LadyHealingHands Taylor - congrats on achieving THIRD YEAR! I loved your two photos in the Post Pictures of Yourself thread! I love your necklace in the second one, and it looks like you're cuddling a purple Puffskein! And thanks for your suggestion about a question to enter the common room. We have that in place just for first time posters I may change the question from time to time for first timers right now the way it's phrased is very deliberate (a tip of the witches cap to Orna who noticed) and the way it's answered gives me a lot of insight to our new Ravenclaw. What do the rest of you think? Do you want check for new questions before you post? I can place another question for "older" Ravenclaws. I imagine a question would stay for a while, maybe a week or two, and once you've answered it, you don't have to answer it again until a new question is posted. But you would have to check each time you posted. Thank you very much. And thanks for the comments on the pictures. I like the second one best though my face looks a bit twisted. As for the question, I love thinking and such so I would love for it to change. And if you need suggestions, I am sure we could all help you out. I love the more inspirational questions. =]

I don't know - I would actually enjoy a fairly hard riddle/question to solve just for fun. Have everyone attempt to figure it out - get the brain working really hard.

I would like something hard because quite frankly, I get bored and school we don't really use the creative side of us much. I like questions like the type we have already. You know, something about yourself that you have to think a while about.

OK - Looks like folks are in favor of questions --I'm gonna need suggestions, as this is a super busy time of year for me and it'll be work to think of good questions. I've put one up now. *Hums a tune from a Clay Aiken album playing in the background*
A few weeks ago I got tickets to a taping of 'Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader.' Turns out it was a celebrity edition - we saw two tapings, both with former American Idol contestants, one with Clay Aiken, one with Kelly Pickler. They'll be shown in November, during sweeps.

How would you measure a person's worth? A person is priceless in my opinion. It doesn't matter if I like them or not. Excuse my religious beliefs here, but I believe all people are created equal and each one of their souls God picks each person's soul indivitually and that to me makes them priceless.
Was my answer good?? Naw, I know it wasn't. Sorry it wasn't that good.

How would you measure a person's worth?
The first things that popped in my head were two songs "Seasons of Love" (RENT) and "Heart on my Sleeve" (Idina Menzel) .
The first, because RENT is a show (both the movie and the play) that changed how I view people. They discuss how you measure the life of a person - and in doing so you measure the worth of a person - by what they do to fill that life. After seeing this movie, I realized how much I was measuring a person's worth by what they owned, how they dressed, and even how they treated themselves. I've learned since that all of those things, and even how they treat others, is not how you see a person's worth -- what a person shows the world and who they truly are, are sometimes completely opposite things. I've learned that I can no longer judge a person's worth.
The second because so much of that song is me - I grew up with people telling me that I wore my heart on my sleeve and I could see them dismissing me as not worthwhile. Because I know that I was worth so much more than what people were judging me as.
Overall, I think that it is difficult to measure a person's worth. Firstly, because we tend to judge rather then measure - and usually once we meet them. Only people that we feel are 'worthwhile' by that encounter do we have an opportunity to measure the worth of a person - and it is definitely not a finite thing.
[Yeesh, I can ramble!]

Thank you. So how is everyone? Middle school drama is on the ball right now. I hate it. My best friend is in DisneyLand because her sister is getting married. My other best friend had her boyfriend stolen by her other friend. I told her while ago but the other girl who is supposedly her "best buddie" just told her today after 2 weeks. haha. I don't have any of my own drama as of about an hour ago. It has been resolved. Oh and my best friend from church has been sexually assulted twice already in the past two or three weeks alone. haha. Yes, my school life has not been pretty lately. But good news. I got an interm thing abnd I have straight 100 except for one 99 and two 101s. I was so proud of myself. I usually get 97's on average but this year, it's been good. So how has everyone been?

Life's been ok - I've lost some weight on the diet I'm on and I'm currently in Orlando hanging out and helping out at the NAEMT conference for my dad. Bad thing - one of my friends from school (which is not where I'm currently living) attempted suicide the other night.. and I can't be there to help her out, so I'm doing what I can to help her. It's not a good situation, but I'll be her shoulder and pray for her.

Wow, Orna. I am kinda speechless. My best friend in 6th grade was suicidial and I didn't know it. She had it all planned out but some reason, I guess for me and her sister pulled her through. My other best friend was aneriox (sp?) for a while. I didn't know her then that well. SUicide is a sore subject to me because of that. Ughh.... I am really sorry. They are in my prayers

Thanks, it was kind of a shock to me as well. I've been in a low place like that because of an event of my life - but I was able to pull myself out of it. I had no idea she had gotten so low with her life.
I'm really glad that your friend is ok now!
