The Dark Tournament was silly...
Mainly because one of the winners never actually won a fight, nor fought more than once.
Cameron fought once, in the first round, to team that DQed themselves, and won.
Basically, me and Alan won the 4-man tournament by ourselves.
And the runner up team?
Roen never won a fight, but got second place.

All three free-ticket fighters may have complained, but did they actively pursue this getting resolved? Hell no. They're as much to fault as the judges this year for this wonky s**t going down.. again. When I had a fighter not show up last year, I didn't go to the OOC and go "whine b***h whine" and smile, I went after the mother ******** and ended up dragging him into the fight by his proverbial ears. And won.
The first round is as important as the second round and the final round. You'd likely not say that if you were involved in a problem match, but it's easy to be apathetic when it doesn't immediately affect you.
The simplest solution is to recruit three fighters, none of which were already participants obviously, and have them fight their opponents in a post limit oriented fight as planned. Judging for those fights will then commence. If they cannot be assed, it will be a combination judging of whoever gets closest to 10 posts and does the best that moves on. Simple as that.
It won't significantly hold anything up, it resolves the bye issue, and I am positive we can wrangle up 3 asshats to fight these people in half an hour's time if we tried. Anyone who disagrees is not only wrong (tips hat at Crossed Fox 'cos I am always correct), but likely doesn't even understand there's a high chance this won't affect their own fight's commencement, and they simply don't give a s**t about tournament fairness.

As fir' "huhr 2 weeks 2 days 10 posts-" idiotic rhetoric. Human beings by nature thrive under pressure. Pressure gets more results 9x/10. If you have more time to accomplish the same results, rarely will they utilize that time to do more, but instead do the same work spread out so it's easier on them. Giving them a 2 day deadline with their advancement on the line however, is more of a stress they need to sort through, heightening the chance they'll post damned frequently in those two days lest they lose their slot.
Summary:
1. Release results for all fights excluding the three today.
2. Find three assholes, from here's plausible but I'd prefer from Barton somewhere so there's no possible "bias" calls or bow-outs from people the three competitors know.
3. Hyper mode the s**t out of their profiles, I want judges other than the ones who graded Sin and Hokuto Shinken Master to do it so we don't get stupid s**t filtered through.
4. Set up the threads, immediately, and get them fighting. Contact all 6 individuals involved every way available.
5. Begin. At the end of 2 days, and I mean adhere to an exact time, no "I forgot so let's give them 6 more-" no, ******** that, on the dot time limit.
6. Grade, sort through who won, and get this moving on. Watch for it more carefully in the future.
Seriously, this s**t's not difficult, I expect it to be sorted out by the time I make dinner. Anyone who disagrees with the above because they mistakenly think it'll speed the tournament's progression up are not only naive, but faggots and not worth being listened to.

No one likes heel lickers, Krausse. If people ran deals like this perfectly, trust me when I say complaints would never arise. To ignore the community is a full-blown retarded thing to do, and should never even jokingly be implied as a wise decision.
I'll b***h until the end of time if I want to. I do it every year since this shindig began. Half the time for retarded reasons, but the other half for valid ones and it's obvious when the latter is so.

Since everyone wants to make a big deal out of what is essentially a non-issue, why not collect something for it.
On one hand, winning by forfeit is fine when legitimate, on the other hand, if the people who didn't get to fight want to fight and it can be arranged smoothly, then let them fight. Both ways are fair, it's simply a matter of procedure. Calm down people, take a deep breath, vote, and let it go.

I find this funny, because I haven't even been talking about the whole bye-scenario.
