w00t! I never thought the sky could make such a green hue! smile Granted, I've seen the sky pitch black earlier today. I love severe weather, as long as there's no tornadoes. biggrin

I love all weather... the more crazy the better in myt book! I stayed home during the last Hurricane! I had a blast doing so! But hey I am just your local crazy Lamb! blaugh

^_^ I had a bad experience when I was little when there was a tornado going through, now I'm getting better with storms. biggrin I don't go hide in the basement when the sirens go off for a thunderstorm warning. I just wish you could see this beautiful green hue.

Anyway you can get a picture and upload it online?

If not I can only imagine! I bet it is beautiful!

>.< unfortunately, my poor quality cameras are unable to pick up the current light refraction from the storm. But imagine a thunderstorm rolling through where the sky is more of a pea green color instead of blue/grey.

Oh wow.. yeah I wish I could see that.. and I would have that song playing that I posted with one of my comments to it smile

This is what it looked like earlier, now due to the setting sun, it's turned a rather nice orange. surprised

Izzy - Your sky sounds really interesting. I've always found that some things you just have to experience in person - cameras just can't do it justice. We often get these incredible full rainbows here that are just breathtaking. But whenever I try to take a picture it looks kinda lame compared to just seeing it in person.

So very true. I took a video of the nice lightning storm with the red sky. I'm going to upload it and see how it turned out. I'll give you a link to either pictures or the video. smile

Very pretty sky. Thunderstorms are my element and I find it soothing to watch them.

And here is a rainbow pic I took in our backyard earlier this month.

Yeah, and the "moron" reference was for someone speeding down the street when children were outside near the street.

Waking up with your lungs feeling like bricks are on top of them is so not fun. Thankfully I inhalers helped a bit but still hurts. Asthma is most annoying.

Tornadoes... I remember some of those. They were only F1's, but they made quite a mess.
And, no. Winds like that are not good for asthma. Ow.

Very nice sunset and great video of the storm. I wish that I could get some video uploaded that I took of a storm out over the Atlantic. The lightning just danced across the water when it hit it. It was really cool to see. It's not like the way lightning hits land. The water was a conductor and it was hard to tell at times if the lightning was coming down or being bounced right back up and skipping across the ocean. I guess the best way to describe it would be to picture a pond of water and a rain drop hitting the top of the pond, and as soon as it hits it bounces upward and blossoms outward from there like a huge firework explosion. It is a wonder to see, almost as great as the Northern lights.

I remember back when I lived in Southern California, we'd sometimes get evening storms inflamed by the brush fires. The smoke would gradually tint the air brown and then the sun would begin to set. There would be a sudden flash point and everything was bathed in rich, red light. Then the temperature difference would build up and the storms would gain energy. Deep red everywhere you looked with bright lightning of differing shades based on distance through the smoke-stained sky; the farthest being almost a red-brown-gold to to reddish-gold to grapefruit to orange to yellow to white at the closest.

The storm video was great. Didn't see the rainbow one, though. Bummer.
I saw an island tropical storm once. Awesome. And One time there was a fire ball that hit right outside my window. Got to watch it bounce off the trees and the garage first. ...And then got to go out and fix the paint job on the garage later from the burn. Yeah.
I like lightning and rain storms, though.

Thanks for saying so. I have always enjoyed watching something that some people refer to as St. Elmo's fire. Which are electrical storms over the sea, that sometimes has heat lightning and lightning balls/ball lightning(as some people call them) that just make a heck of a light show over the open water. You have your normal white/silver lightning, but in the dark or right about the end of sunset when it happens you get tons of different colors bouncing off the water and the horizen. There are suble shades of hues and pinks like cotton candy, as well as green tints, and blues of many colors as the sunset turns to nightfall. Right at that instant there is a slight rainbow effect as a symphony of colors burst onto the skies canvas, and the storm rages on with more flashes of different colors as the lightning hits the ocean, and you see the curtains of rain move one after the other almost chasing whats left of the light from the sun. It is a grand specticle. The only thing that I have seen in life that would come close to all of the colors and actions of it would be from the movie Fantasia 2(circa 1999-2001) from Disney as Mickey is conducting all of his apprentice magic. Sorry to sound so mushy/romantic. But it is a great symphony from God, that if I can ever figure out how to get this old home movie video's I had taken of these events uploaded on here I would show the film so that you could be in awe as well.
