Smiling wanly at the girl, she looked back towards the ship. Unfortunatly she knew no more then what she had started with.
Well, it seems like we shall begin a grand adventure together then.

*Whilst Mr. Quasan recorded & sounded out the fathoms, Kurisutofa climbed upon the bowsprit and made his way into the standing stay'sle lines. The wind whipped about him as the water hit him from the right, knocking him off his feet. Grabbing a stayline, he steadied himself and made his way down the length of the sprit.*

With her attention back on the ship at sea she could see how the ocean tossed the Lady about. The sight of it made her stomache roll at the memories of storms as well as mouth-fulls of saltwater. Hoping the crew was alright she anxiously waited for the ship to dock.

*Now within a cables length of the safety of the harbor, Kurisutofa turned and bellowed some final orders to the Crew on deck, now awaiting the next sail rotation.*
"ALL HANDS TO THE YARDS! REEF ALL SAILS AND FURL AWAY! PACK 'EM TIGHT SO AS TO KEEP 'EM DRY. CANVAS IS EXPENSIVE."
*Tightrope walking the sprit, he jumped down upon the foc'stle deck and then climbed over the side and into the shrouds. He was the Captain, but he wasn't apart from climbing into teh rig and assisting with the stowing of sails. Mr. Quasan had last called out the depth to be about 3 1/2 fathoms. It would be enough to bring her in. The harbor was trenched and allowed for deep water hulls, thereofre the 200 ton brig would slip in easily. It was all a matter of getting the sails furled and stowed away.
"Quickly now, boys! Heave her in and square away!! Smartly now."

Arriving at the shoreline, Baxter began to scan the area in search of the Lady. He did not know whether he would find her still ashore undergoing repairs, or if she was at sea, so he looked.
The storm had slowed them down, and he was no doubt overdue. He did not know for sure though as it would seem he lost his pocketwatch during the chaos of battle.

*Extending the spyglass in front of him, he gazed once more out upon shore. There, umongst the South Street peers, was the good Doctor himself, Reginald Baxter & his accompamiment, Miss Jaden.
Returning to his place upon the Quarterdeck, the Captain took up his speaking trumpet and called out to Doctor Baxter...*
"AHOY! BAXTER!!! SHORE AHOY!!!
WE'RE COMING INTO THE NAVAL YARD ON THE EASTSIDE OF TOULON. LET US RENDEVOUS THERE. IF YOU'D BE SO KIND AS TO OPEN THE LARGE WATERGATE FOR US, I WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE OF YOU FOR DOING SUCH THINGS. I'LL SEE YOU ASHORE DOCTOR."
*The weather's threat now behind them, he waved at Baxter as if he had not a care in the world. The Lady was now safe in harbor with only the docking & mooring proceedures laying before them... and the woman.*

Glancing at the woman beside her, Syn noticed the worry on her face and she laughed aloud, drawling in a husky voice tinged with a slight accent, "Aye, don't ye be worryin', m'lady. If that ship is worth anythin' the crew should be fine, despite the rollin's and such."
Hearing the captain's voice, she raised her eyebrows and jerked her head toward the ship. "M'lady, perhaps ye should go talk to the Cap'n first. I've a feelin' he's much more inclined to talk a lovely thing like yourself than a scruffy one like me."

Baxter didn't even bother to reply; he knew his voice would not carry far enough to be heard.
Instead he promptly turned around and walked back up the peer. He then turned right and proceeded east. What should have been an easy walk to the eastern yard was made difficult and tedious by the rubble blocking the roads. This required him to walk far out of the way.
When he finally arrived and saw the massive gate shielding the inner sanctum that was the naval yard. He located and entered the gatehouse on the right side of the gate. There he found a large wheel rigged to a chain. This obviously opened at least one of the doors of the gateway. He grabbed it and pulled with all his strength. The wheel turned with such ease that he almost lost his balance and fell. Regaining himself he realized that the pully system controlling the gate must be rather elaborate. As he turned the wheel, he looked out through a small window in the gatehouse watching one of the doors swing inward through the water. After that was done he walked the shoreline to the other gatehouse and proceeded to swing that door open as well.
He then awaited the Lady's arrival.

"Thank you, Doctor, you've always been such a gentleman. Holding the heavy doors open for such gentile Lady's."
*As the Lady drew within 150 yards of the gates, the Captain roared out to the crew that was milling about aimlessly.*
"MR. QUASAN, READY TO AWAY THE LONGBOAT! I WANT YOU TO TAKE A FULL BOAT'S CREW ABOARD. YOU ARE TO TAKE UP A TOWLINE AND PROCEED TO BRING THE LADY INTO HER PROPER BERTH WITHIN THE NAVAL YARD. I WANT THIS SHIP DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE BOOM CRANE THAT IS LOCATED AT INNER MOST PART OF THIS PORT. THERE, WE'LL HAVE MISS ARE'S GUN CREW LOAD ABOARD THE NEW GUNS THAT I HAVE ARRANGED FOR. ALSO, ONCE YOUR FINISHED TOWING US IN, I WANT YOU TO GO TO THE NEAREST OPERATING BUTCHER AND FIND OUT HOW MUCH HE WANTS TO BE PAID FOR 24 CASKS OF SALTED BEEF AND 26 CASKS OF SALTED PORK. THAT WILL BE ALL."

((I'm sorry I fell behind, I haven't been around lately. I am caught up, though.))
*Omi was unsure of her orders. She had noticed some of the others stowing things away, though, so she proceeded to do the same, hoping that it would help.*

Baxter sat down on a large piece of concrete and mortar that had once been part of a building. He watched the Lady come in and make berth.

*As Mr. Quasan urged the boatmen on as they rowed, the towline took up slack and the Lady glided through the water like a dove upon the wind.*
"PULL TOGETHER MEN! TWO MORE DEEP STROKES...
TOSS YOUR OARS! SMARTLY NOW. BRING HER ALONG SIDE."
*As the Midshipman had the boats crew pull up their oars, the longboat gently pushed itself into the dock and bounced off. As the boat team settled the longboat and stowed it's tiller, oars & tied off the bowline, the Lady still loomed up behind them, traveling at .5 knots. Then the order was given.*
"ASHORE! STANDBY TO RECIEVE BOW, STERN & SPRINGLINES! - BOWLINE: "RUN IT FORWARD AND BEND HER AROUND THE PILING AND THEN TO THAT DAMNED CLEAT THERE UPON THE DOCK. THEN RUN THE REMAINING LINE BACK THROUGH THE HAWSER & BELAY." - SPRINGLINE: "TAKE THIS AFTLINE AND RUN IT FORWARD TO THE talk2hand EYEHOOK THAT'S UPON THE DOCK THERE AMIDSHIP. RUN IT THROUGH THE EYE AND THEN TOSS IT BACK ONDECK. DECK, YOU SHALL THEN PULL IN ANY SLACK IN THE LINE, RUN IT THROUGH THE HAWSER AND BELAY."
- STERNLINE: "RUN IT AFT AND BEND IT ABOUT THAT THERE CLEAT. WARP, SET AND BELAY THE STERNLINE. WITH THE REMAINING TAIL END OF THE LINE, RUN IT BACK THROUGH THE STERNSCUTTLE HOLE AND BELAY."
*The Lady operated like clockwork as she was brought in to her berth.*
"AWAY BOW & AFT MOORING LINES! AWAY ALL!"

Syn gave a piercing whistle of pleased surprise since she had been unsure how long it would take for the ship to make berth at the shore. Patting Tuslo on the head once, she took a few steps closer to the ship, feeling the sand rush around her feet in the wind and rain, which was fortuantely dying down, if only gradually. She looked the ship up and down, years spent watching ships of all kinds allowing her to see exactly how well made of a ship the Lady was. Fine quality, sturdy... hardy crew as well, it seemed. She chuckled and folded her arms over her chest, Tuslo squawking and fighting to regain his balance on her shoulder. Her somewhat wet clothes were drying off in places as the rain became more sparse, droplets running off the ends of her wild hair. The hammer in her grasp was placed in a special buckle she had sewed on herself to hold the former carpenter's tool. An old tune that she had heard the children sing in the streets came back to her as she waited and watched, floating from her lips in an eerie sing-song chant. "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me..."

As the Lady came closer her her heart lept into her throat. She could feel it buldg and beat until she thought it would explode. Standing next to the crazy accountant she prepared herself for the crew to spill out onto the beach.
