The snake child allowed his mind to ponder if he should create a new tactic to grab the bar or if one of his past failures should be tried again. Either way, even his patience was beginning to wane. Not only by these constant failures, but by the progress of the rest of his classmates. Two barefooted, uncouth, girls managed to pull this off before anyone else? So illogical. Shisei could have understood if Karite or even the white haired male had finished first. Even that male relative of sly smile or the scarab lover. They both had the height that could reach the bar. Yet instead it was some dusty farm girl and a teen street walker. Shisei’s bar had even been dropped because of his height. He technically had an advantage over the rest and he still couldn’t make use of it. The more he thought about it the more depressing this exercise seemed to him. Shimagakure seemed to be a place that wanted to eradicate his pride. It seemed there was always something or someone that made a malignant slash across his spirit. Even now Orika seemed to be the one that wanted to leave a large laceration in his pride.
"I don't see why you have to wait 'til a person's close to being finished to help them. Seems that the ones struggling need the most aid."
The boy’s head pivoted slowly to meet the girl’s face who was enthralled with finishing her puzzle. Those who struggle need the most aid? Indeed she was correct, but those who get the most aid never get strong. They stay feeble always clinging onto someone else for help. Those who need help the most always stay within the shadow of someone else at whim of that person’s desire. Orika had proven she could finish the exercise. Even without Shisei’s aid, hopper would have still succeeded. If not at that time then surely at the next turn. The serpent youth was yet to be close of finishing. He disliked everyone trying to coddle him and help, but the child knew it was his fault for not being stronger so people didn’t feel the need to aid him. The serpent youth would have liked to say something cold such as ‘help is for the weak’ but that would have only acknowledged his own inadequate and insubstantial position. The girl’s innocent bluntness left him at a loss of sentences. After half a minute’s contemplation he answered the witty rabbit, risking his guise. “A person who is almost finished with something can most likely accomplish what they set out to do. Even without help they probably would still accomplish it. Helping them at the end just speeds up the process. The ones struggling never get stronger if they keep getting aid.” his voice commented as gold orbs went back to the bane of his existence for today. Even the serpent youth could see the hypocrisy in his statement as he was the one who was getting aid. No doubt some other smart mouthed person will point it out. This also may have sealed any outside aid to this exercise for the rest of the day. The only advantage would be that whenever the stolid youth finished this trial he’d be much stronger.
Both legs pressed down and pushed fiercely off the classroom floor, but this time the snake frame did not propel far. The skeleton sung back to the earth like a cannonball dropped from a cliff. The problem occurred, because Shisei pushed off with his bad ankle. The quick jolt made him uncertain of the jump. Even worse was that he landed on the same ankle. The bones gave way under his light form and child unexpectedly landed on one knee. It was these failures that made the child wonder just when he would finish.

{Sorry for the bad posts..I've been so tired lately I haven't been able to think straight}
Serena wanted to finish this excercise quickly. She had already grabbed the bar, and done one pullup. Now was just the matter of getting enough strength to do two more. Unfortunately, it was harder to do than think. The Raiken had held onto the bar for a while, thinking about rather random things until she realized she was getting tired from hanging there. With still two more pullups to go, she struggled to get back on track and tried to pull her chin over the bar. 'Pull..pull..pull--' Serena was already halfway over the bar when her shaking arms gave way and released themselves from their grasp on the bars. "Aw..come-on..this will take forever.." she sighed. It was most likely that she would be the last to finish...her strength was lost from staying up all night..

Karite couldn't help but to over both Shisei and Orkia talking as if all this training were a defining line of strong over weak. It was defining sign that the boys were to fat to hold there own body weight and that was all it was a sign of it. Yet Orika and Shisei as well as himself seemed to have had a great start as a team of some sorts. it was odd considering all three of them were no where near being the same kind of person. Shisei, all in himself thought to much about everything and nothing at the same time. While Orika was a speedy little demon in her words and movements. She could probably run around the island a good time and still have enough energy to do it again. While at least there was Karite. Determined to be stronger and tougher then anyone on the island including Maya and the demon he had meet again in the weapon shop (Dhan Meho) He was sure that this would be the perfect seem up for a team. Brains, Brawn, and Speed, but what skills could they really bring to the table. They were still young and did not have any defining traits. Yet of course shisei went running his mouth to quickly which meant he needed a lashing. "Friends and allies do not let those around them fail or struggle. They lift each other up. My strength and your brains and Orika's speed will all be those added features that make sure we never fail around each other at least." Hoping his words were at least some what helpful the reaper felt he had what it took to concentrate. Bending down to the ground almost far enough to wear his bottom could touch the ground he breathed deeply letting the oxygen flow through his body. Jumping up towards the bar he grasped solid with more then enough energy to continue but for some reason he did not. "So Shisei stop thinking and start breathing and get to it so I can kick your face in after class."
+1 Orika and Shisei

Sorri intertwined his fingers before cracking them and stared at the bar. While he spend his time stretch, he snooped and listened into the conversation of the under classmates, he had been doing just as bad as them wasn't he. That was sad, it didn't even seem as tough Sorri was on a different level. He sighed, they were talking about helping, then the subject of friends and allies was summoned up into the conversation. He bit his lip and turned his head over at Karite and shook his head. "You know...those words, those are strong, and you may want to stay away from them...friends leave, bonds break, and promises turn into nothing. Sooner or later, it feels like your the only one in your class." He could ask Maya all about that When he tried to focus back at the bar Serena caught his eye, the person he approached the least, seemed to still be around the most...
Hetook a deep breath as he turned back at the bar, when would he find something that came to ease for him. Why was everythign so hard.
"I wanna go back.".

Why had it been so easy for the others...why could they just go away as if shima meant nothing, so much effort to leave an island, Sorri couldn't understand, Kira as poof, Kiyo, Nyx, so many question to many missing people and with no answer to be giving...now even his own clan member had left, it was disgraceful. Ero and the kage-sama had the biggest hearts h had ever been in witness of. they died with Shima in mind, Shima behind there backs in a protecting formation. Sorri could stare at the bar all day in thought of the bravery of others and the weakness he displayed. He could do this right, he could be strong like his cousin.
"Ero, you made it right....you did you best and you wore the band to show for it" the tips of his fingers pushed at his palmed and he took another deep breath and began to walk away from the bar.

He stopped at the door and stared at the bar and squinted in anger. No, it was all worth it, he had to live on and at his best, for the sake of doing his best. The image of the bar had been replaced by a unconscious Ero, then switched and replace with her standing proudly in front of Sorri. Yeah...bonds may break and the promise may disappear into nothing but memories, could be so much more powerful then a friend that had left and there words. Sorri lend into his sprint and grabbed the bar a** soon as he jumped into the air.

His grip was tighter then the last time he had reached the bar, despite the sweat that had developed. His arms still felt on fire, but mentally he continued to tell himself to push. Sorri bit against his bottom lip without noticing until the pain finally clicked against him. his tongue stuck out between his lips during his first pulp up. Eyes set on the wall Sorri had to finish, even if he would have to keep slapping his hands against the bar after falling. He would train with this pulls ups all day if needed

He performed another pull up, and now he could feel more muscle work in his back then he did in his arms, his muscles had been something he work more for to beat Kira, and with him running as much as he did body weight was something he could lift. His hands were slipping, he could feel the different in his hold. more time, just a little more time and he could do one more. Two, it had been the same number that he stopped at before hand. A drop of sweat loosed down his forehead and under his chin

He was attempting another pull up, but it was getting him nowhere. Sorri let himself down and rubbed his palms together, to subdue the sting. He rolled his shoulders and steadied his breathing while grabbing his foodie. Sorri walked of the academy and buried then buried the hoodie in a small layer of snow. Before went back in Sorri cupped some snow in his hand smashed it in his own face, the chill shot down his spine.
He took his sandals off and placed them next to the entrance. The wet rubber threw off his sprints and any negative factors was the last thing needed

Shisei's cynicism was beginning to get on her nerves. Orika listened closely to his speech while she searched for a piece with a side that made her think of a woman's curves. The girl sneakily glanced at her own body, shifting her eyes up every second or so to catch the wandering glances her way. She had already established herself as a rough-neck so appearing vain would be so hypocritical! Luckily, no curves had sprouted on her so far. Orika breathed a small sigh of relief and chucked that one piece somewhere in the mesh of reds and blues. She'd hit rock bottom with this puzzle. When Shisei was finally done talking, the girl relayed his words in her heads, irritated enough by his negativism to make an effort to find a weakness she could crush. Truthfully, it wasn't hard, not in the least. "The people lagging behind everyone else just need enough of a boost and they'll be on par with the whole class. You make it sound like there's no hope for those stragglers, that their weakness can only be overcome by themselves. If they're at a disadvantage," Orika paused just enough for Shisei to get the obvious hint, her eyes to the side, silently trying to avoid looking at his leg, "then they get the training done faster so they can work on that weakness with more exercises."

She'd heard somewhere that warriors did their best only under the worst conditions, pressured on enemies from all sides. Orika didn't believe that, but she was grateful for the new ways Shisei made her look at things. Would she really get stronger if she did everything by herself? Or was that just a waste of time she could spend on more training? She wished she had the answers, but they would only come by experimentation. An oddly jagged piece hopped into her hand and subsequently perfectly next to another weirdly edged one. Weakness attracted other weaknesses. Strong people associated with other strong people. Orika looked up in surprise as Karite commended her for speech. "Shisei's a lot faster than I am. I've seen him train a bunch on his speed!" the girl interjected. Through his oration was a bit inspirational, Orika caught the hidden, if not unintended sub-message. Karite and Shisei were going to fight because they were on the same level, one reliant on his strength and the other on his speed and smarts. What did she have? Nothing that surpassed the boys' traits and certainly no skill to set her apart. Orika stiffened her upper lip. She wanted to be the Alpha, not let others trample over her with training that exhausted them every day. Maybe that was what Shisei meant. She rarely did much by herself, definitely not tough training. If she was going to commit to being a shinobi, then by common sense she had to focus all her efforts into being a darn good one!

Karite was distracted by the words Sorri said. Letting the words pierce into his mind like aged daggers Karite managed to muster forth the painful images of his decent from the Wave country. No one know of his origins and hopefully they would not come back to haunt him in the future. Only time would tell if being here would effect all these people. Not feeling his full strength Kartie let go of the bar dropping softly to the ground on all fours much like that of a cat. "Sorri, I don't believe what you say to be true because bonds forged through the fires of war and friendships formed over blood and sorrow can not be easily broken unless both parties wish it so. In your lifetime you may have seen such things happen but because you allowed them to." Karite felt that his words were a little harsh but the elder shinobi in training should be able to understand. As for Orika he turned and looked with his expressionless face and his green hair masking his gray eyes. "Do not sell yourself short. I would actually like to see what you have in a fight as well. All three of us will fight each other. It will be an interesting match." Looking at the two he had a feeling...no he had a strong desire to work with them for a long time to come. Something about who they were drove him to make himself better and to want to protect those around him. Karite noticed that Serena had been working alone and doing quite well. Taking the band from his wrist he bent over along the hair from his neck to fall down. Grabbing it all two scars could be seen at the base of his neck. Wrapping the band back around Karite's face came up smiling. He did not wish to be mean to such a sweet girl. "Serena your doing a great job. You will be finished in no time flat if you keep going like that." Karite hoped his words of encouragement helped in some form. She had been working hard without much help.
+1 to Serena's next roll

A baby smooth finger traced a squiggle in between the masses of unplaced pieces. Orika was thinking about Shisei and very confused. She hadn't known the boy for more than two days and still his words were powerful enough to trouble her. Negative thoughts normally didn't last long in the girl's quick-witted mind; This was why she could bounce back so easily from any setback. However, the girl was also receptive, sensitive to the moods around her and anyone short of brain dead could tell that recent conversations unearthed a tearful past in the students. Orika glanced at their sensei and noticed that he too had his piercing eyes shut, deep in contemplation about some important topic. She wasn't sure, but she thought the man was holding Ayumi not how a normal person holds someone else's baby, but rather how one holds his own son or daughter. But that couldn't be right, for the girl was Yuki's and Sachiriku's child, the two that the agitated man hated most. Orika knitted her brow and looked away, not wanting to be bogged down by everyone's troubles. But then, just as well, Karite and Sorri dove deep into the bottomless ocean of blood bonds. She didn't want to hear anymore of this! Cupping her hands over her ears, Orika hummed to herself as the puzzle pieces swam in colorful blurs, like fish scales composed of so many hues that they all dizzyingly blended together. Her hands furiously moved over the parts of the jigsaw puzzle that had at least a few pieces and she forced several rogue pieces to fit in where they should be. Surprisingly, it worked and the puzzle revealed itself to be a dazzling phoenix.
"What do you know of war?" copper-head snapped, turning to glare at Karite and Sorri, too caught up in the former's dark thoughts than on his compliment, "People can be taken from you at the snap of a finger. No one decides to break those bonds; It just happens and you're powerless to save the relationship!" Her mind wandered to her father and adopted sister until Orika physically shook their faces out of her mind. "But you should never let that bring you down. There are always new people, but only if you're strong enough to get over the ones that have left." The flame to consume their old lifestyle had to come eventually. There was nothing that could stop the torrent of deaths and losses that accompanied shinobi life. Their task was to choose between raising and nurturing the tiny chick or to weep over the ashes. The girl took a deep breath to calm herself and summoned a thin smile, then a wave. "You're Sorri, right? I'm Orika. Um, Ero was uh, she was also an Ibazi like you. D'you wanna talk about what happened to her? I'm curious to know." People didn't come to Shimagakure because their lives were doing fine and dandy on the mainland. Everyone was a refugee from some place or another. So, it made no sense to turn their new home into a battleground, from which everyone fled from. After a pause to collect her thoughts, she cheerfully turned to the wild boy and gave him a thumb's up and declared, "I ain't backing down in our fight if you two don't."

The snake child had remained on a knee and listened to his peers around him. Most of what they said was rubbish. The silver eyed reaper had decided on who was strong, fast and had brains? Trivial. It would just be better for one to have all three traits. There was also the other thing he stated. Friendship and bonds? What a futile notion. “Bonds are nothing more than weighted chains… only set to wear a person down.” the kid analysis thought. The white haired boy had a better understanding of what it was over the two tanned teens. Bonds breaking. The older boy had stated. Orika also brought up a decent point. You never knew who or how those bonds would be broken. What was the point in keeping them for fortune to split it herself? One should cut them off instead. Breaking these links from others to become free. Isn’t that what Seshiro and the one named Sachiriku did? Friends family and kin. They chose neither Shima nor Orochi and turned on their path to whatever they searched for. When Shisei thought of it that way, he felt slight appreciation for the older Orochi.
The feeling faded fast when the viper child returned to his feet. “Feh… You’re the second one finished. Perhaps you are the fastest…” his breath stated, turning away from the diva’s face. If she was faster then it was only by a little. That could be compensated for. As long as the snake child was faster and stronger than that imp… that was all he needed to discern. The dread head did not understand why the lion keeper would want to challenge her though? A capsule of adrenaline Orika was, yet she didn’t give off the aura of a fighter. At least in Shisei’s mind. Well if worse came to worse the two of them could entertain one another on their foolish links with family and friends.
Pale ears then caught wind of the Raiken’s name. Karite had stated it, unintentionally or intentionally it did not matter. “Raiken Serena…” the serpent youth let the two words play through his mind. The other who wanted to be his rival. Pale lips did not state anything to her. Instead Shisei would watch to see how she progressed. If she could progress. “Kick my face… you’d be eating dirt long before that happens. Continue with your exercise though. I can’t take such a threat seriously if you’re wheezing over the first pull up.” The small situated itself under the bar. Before making another aggressive jump the snake child decided to take a deep breath in. After a second he exhaled trying to loosen up his body from being stiff.
