Nanu leaned back thinking to herself. Seto was much more quiet and obedient without his memories...but was it right to keep him without them?

Seto had gone outside, quickly locating the pharaoh near the stables. It was getting easier for him to move around the palace. The priest was surprised to see Atem on a horse, preparing to ride. "You're going out to find him? That's not a good idea. You could get hurt." Seto said, frowning. "It's a minor enough matter; you don't need to put yourself in danger." "It's good for me to go out. Besides, I'm taking a personal matter in this affair. Plus, I'll stop by Bakura's oasis and warn them, in case they don't know yet." Atem said, looking down at his priest. Poor little Seto. "You stay here, though. Watch over Ayira, in case she wakes up again. You need to support her."

Nanu smiled as a servernt brought her daughter in. She held mie close rocking her gently.

Seto nodded, and turned to return to the palace. The pharaoh and his little troop set out, and the priest went back to the room where Ayira was.

Ayira had woken but was a bit drowzy just staring up at theceling.

Seto had been a little sidetracked in the palace, and didn't actually reach Ayira's room until an hour or so later. He went next to the bed, sitting down on the floor without noticing that Ayira was actually awake. He felt worn out. It took perhaps an hour or two for the pharaoh to reach the oasis. He had split the men up, telling them to spread out and locate Mariku no matter what. Bakura had been outside, deep in thought, when he saw three figures on horseback riding closer. "Rei!" He called, looking around for his wife. "We're having company."

Rei sighed who was inside cooking "lovely. Will they be staying for lunch?" she asked hating the fact she was going to need to cook more food.

Bakura squinted, trying to make out who it was, and then swore. "It's the pharaoh, and some men. No need to feed any of them." He snorted, getting up to his feet. "Why the hell is he coming by here?" He swore again.

"Ah" she scooped both the children up who whined but she told them to shush.

Bakura had strode out when the pharaoh and his men stopped their horses a little ways away from the house. Bakura was hostile, as he always was when around the pharaoh, but listened what the pharoah had to say. "Yes, we knew he was back. He came by here; didn't think it was worth going by the palace to tell you. In case you haven't noticed, I sort of hate you." Atem frowned, but dismounted. The two men with him looked hesitant, but stayed perched on their horses, supposedly safe. "If you do see him in the future, though, get in touch with me somehow. Haven't you ever heard that my enemy's enemy is my friend? I'm sure that you want to protect yourself and your family as much as I want to protect everybody at my palace from him. We should get along for this." The pharaoh explained, but Bakura's eyes just narrowed. Atem sighed. "It would be best for you and your family to come stay in the palace. I know you don't like the idea, and I wouldn't even be suggesting it if Mariku hadn't killed you once before. Just until Mariku is taken care of for good." Bakura shook his head, taking a few steps away from Atem, backwards. He wasn't about to turn his back to the fiend. "The years must have done something to your memory, pharaoh. Even if what you're suggesting is logical, I wouldn't accept such an offer. I haven't forgotten what you people have done to me in the past." "Wait. Let me talk to Rei first; I want her to know of this." Atem insisted, frowning. Nanu and Rei had become friends of sorts over the years. Rei might be more open to the idea; and Atem knew that Nanu would be saddened if anything happened to Rei or the children. Atem knew he wouldn't be able to convince Bakura, so maybe the best way would be to go to his wife.

Rei was inside trying to calm her whining children. Tearing a hunk of bread off she divided it between the two children. "there now be quiet ok?" rei said watching over her children.

In a few moments, Bakura had gone inside the house, with Atem following him. The pharaoh offered Rei a weak smile; he was rather worn out from all the recent excitement. "Hello, Rei. I don't suppose you've heard the recent news." He said, as Bakura crossed his arms over his chest and looked annoyed. "We had a... visit... from Mariku just this morning. Ayira was attacked and raped; I came by here to warn you, but Bakura tells me you already knew he was back."

"Oh...Im sorry to hear that.." Rei gave the children another hunk of bread and told them to go off too there rooms. they whined but headed to there rooms. She them looked up to atem "Yes mariku was here. He knocked out bakura then stole one of our horses and left."

"It could have been worse for you guys. Which is what I wanted to talk to you about. I don't think it's a good idea for you and Bakura to be out here all alone like you are." Atem said, keeping his eyes focused on Rei. "I don't want anything bad to happen to any of you, and you're so far away from others. If he comes back and hurts someone severely, it might be a while before you can get help. I was proposing to Bakura that you all come to the palace for a while, until we can capture and finish Mariku off for good. You'll be better protected there."

"Not really. If you havent noticed just as much bad things to us happen in your palace than here." "maaaaaaaaaaa!" both children yelled running out and clinging to there mothers legs. "there a snake in da room!" kek said. Rei quickly turned her attation to her children "Are you both alright? You dident get bit did you?" femi shook her head "No we run away!" rei patted her head "you stayhere." she looked to atem "exsuse me for a moment." she said heading into the childrens room. Femi hurried to her fathers side not really liking atem. Kek on the other hand was always curious of other people. Rei came out a moment later with the snake. She had stabed it threw the head with her dagger so the snake was dead. "can we play with it?" kek ask. "no kek" rei replyed.
