I saw lottie on....why didn't she post for damian? She just allowing him to stay unconcious for a while longer? A few other people are missing as well....school isn't here yet and everyone is taking time off....I wonder if the school year will actually be better since we won't have random vacations and summer events going on anymore.....the rp will just have to compete with homework then?..hm...

I'm hitting my easy year, bu t I'll still be stacked with homework. No offense, but Gaia as a WHOLE will be competing with my homework in about two weeks. And I'm starting hip hop classes.

To Novama (and anyone else who may have input): My intention for the gasmask that appeared with Aeora was for it to be a small manifestation of the magic that went down in the ritual chamber. It could bestow a power upon Aeora - really just an extension of one of her existing ones. The idea is that when she wears the mask and goes into Videre, she can essentially possess a host - she would use this in various ways, but the most obvious reason - controlling the actions of a person - wouldn't happen immediately, and obviously could only happen with an npc victim.
A couple examples for my intentions: Aeora can take shelter in a host body for a small amount of time - too long and the host can work through it to shut her out, if it is a being of a greater-mind. A lesser person (not as powerful) wouldn't be able to. Also she can exit Videre while in the host and tear it to shreds from the inside out. twisted
Aeora won't immediately master it of course, and if the "puppeteering" aspect ever came into effect I would have it be near the end of the RP, or at least a while from now.
Delightful stuff. But I'm asking if this change would be acceptable, or if I should just figure out a lesser use for the mask. Because while this is a realistic extent of her powers (to me), I don't want people to think I'm stockpiling her with superpowers. I thought that since others were adding abilities to their characters due to the time shift, this would be an appropriate time.
*breath* ALSO. I thought I said it a while ago, but recently realized I made that up, so thank you for the manga recommendations Novama. Monster sounds pretty sweet.

Even though you only mentioned the puppeteer for just npc's, I don't see why you can't take over pc's as well, as long as you notify and get permission from the rp'er first. I also don't know why you need the mask to do that. I say get rid of using the mask as anything more than to accessorize your look. I will also need an edited profile with the added puppeteer ability.

The purpose of the mask itself was a bit of a character plot point. Mind of its own, desiring more souls/lives/whatever, eventually compelling Aeora to systematically possess and kill, etc etc. And the yummy conflictions that come with such a thing. Power vs morality, the whole shebang.

the face mask similar to a gas mask is some type of demonic, soul seeking item with a craving for greater power and manipulates aeora? Sounds similar to shin's dark side only yours is something tangible...why would she put the mask on? Does it actually boost her powers....oh wait....so wearing the mask allows her videre to puppeteer? The only way to kill is to switch out of videre by taking the mask off though?

...is it similar? Now that I think of it in the context you put it in, it isn't the most original idea. Sounded better in my head. Still workable, though, if that path is taken.
. Unless we made the mask talk telepathically, (which I wouldn't like, but it's an option), Aeora would most likely put it on out of pure curiousity. It's in her nature to gather as much life experience as she can, whether that be in the form of knowledge or power or what-have-you. This mask appeared out of nowhere after the time-shift, and to top that off it has scribblings on the inside. Why would those writings be present? Did it have a previous owner? Are you able to see something special when you put it on? Does it have something to do with the ritual chamber? Let's put it on and find out, consequences be damned. So on and so forth.
. The mask itself should have the property to enhance abilities already present in its wearer. Yes, it allows Aeora to possess live hosts and subsequently allows her to puppeteer.
. The mask can be worn out of Videre, since the mask has to be put on before Videre to have any effect. So no, the kill can take place with the mask still on, and can be removed later.
There's also the potential for the mask to be "mildly" unwilling to come off. Possession of the possessors! Dun-dun-dun.
