Besides, dwarven axes are tiny, Marauder axes might be better, especially since their arms are beefy and human sized.

I was hoping to find one handed axes two handed are good but I dont want my guys all holding them. Some at least need to hold their lasguns

Then marauder weapons are perfect, they look pretty swell on guards, I've seen plenty of converted ctachans use them (using the deathworld thingy from the current/old guard codex) but also used on cadians for traitors.

Plus the Marauder axes have in most cases almost no decoration ruining the weapon and arm holding it. Though they are plastic, which is always a pro when it comes to cleaning things.

Sooo, has any one actually seen the Valkyrie dropping some Storm Troopers in with that special Mish?
Its incredibly fun when my ally dropped beside my friends Chaos Lord and his retinue (All in Power armour, didn't expect Ap3 Hellguns) And shot the s**t out of them, one of his guard survived and then charged, but did nothing, then the Sergeant chopped his head off.
So, any one seen them in battle yet?

Which special mission did he use? How big was the squad and what was the loadout?

And it's good to hear that they are doing well so early on, I'd half expect people to no longer take them due to their insane increase in cost.

Im waiting to put some major hurt on people with mine. I can see it now 2 Valkyries skimming the tree before disgorging a squad each of beret wearing bad asses

didn't see them in action yet - my regular opponents from IG use vendettas as transport for special weapons squads with multimeltas, as a tank hunter teams... and elite slots they use on psyker squads, it really annoys me when my marines take pining and morale tests on ld 2 sad

Uhm, only Demolisher tanks in Guard armies can have a multi-melta.

Yea, full squad, and he gave them a Meltagun, which missed.
He used that mish which allows them to reroll scatter I think it is.

I got the last of the old catachan battle forces in my store today blaugh . any ideas for what my next buy, besides command group and officers, should be? i wanna try and keep it fluffy so i was thinking minimal tanks or at the least some hellhounds. and snipers ... both catachan and rattlings.

Personally I'm going for a Cadian infantry company, which is high on troops more than anything. It is quite a departure from my previous armies though. best thing to do is just build a basic 1k army and from there build things up in steps. I've more or less mapped how I want my army to grow and expand, most squads and models are either present or in the mail, all I need to really do is try and stick with what I got here.

Wow, the new codex is rather disappointing. I'm not that stoked on starting that Guard army anymore.
