"Sorri..." Xyn seemed to be calm. He glanced his natural eye toward Sorri, the glossy brown yet narrow pupil fixed on his teammate. Xyn seemed to be calm...

"You speak too lightly." With a flick of his wrist, the cloak that was fixed at his side flew back. Munin was already up in the air while the Douken's right arm moved. Without a moment's hesitation or second thoughts, Xyn removed a kunai from behind his back. Sliding his right leg back, he pointed the weapon at Sorri's throat. This was how their relationship usually was, but Xyn was far more serious this time.

"The dead, the injured, the missing... how much have you lost? You speak far too lightly." Xyn had purposely taken a step out of reach so that he could fully extend his arm, but have no contact with Sorri's body. It was an idle threat, but a threat none the less.

"How many... should we have protected?" Xyn let the kunai drop from his grip, the loop on the back of the handle catching in his pinky while he placed the weapon back in its previous spot. Xyn shook his head, using his other hand to place his hair back over his left eye.

"Though he judged a thousand men, he was unable to see his own faults, and fell into damnation where he had sent so many others. Book of Equals, chapter 5, verse 21." Reaching up to return Munin to the perch on his wrist, Xyn turned away from both of them.

"Judge yourself and others equally..."

At first, Sukotto wasn't sure what to think of Xyn's composure, it was slightly unexpected and a little unsettling at first. As he took a bit more time to reflect on the situation, the Uchiha realized that it was a good thing that the Genin had such a cool composure. After all, the Chuunin didn't have much time to prepare the makeshift squad for the dangers that would be waiting for them in the wilderness, so he was relieved to see that the first member of the squad could take a situation and remain calm as he dealt with it. "Good, I'll be glad to have you fighting by my side." Sukotto opened his mouth to speak again, but was interrupted by the arrival of another Genin, the Ibazi known as Sorri. Apparently, it was the Uchiha's lucky day when it came to gathering up a squad.

The tan-skinned Genin stepped next to the Douken and spoke about Sukotto as if he wasn't even there. Such disrespect for higher ranking shinobi among the youth. In the Tategami's case, it had been understandable because he was a Tategami. Sukotto had to force himself not to smile at this thought. However, he didn't know the Ibazi to be quite as upfront as the Tategami. He was a bit surprised that Xyn had such a hostile reaction to the Ibazi, but had heard that the two had somewhat of a rivalry with each other and figured that there were things between them that he simply wouldn't understand until he had the chance to get to know them better. For the time being, the Uchiha simply ignored the kunai that was nearing Sorri's throat and spoke,
"Unfortunately Sorri-kun, no one can predict and prepare for every situation that we are faced with. I felt as though it was within Serena's best interest to train with me and I still stand by that position to this day." Sukotto couldn't afford to get into a squabble with anyone. The village's safety had to come before anything else, and Sorri would just have to realize that himself. "You are more than welcome to join us if you wish. I would like the two of you to get your shots and then head up to the cliffs. I am going to gather some more help and then I will meet the two of you there. It may take me a bit, so feel free to warm yourselves up with a little training until I arrive."

Having responded to Sorri, Sukotto began to walk away from the center of the village, towards the shoreline of Shimagakure, where he figured he'd find a few recruits for the squad. Before he managed to get too far away from Xyn and Sorri, however, he turned back to the two and spoke directly to Xyn. "We've all lost something in some way, Xyn-san, let us see if we can restore some of it, or at least work to prevent ourselves from losing anything else. Don't be too hard on Sorri, it has been quite a stressful stretch of days for us all and it's quite easy to lose ourselves. Let's just stick together and do what we can for the village." With that said, Sukotto turned away once again and within moments, disappeared amidst the rubble of the ruined village. He had planned on heading straight to the shore. However, something would delay him for a short time.

Intelligence Training - Determining Potential Strategy
While running Serena and Shisei through an exercise that pinned the two of them against himself, Sukotto has decided to consider what he would do if he had been placed in their shoes, while also allowing his mind to dance within the battles that he has experienced over the course of his career as a young shinobi.

((Noooo, McClane, you traitor!))

All... lost something...

Xyn let his gaze lift up toward the sky. It was warm... so warm...

"The balance... has shifted..." Xyn scrunched his brow in response to the daylight. He had always wondered, what could he give in return for everything that he gained after arriving on this island... now, what was left for him here? A heart he didn't know he had was now shred and beaten into a form that could hardly function without all his concentration. This...

For all that he gained, what could he give in return... that was what troubled Xyn's mind before the Spring. Now, for everything that he has lost, for everything that everyone had lost, what could they all gain? This was the flaw that he realized about the Hyuuga's speech. The village had been attacked before, there had been loss before, yet at the same time there was still something to gain. Xyn's hands both started to make a fist, Munin kawing at the sudden tension in the boy's muscles. This time... simply recovering would not restore balance. If only things were... that simple. He would have to find his own way.

Himoto glanced over as the Uchiha had spoken to both genin. The woman was going to speak with the two, but Sukotto had the situation under control. “He certainly is quick.” the woman thought as the hazel eyed teen gave both of them an invitation to the mission. Her eyes remained on t he genin closest to her. A dark haired boy whose bangs covered over one of his eyes. There was also a raven with him. The older woman noted his shadowy appearance. “Based on the files he must be Xyn of the Douken clan.” her mind assessed. Her hands pulled out the injection and proceeded to give the boy a shot. “Recovery may not be enough, but it is a start for much more.” she told the boy. Her eye slightly pivoted to the raven on Xyn. “I did not forget about you.” Himoto stated. The kunoichi pulled out a different syringe for the bird. Once both were vaccinated the woman looked around to see how many shinobi were left. Not many, but they did not seem inclined to come by. Almost forgetting about Xyn the woman looked back down at him. “You better start getting ready for your mission.” her voice stated.

Nadeshiko slowed as she entered the village; there was a crowd gathered there, most of them neatly lined up. Something important had obviously been going on. Did the new Kage call a meeting of some sort? Nadeshiko had heard things regarding the village's new leader, but she had yet to see her. She scanned the sea of grim faces quickly, and then seeing a small group of loosely familiar shinobi gathered around a decidedly unfamiliar blue-haired woman who seemed to be in charge (Nadeshiko guessed her to be the new Kage) led her in their direction. "Um...excuse me?" Nadeshiko called, trying to get their attention.

((The eyepatch is gone, changed his character design so that his hair covers his eye instead like Deidara, but with not as much hair))

The... the woman had heard him? Xyn knew he was speaking out loud but still... those Hyuugas, was it possible their hearing inproved along with that eye technique? Well, that was of no importance. Xyn usually didn't respond to such comments, but since the woman had brought it up...

"Not everything can be recovered." Xyn was starting down a path of mistrust of this woman. It was far from intentional, but after everything that happened... her words came too easily. He... everyone would have to work harder than they'd ever worked before. Returning to normal was pointless.

"We all... must rise greater." Xyn placed Munin back on his shoulder while he turned and began his steady-paced strides. He gave only a small sign of notice to the girl that had just walked up, a slight hesitation and a nod of his head simply to awknowledge her existence. He really had no interest in what the Hyuuga woman had to say. He would have to judge later if what she talked about had any merit. For now, he'd have to stay true to his own words. His own balance had to be restored.

Karite folded his arms unsatisfied with the answer but then again he was a Tategami, he was always unsatisfied outside of chaos. Waiting his turn for this so called vaccine it seemed he would be left outside of another chance to prove his worth. He was getting tired of this, every time a mission was put up he was left on the sidelines. He had become nothing more than a guard dog for the island. Watching over the villagers and minding his own training. Being a student was more interesting then anything he has done as a genin.

[sorry about that Semb. I’ll pay more attention in the future. That post was edited with the correction.]

The woman looked down to see a young girl. She couldn’t be older than ten, with a complexion paler than the Hyuuga. It made Himoto wonder if the girl should go to the hospital. Most distinguishable were the tangerine pupils and hime haircut. The new leader began to think back through all the files of shinobi. “Those eyes… she must be that girl. To think they actually exist. No I’m still in disbelief over that. Still if it is true then she is even a rarity among the unique in this world.” “Yes. And who might you be?” the kunoichi asked, bending to one knee to be around the same height with the girl. Despite going over all the files, it was still hard to remember everyone’s name. She made sure to keep in mind the name of the chuunin and some of the genin. The academy students had escaped the white eyed woman’s memory. Himoto quickly gave the girl an injection while waiting for her reply.

She stood up and gazed upon the Tategami male. He was a big one, easily over Himoto’s height. Her eyes remained unnerved though as the male came next to receive his injection. She gave Karite and injection easily. The teen was displeased. Not over the medical booster, but perhaps the new leader. Or maybe just a bit of hopelessness. Himoto did not need her Byakugan to see that. Regardless she felt nothing need to be said on that subject. The boy would just have to see her work on the village in the future. Instead she only had one thing to say to him. “There will be missions coming up soon. I do hope you will be able to partake in them rather than standing with such a dissatisfied posture.”.

Akemi just stood around in the shadows as everyone talked around her and as she listened to the Hyuuga talk about the village and the things going on within it. She kept quiet as some others started talking and complaining. The Raiken wasn't sure what was really going on, or what she should even be doing. All she managed to do was walk out from her little hiding space as the woman talked of injections for protection. In all honesty, she didn't know if she should speak up or if it was wise to just keep her space and not get too involved in all the happenings going on around here...

She waited and watched as several people moved along a line for an injection. Nadeshiko could guess what it was for. When a dark-skinned and dark-haired young boy nodded at her, Nadeshiko merely blinked in reply. The woman had heard her, and was now speaking to her at eye-level, regarding Nadeshiko with mild surprise and interest. Her orange eyes drilled into the woman's white ones. A surprise injection came at her before she could reply. " I am Rin'Egan Nadeshiko. Are you the new Kage?" Without waiting for an answer (Nadeshiko was quite confident in her ability to read people, outwardly at least), she continued, "There are three people who just washed up along the shore and are in need of medical attention. One girl, two young men. One of the males has identified himself as Kane, and seems to be familiar with the girl. The other has snakelike features. Misaki-san is currently with them." This was Nadeshiko -efficient and to the point.

Karite growled as he was injected, he wasnt pleased with his skin being pierced, it always reminded him of a kunai. Turning to leave he heard the woman speak again. Snarling back showing his teeth, he spoke calmly for once weighing his words. "My posture has nothing to do with my ability to function as a shinobi. Unlike those not here I still stand. So do not doubt my abilities." Turning the figure walked away towards the grounds. He needed to train before his time came to guard this forsaken village again.

Himoto noticed one body peeking from a shadowed part of the village. The person was a small blond girl with very light peach skin. In contrast the girl’s eyes were very dark; a hazel bordering on black. “Why don’t you come over also and get your shot.” the kunoichi said aloud to the girl. The new leader did not use a name, because she was not sure of whom this person might be. Himoto would have to read over her files more to be acquainted with them all.

The magnolia pupils shifted back down towards the orange eyed girl, now known as Nadeshiko. Himoto was going to answer the girl’s first question, but could not as she began speaking about the shore. “Kane… could he be possibly be the same from the Yamanaka clan? A survivor of that incident with Tenmoki Aya’s squad? And another Orochi? Wasn’t that brat who stayed with Hyuuga for a while the only one on Shimagakure??”. The blue haired woman would have to read over the files of past shinobi too. This may turn out to be a good development. Although it could also be a double handed sword. That would be left to see.

Himoto listened to Karite’s words, but did not reply. She would let him have his way for now. If she became the target of his frustrations then there was no harm as long as he accomplished his missions. The woman continued to stare at Nadeshiko. “Thank you for telling me. Would you mind helping them towards the clinic? After that could you go find Uchiha Sukotto? He has a mission coming up soon and I think you will be able to help him out.” the woman said with a slightly forced grin. Not because she did not like Nadeshiko. Only because the kunoichi had been used to not smiling that curving her lips felt awkward from time to time. Himoto would need to learn to revert between her political and teaching personas quickly. She didn’t want to seem uninterested in anyone in the village.

A giant -an absolutely huge boy- actually growled at the lady. It seemed that she was already at odds with a resident of Shimagakure within the short time she had been on the island. She also looked like she was unsure of exactly what to think of the information that Nadeshiko had just brought her. There was a flash of hope, and then suspicion, and it flickered here and there. When she addressed Nadeshiko again, it was with a grin that was, quite obviously, forced. Nadeshiko could understand forced facial expressions well enough. They were the reason she had given up entirely on being dishonest. " Of course. But um...you do realize that the reason I came back to the village with this message instead of helping Misaki-san with the three that drifted on shore is because the two of us cannot handle them, yes? And I still do not know your name." , she said pointedly.

“Ok.” Himoto said to the young girl. She did not want to leave the village until everyone had gotten their vaccination, but it seemed that there would not be a choice. She did not want to lose any other shinobi. “I’m sorry. Forgive my rudeness. My name is Hyuuga Himoto. I’m just a substitute leader until a more efficient Kage can be found. Thank you for telling me this information.” the woman stated. It may have seemed weird for an adult to apologize to a child, but Himoto was not one for rudeness. She thought it to her students and lead by example in that department. Or at least tried to.

The veins in her eyes pulsed and the sacred bloodline limit was activated. The woman was searching for the other missing kunoichi of this morning. The piercing eyes easily saw into the clinic and realized that Kanami was not there. She was not around in the prominent area. Himoto did not think that the vixen had snuck off to do some fooly cooly with some boy. Her mood had been dampened since the incident so the Hyuuga leader did not worry about that. If her frame was not in the village area, there were three other possible places. Himoto had seen the girl in these places from time to time since the end of spring. The ruined academy, the bamboo forest, or the training grounds. Knowing Kanami, she was similar to a rabbit. Despite the moody attitude she wouldn’t go to a place of full solitude or stay in such a place for very long. The bamboo forest was the least possible place. Still it was a possibility.

“My time is needed here just a bit more. Could you go find a certain chuunin for me? Her name is Hyuuga Kanami. She has white eyes and a long bang going down her face if you have not seen her before. Tell her that I said get to the shore and help those three people with Misaki. She should be at either at the training grounds, the academy or the bamboo forest. If you cannot find her come back and tell me.” Himoto said to the girl. She hoped the girl would be able to find the kunoichi. It would at least give the girl something to do instead of being sullen. If not the embalmer of the Hyuuga would go down there herself.

The veins in Kage-sama's eyes popped out again. Now that Nadeshiko knew for certain that she was a Hyuuga, she understood the eyes. Kage-sama scanned the area quickly, and whatever or whoever she was looking for did not appear to be in the immediate vicinity, because the next thing she did was turn back to Nadeshiko and tell her to look for someone. A certain Hyuuga Kanami. When the little girl heard the name and the description, a few quiet bells rang in her head. Yes she had seen this chuunin around the village. More importantly, she had heard about this chuunin in the village. Nadeshiko didn't know Kanami at all, but from what she heard...those three places didn't sound all too likely for Kanami to hang around. She decided she would go to those places in the order that Kage-sama had said. " Finding her shouldn't be too much of a problem." Nadeshiko reassured Kage-sama; despite her being her, Nadeshiko felt inclined to help this lady in anyways she could. With that parting shot, she left towards the training grounds.
