Stream and anyone else who is interested: Remember that whole "RPing and anime" thread that Mireo had? Well, following Stream's ritual disembowelment of the thread, he went and wrote a journal entry complaining about Elitists, using thinly veiled references to Stream and to the AG. Now, the thing is chock full of Irony and hypocricy. So, because I was bored and thought I might as well post, because it needed to be said, I wrote an entry, in effect showing how hypocritical he was being, along with pretty much taking it apart piece by piece. So how does he respond? By deleting that journal entry and reposting it word for word to clear the comments. So I repost it, since I'd saved it in Word. And what does he do? Deletes and reposts again, this time adding a note for me not to repost my "hackneyed" post, along with trying to justify it by wanting to protect the anonymity of those involved. And therefore, I am now showing it to people, despite how he will now be "shocked and appalled" by my action of showing something I find amusing to my friends.

Now, normally I wouldn't go through the effort of posting this, but, y'know, it needs saying.
This post is the most ironic thing I've read in a long time, not to mention the most hypocritical. You complain about elitists, yet you're perhaps one of the most notable AMC elitists active at the moment and yet you feel the need to make a journal post relating to your hate of elitists. As a matter of fact, the second (third, if you want to count that one line as a paragraph. I chose not to) paragraph actually describes you just as well as if not better than the intended target. You put yourself on a pedestal, thinking yourself blameless and instead try to point out what you perceive to be the flaws of others while ignoring the ones in yourself. As a matter of fact, if I didn't know who you were talking about, I'd almost think this was a self-reflective piece.
On that note, why not come out and say who it is you're mad at? I think we can all guess that this is aimed at Streamjumper for his systematic dismantling of your RPing and anime thread, and that the guild you refer to is the Anti-Guild. Why not grow some balls and just admit it instead of sidestepping around it? Are you that afraid that we'll take offense at it? Awfully courteous of you to think of our feelings like that. Now, I don't give a s**t if you don't like us. That's your business.
Now then, moving on to the actual issue at hand here, you seem to be offended that Stream (and Lex, later) came in and went after your thread with evidence and experience to back up their position, which happened to be contrary to yours. Now, your post was extremely skewed. For one thing, those polls are somewhat skewed, just going by the sample. You tried one group of RPers amongst many and one sample of anime fans. If you wanted to be more thorough, you should have tried asking more people from more varied groups, because let me tell you, online RPers and Pen & Paper RPers can be very different people (Oh, and that's based on personal experience, which is just as if not more valid than the poll you took because both use random people as a guide). But I'm not here to dissect the first post. Stream did a good enough job of that and I don't want to repeat that. Neither is that why I decided to post. If I just wanted to do that, I'd post it in the actual thread.
What is it exactly about Stream's post that made you mad enough to make this post? Was it his destruction of the thread backed by examples and relevant arguments? Furthermore, what on *Earth* is "posted something rather harrowing" supposed to mean? Was it that agonizing to see someone disagree with you? Did he beat it with a farm tool? Or are you saying he tapped one green and two colorless, sacrificed a land, and searched for two basic lands to put into play? Really, was it that hard on you to read what someone who disagreed with you and stated it logically and clearly? "Biased in their analysis?" And you weren't? He was arguing a side, of course that has a bias. Pretty much in order to argue something, you need to have a bias. To state facts, being impartial helps, but when arguing a point, you need to lean to one side or another. It's kind of a fundamental difference between debate and discussion. Furthermore, speaking from experience, Stream has plenty of experience RPing, as I've said. I've discussed White Wolf games and systems with him several times. Every single time, he's know what I was talking about exactly. He knows more than I do and I've been RPing for quite a long time as well (not that you'll believe this, of course).
And really, what about the posts looked like they wanted to start a fight. I mean, given that Stream is pretty confrontational, even when normally discussing stuff. But there was nothing in his post that even indicated he was there for a fight so much as a discussion/debate about the link between RPs and anime. If you're going to try to come up with an excuse for not having any counter to any of his arguments, you could try coming up with a more truthful one. Where in his posts there did he make ad hominem attacks or use excessively strong language?
Really, you seem to take the fact that he disagreed with your post and stated exactly why as a personal attack on you. If you post something like this, you've got to expect people to disagree with you. Or did you just expect your normal crowd of blind supporters and AMC people who don't read everything and post randomly to be the only ones who see it? It wasn't an attack on you or your beliefs. It wasn't something to incite attacks. It was a counter-argument. Plain and simple.
Oh, and do you object that the AG saw it? You don't like that he told us about it? Guess what? It's not your imperative to say who talks about what. We're all friends there, we talk. Even if it came up, which I'm not sure it did, there's nothing wrong with showing an interesting post to friends. You object to that? Tough luck. And furthermore, if you think that some members of the AG don't like you because of that thread, you're wrong. Each person forms their own opinion based on what they see. We're not a hive mind, after all. And he went to us "behind your back"? Would you rather that he concluded his post saying "and now, if you don't mind, I think I shall share this with my friends in the Anti-Guild because I believe they'll find it interesting"? What right do you have to dictate who says what to whom, even if it relates to your thread. In that case, I guess I better tell you that a friend of mine and I talked about your thread. Are you offended that I talked about the posts there with it?
Shocked and appalled, eh? Have you never shared something interesting with your friends? If you do, then I guess it's my turn to be shocked and appalled. How is it at all "dishonorable and disrespectful" to share something with friends. I'll bet you think the AG functions as a group and that when one person has a gripe with someone, we all fly down on our winged monkeys to throw our aid behind it. That's not how it worked. To my recollection (my recollection being refreshed all of three seconds ago when I looked through the thread), one other AGer posted after Stream did due to him pointing it out. That's all. I would have, but my flying monkey was sleeping over at the Wicked Witch of the West's, so I didn't have any transportation. No, that's not some bizarre euphemism, that's me playing off the reference earlier.
You were "blacklisted" a long time before that thread, if by "blacklisted" you mean "were voted down for entry into the Anti-Guild." People made up their own minds about it and voted no, to my memory. We have no official blacklist. Well, okay, we do. But it really hasn't been updated since the Anti-Sticky was around. I think our printer died. And don't give me that "we think we're better than you" bullshit. Isn't that exactly what you do when you make all your nigh trolling threads with misleading titles? "Oh, but the n00bs won't read them otherwise!" Isn't that the exact sort of arrogance you accuse us of? And what about the messages? In theory, I would guess that they're to "educate" people (which is another sign of that hypocrisy, thinking that you're in a position to educate them), but they fail miserably at that. I'm not saying that trying to teach the AMC is a bad thing. However, your threads don't teach. You've lost that part which made the long educational posts worth doing, the "educational" part.
Now then, moving onto the last paragraph proper, let's take a look. Your "open chagrin" of us? Tell me, how is posting something in a public guild any more open than posting it in a journal. As a matter of fact, I only found out about this because my friend told me about this itself. That's much more open than a guild you can find by hitting the search button in GGN. I call hypocrite and irony. You have no tolerance towards it yet practice it every day? Irony and hypocrite again. No one deserves to be subjected to such a treatment, eh? Unless they come into your thread and don't read the first post or agree with you completely? Hypocrite and irony once more. And vowing to do your best to protect against them? Does that mean that you're going to stop making threads to enrage the n00bs and expecting everyone to agree with you and taking all disagreements as personal attacks? Regardless, there's one last helping of hypocrisy for you, as well as delicious irony.
Oh, and by the way, I and have not run to the Guild with this, so there's no need to get shocked and appalled yet.
