Mm, so I'm too lazy right now to re-read my post like I should, so if there are any mistakes. . . then I apologize.
@Nova; I will be editing my profile after all I suppose. If I remember correctly, I just send you my whole profile and put the new bits in a different color, right?

I agree. Goosebumpy.....also if it talked, it would be like Dark's dragon too.
The ability mechanics are working for me, but why would aeora pick up such an item? The changes in the characters are not as random as they appear. The changes that occur happen because if the person had lived those 500 years or a portion of them, the changes that are visible are a result of an action the person would have taken during that time. For your lady to have the mask, it would mean that she would have encountered it and liked what it could do. Of course, because of the time shift she would not know that. She would just have the mask hanging around her neck or wherever she keeps it. Is an evil puppeteer mask something aeora would willingly wear and use if she had the choice and knew about it and what it was capable of?

Rose, a girl with telepathic powers and only 17 years old, happens to get her hand on a slim sword and is capable of killing off multiple trained soldiers armed with magical swords and rifles without any strength or speed that would make her anything more than a typical teenage girl? She also didn't get a scratch in the process.....and now she is going to join in the frey and possibly get surrounded and mobbed, and that will probably happen if she isn't shot from a distance first since she is only human and must run the distance.....do you need more edits to your profile ma'am? sweatdrop
edit: I saw the above post after reading back. I'm so glad we click like that 3nodding I was worried you didn't realize how funny rose was starting to sound with all that machoness.

Oh, goosebumps. How that does that bring back a wave of nostalgia.
To be honest, in my head Aeora gets into the strangest situations on her travels. So from my point of view it isn't a ridiculous concept. I will most likely work out the specific situation in my head, or at least outline it, since it could be interesting in how she did in fact come across it.
Of course how these things usually start out is the unwilling, however more powerful, wearer doesn't initially know their blessed object is evil. The time shift could easily account for a lack of knowledge in that case, if we're assuming she once knew about its true nature at all.
Then again, if we were to simply scratch the "evil" bit, I'd still be game.

Videre just spreads out the matter that makes up a person and practically turns them into a gas right? You are not actually going into another dimension or making it for your atoms to become untouchable right? In the gaseous state, they simply just move around objects that pass through the body right?

Basically. Videre rapidly divides matter into a near-molecular level, with every piece spread out - theoretically she could be everywhere on earth at once if given enough time - and operating individually in how they move, but with a centralized brain. That brain being Aeora's.
If there was tech advanced enough it could indeed affect her. But how? Divide an atom? Or just shock her into returning to her normal form? Food for thought.

I created a character a long time ago with the ability to absorb energy and go into a gaseous state. Super fast and the ability to solidify and blow away matter already present the way you killed the one soldier were already a part of this character I made. I suppose dividing an atom would be one way to damage someone in this gas form, but I was thinking of something more simple: explosions. In order to use the ability, the brain must be active and in control, which means signals must be sent to the particles in the rest of the spread out body. In order for the brain to think and send the signals, the brain particles must be fairly close to allow the thought processes to take place. That occurs when synapses connect and small volts of electricity are passed through the connection. Static electricity of the voltage isn't strong enough to pass through great distances (example would be rubbing your head with a balloon and then touching someone. the proximity of the brain particles would have to be at least that close). Explosions or blasts of energy would blow the brain particles too far apart to communicate and the person would die or at least come back together and be knocked out of the gas state.

I would say that if in that situation, Aeora would make use of her ability while in Videre to sense movement throughout the air. Therefore she could sense the projectile coming in her direction and scoot her atoms out of the way. Unless it was an explosion that didn't originate in an airborne projectile. It couldn't be on the ground, however, because there would be no weight to set it off.
At that, would there be anything stopping her from returning to the gaseous state, save possibly for some time spent recovering from the shock of being forced into her normal form? ...numerous explosions?

A Wicked Dawn I would say that if in that situation, Aeora would make use of her ability while in Videre to sense movement throughout the air. At that, would there be anything stopping her from returning to the gaseous state, save possibly for some time spent recovering from the shock of being forced into her normal form? ...numerous explosions? I would assume there would be a degree of shock to recover from. The wall of energy that would separate the atoms and make you come back together (I assume since you don't want her dieing obviously) would cause you to go brain dead for the moments that your brain is out of control. This means lungs stop, heart stop, bowels stop, etc etc....when you come back together, it would be like recieving a shot of adrenaline to the heart or shock paddles to the chest. You would restart all the necessary and involuntary processes over again, which can be painful and time consuming. Even if only for a moment, it would be long enough to make you vulnerable to damage from another source if not the same blast that took you out of the gas form.....I didn't give much thought to the limitations injuries would give to going into the gaseous state though...

I doubt I'll focus on the bowels bit but I would assume the same effects overall.
It would have to depend on the level of injury naturally... but thinking on it, I would say that since common injuries cannot harm you on a molecular level, it shouldn't be a problem. For argument's sake I would put in a time delay on her either entering or leaving Videre.
An injury of the brain is what would really give me pause. But then again a brain injury would cause anyone to reconsider their in-post actions, let alone how it would affect complicated powers. Then again again, Videre isn't really complex for her... a natural racial ability that is just like breathing. If we could consider Videre an instinctive action then it could be a reaction to becoming injured, and not be hampered by it at all.
