhaps they were following someone's plan all along.

I think I've lost the plot... What was the story of the Valeyard? And Davros? And the Toymaker? And the Cybermen? And the Master? And the various Dalek factions? And the Sontarans? What were there aims/motives/whole point in the plot? What happened to them? gonk my brain!

Guesses as to who that is?
I guess a projection of Rassilon; his physical form is already dead, but he seems to be an immortal spirit now--see "The Five Doctors". So naturally blowing up the surface of the planet wouldn't get rid of him.

Aww... 214 and a loneliness speech. crying
I like the new forms. And the chessboard - gotta have a chessboard in there. This is actually a whole segment I would LOVE to see happen on telly, if only to see the huge barren landscape of Gallifrey with this strange, funny and kinda tragic conversation happening on top... or I'm taking it too seriously.

You can see they've been playing this out all along--notice the pieces on the chess board.

LOL @ the birds
Yay chess board!
I see a Sontaran, Dalek, the car, the Tardis, K-9, a Cyberman... what looks to be the First Doctor next to the Cyberman (he's got a cane)

Aha! At page 215. I thought there was something kinda ambivalent about the guardians this time--sort of both things at once, who do you trust? White and Black aren't Good and Evil, they're Order and Chaos! And Order isn't necessarily GOOD!

Oh, good and evil don't even exist except in the collective mind. That's what the Guardians want to teach.
And I don't think the doctor is too happy about being a pawn in a game of universal chess.

Drat it, I can't get 217 to completely load! scream I'll have to try again tomorrow. I don't know if it's my problem or theirs--my computer does seem unusually slow here on Gaia tonight also.

Pages 217 & 218: The Guardians are still explaining & explaining. And laughing at the Doctor. smile
So he's NOBODY'S champion! I should think both sides would be annoyed with him. That aint good.
