Lin nodded happily as she leaned forward and tried to knock as well. Not that her arms were probably long enough.
"Mommy says you can't ever make things back the way they were, time keeps going."

Lore looked thoughtful, "Well... Serenity should still be with Luthien.. and I think I saw Skye go after your brother.... and Storm and Starr went after Lin... but I don't know about Celebor."
Celebor he wasn't so sure about because that boy could wander anywhere.

Earendil opened the door a crack and peered inside, but the curtain was pulled over the window and there were no torches lit. He closed the door again and frowned.
"I wonder where he is," he mused thoughtfully. Suddenly he realized, "Ah ... he must have gone for dinner. It's about that time again ..."
He looked at Lin and grinned. "What do you say? Dinner?"

Elnara laughed. "Well, he knows to ask for directions if he gets lost, so I'm not too worried about him. He knows the language nearly as well as I do by now, so ..."
No, she was confident that he would be all right, as long as he didn't get into any arguments with anyone.

"Then he'll be at dinner, if he doesn't realize it, he'll begin asking when he's hungry," Lore reasoned.
And to be fair Celebor was suppose to be in theory a 'growing boy'. Not in a literal sense but the sense that he did use up a lot of energy.

"Dinner already?" Lin blinked in surprised.
Time really passed by fast.
She nodded, "Dinner! Then other people will be there too!"
Who knows what else will be at the dinner table?

Earendil grinned. "My father will be there as well, if you want to try bugging him again," he told Lin with a chuckle. "He still doesn't know any English at all, but you can try."
To be honest, he wasn't the only one who was amused by Lin's obsession with bothering Ruel: he knew his mother, sister and grandmother were amused by it as well.

"I'm sure he will," Elnara agreed. "He's a bright boy, after all."
She looked up as they approached the wide double door of the Dining Hall and swallowed nervously. This, then, would be where she would run into everyone else who she hadn't seen yet ...
"Here we are," she murmured, squeezing Lore's hand, seeking reassurance and comfort.

Lore took her head out of reflex, but now it had become second nature. It wasn't that hard to tell when she became nervous, it seemed like at times whenever she was about to meet more people it would put her on edge.
"You'll be there with the kids, me and Lin," Lore murmured quietly, "You'll be fine."

Lin smiled, "Well he has to get use to me, then he wouldn't frown so much. Maybe it would be better if I could talk to him, then he can't ignore me as easily."
Maybe that was it, because he couldn't understand what she was saying and it sounded like gibberish. She knew Japanese sounded like gibberish to her, even though she was kind of learning.

Elnara smiled faintly but couldn't find the strength to reply, and taking a deep breath she led Lore, Silvrendir, and Idhril into the Dining Hall.

There were several people already present in the Dining Hall, seated along both sides of the table. At the head of the table was Atalya, who was quickly joined by her husband. She had Storm and Starr sitting on the table in front of her, though Storm was shirtless and looked like he was sleeping. Then there were several empty chairs, then Skye, then Elrohir and Haradhel. On the other side of the table, beginning at the head, was Celebor, then Ruel, Luthien, Serenity, Tinuviel, Daeron, and Mikhail.
Most of them smiled as Elnara and Lore entered, but Ruel's face grew dark.
Earendil chuckled at Lin. "Maybe I should try to teach you our language," he replied with amusement. "You're very smart, I'm sure you could do it. What do you think?"
He picked up his pace a bit and started hurrying towards the Dining Hall.

Lore was relieved to see mostly smiling faces, though the dark faced Ruel worried him. Though he took comfort in the fact as he tried to play the brave one and help Elnara through this by leading Elnara to the empty chairs, that Atalya would never let violence break out.

"Really?" Lin asked with bright eyes, "That would be fun! It's only a language more."
One would suppose after having to learn two other languages one more wasn't going to kill her.
"It'll be fun, and then I can talk with everyone."
Because quite frankly some accents made it quite difficult for her.

Elnara followed Lore closely, and despite the fact that nearly every face there was cheerful, she couldn't bring herself to look away from the one that was so filled with hatred.
Her eyes were drawn, however, to Storm, who was lying on the table directly in front of the place where Lore was leading her to. It wasn't like him to sleep during a meal ...
Starr smiled at Elnara from where she was sitting beside her brother. "It's okay, Mama," she called out, patting Storm's head gently with one hand. "He just overheated."
Those had been Lin's words, anyways.
Beside Ruel, Celebor fidgeted and frowned, confused. He poked his uncle in the side and asked him in elvish, "Why are you looking at Nana like that? That's not nice at all."
