hey, congrats! biggrin I'm glad for all the good news. it does suck, though, that economic pressures can have this strong of an effect on people....
also, congratulations for your friend. ^_^ their family unit sounds like the start of a beautiful beginning. I would caution about Coast Guard, of course... the Gulf is a pretty violent place right now....

I'm trying to decide on a new screen name. I'm leaning towards "Maja the Selkie" or "Cagans Selkie" or "Catalina Selkie" or something with "Selkie" in it. I'm also thinking about "Carcharodon Comics" which is a potential name for my art studio (which consists of a table in the corner of my bedroom). I'm really into the water-thing right now, what with Scuba classes and fantasizing about a Master's in Marine Biology or a Doctorate in marine medicine.
But nothing sounds RIGHT yet. razz Ideas? Suggestions?

mrgreen I think I've been watching Ondine too much. It's soothing when I'm working through Physics problems. Other water-creatures would also be of interest.

Isn't Sahuagen related to a specific fan-dom? (of which I know nothing about. xp ) I think there's a Polynesian myth about the bride of the shark king (who is naturally a Great White). I wish I could find it--I've only ever seen a reference to it once.

I can actually picture with rows of serrated teeth, backrows ready to replace broken are missing ones emmediately. but Polynesia has some awesome cultural background! biggrin it can't be THAT hard to find...

ScarletFrost When I Wikipedia'ed it, it was part of a Japanese sci-fi series. xd wonderful.! xd this is why I google search from non-wiki sites first. but speaking of which, this right here is why the Canadian national anthem starts with the line "oh, Canada." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY07skX1vCk&feature=relmfu

in case any of you were wondering...
drunk cruising on roller blades that are a size too small, have no brakes and have wheels worn thin on the inside is a bad idea.... especially without pads and helmet.
I just got back home from such an escapade, and it's a miracle 5 times that I'm alive right now.

Haven't bee on in what seems like forever sweatdrop
For those who keep track of such things, I'm now fully qualified, graduated, moved back to my home town, and wholly unemployed...**sigh** I thought I had a lead, but alas, no dice. So I get to be stuck at home, trawling job sites, sewing things, looking into ways to upskill and playing online/offline games...man I wish I was working xd
I hope everyone else is well...& chief, I hope you're not too battered after your skating escapade, I think I could have saved you some trouble, since I've been there, mind you I wasn't drunk, I'm just clumsy naturally. sweatdrop

heh. I'm built of tougher stuff than most folks. ^_^ not even bleeding.
sorry for your joblessness. sad economy is rough all over the globe right now. I hate being stuck at home -- hence, my inebriated idea earlier. so I can totally sympathize. I can't wait till the morning comes so I can get to school.

No job yet this week.
Have been thinking harder on school, and art...
A friend of mine is trying to sell her art in a local gallery now, and trying to sell online. I think she is being a little overzealous with her pricing, but if she actually sells something, more power to her...
Yet seeing her actually doing something has got me wishing I could motivate myself to do so as well... But I am waiting to see if she actually sells a piece in the first month. If so, I might think more seriously about it...
As for the comic thing... I have really gotten the itch for it since I started Red... My husband has kinda been nudging me a bit to get one of my old scripts back out and work on them, and I kinda want to when I get the lines for Red finished. My problem still seems to be that there are not enough hours in a day.
My brother is also wanting to get back into oil painting, and I told him that he should, and he told me that when he did, I was going to do it with him. I have never been much of a painter, but he isn't planning on leaving me any choice, and I kinda think I would like to give it another go...
So if a job doesn't pull through for me right away, I at least know I have plenty to do. sweatdrop
