Hey. Just everyone chill. It's Sunday. It's relaxation day. Except for judges who have to finish their grading.

Old Man KB
# Registrants are expected to be able to commit to the tournament upon entering. Each match is expected to last for one week each, which then, all of them will be concluded for judging. Fighters will be given a few days to present themselves for their match, and it is recommended that after signing up, you keep track of the tournament's progress. Having to send out PMs to everyone who does not show up at the time of a branch's start can become a daunting task.

Not to insult your intelligence, but even if it said a post a day, if they aren't posting for a whole week... that isn't a post a day, is it?

I just assumed that you were referring to all the other fighters, like you were earlier, in that they should be able to push out a page a day, like you.

Why is it so goddamn hard to find a decent price on Matcha? D: Or.. even to find any matcha at all in my area. I live in little ******** Asia. You'd think they would have some somewhere.

The fact that they're passing a round without having to fight and win.

Which is what this is all about, them having to prove themselves. This is a point-based tournament where even if you're KO'd or ******** killed, if you were the better roleplayer you can proceed in the tournament. So... if both fighters make two posts, and the fight isn't concluded, it's entirely possible that the person "leaving" the tournament could still be the winner.

...so if both fighters don't post ICly any portion of their fight that is gradable, they don't just win automatically, because you need to get MORE points then your opponent to win. Not just, y'know, be there.

The only difference being DQ's, like Austin pretty much got a by because Sin DQ'd himself. It's still really gay, but that's why Austin has to deal with penalties. ( Because he let himself get owned like a p***y )

I dun know where my opponent is. He literally hasn't posted anything since the start of the first round. Actually, he hasn't posted anything at all, from what I can see.

I can't find him around here anywhere.

I'm starting to doubt that he ever existed in the first place.

I dunno.

I just seem to try to get better at the game rather than get better at a character, since I always have trouble sticking with a main.

I mean, I did always like picking Fei Long and Guile in SF2. They sucked in vanilla, but they're better now so I pick them much more often.

You're thinking about this too hard.

It being point based doesn't matter, all that matters is if someone wins or loses.

it's like if you went to a karate tournament and the matches were decided based on points. If somebody didn't show up, the other person would still get a bye.

It's tournament, you don't progress by proving yourself, you progress by winning. Two different things. You could prove yourself as a competent player and still lose, doesn't mean you move on.

I mean, if two people make two posts, but the one person disappears off of the face of the planet before the fight can even start, it's their fault. They're the one holding things up, it's their turn.

My statement earlier wasn't good enough, so, I shall repeat myself.

Retarded.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 27, 2010 3:18 pm

Which is factored into by the deduction of points for each day that they aren't present. But say I came in, made 3 AMAZING posts, and then some retard came in and made 4 completely illegible, s**t posts, even if I didn't come back for a week I'd likely still win just because I'm the better roleplayer.

That being said, "winning and losing" in an IC sense have little impact on whether you win or lose your round OOCly.

It's something I've been trying to stress to tournament staff, but they don't seem to understand. KB might be incredibly hard to defeat ICly, but... that doesn't mean anything. If KB manages to beat the s**t out of someone IC, but I do it incredibly poorly or just godmod through the whole fight, the other guy is still going to win even though he "lost" ICly. That's the entire purpose of the point structure, and why only a fraction of your success is based off your IC victory.

I never said what you think or don't think about the judges. That's none of my business.

Rectifying mistakes is very nice, but if you're going to fix something then you oughta fix it correctly. Making the leftover three competitors fight under time constrictions that no other competitor - even the ones who got late opponents - had to fight in ISN'T fair.

If we really want these three to earn their spot in Round 2, then they better do it under the same stipulations as the rest of us.

Hey KB, have you ever seen or played AT-43 Table Top?

I've seen it in a big ol' box on the wall. I think that's the one made by a French company, or some s**t. Apparently its good, but... I've never played it, so I can't say for sure either way. All the models and stuff come prepainted and assembled though, I think.

Well, maybe that's my problem, when you think about it. I'm still not good "at the game." It's a wonder why people like Buktooth, a great El Fuerte player here in the states, is good because he has been to Evo many times playing a variety of good characters. He gave good insights on strategy on El Fuerte's pros and cons, so he knows what he's talking about.

However, TKD in Japan JUST picked up Street Fighter and El Fuerte was his first and only character. And he got damn good. However, the thing with him is that he practiced almost everyday since the game's release at the arcade. Even gave up a girlfriend to keep getting better, so really, it's my lack of practice and real life interference why I probably won't get as good as I want with El Fuerte for another year or so. I can either sacrifice everything to try to be good at Street Fighter or remain "decent" and continue on etching out a life for myself.

KB: Yes, they do. Apparently it has a really good rule set.
