The house elf named: Ianto (pronounced Yanto)
Ianto nodded to the other elf, a little startled at the direct look she sent him before she scurried off to her own tasks. Perhaps things would not be too bad after all?
Following her advice, Ianto wandered over to several elves who seemed to be making deserts. He watched for a minute as they effortlessly moved around each other, each of them absorbed in their own tasks. No, things would not be so bad but it would certainly take some getting used to.
Not wanting to interrupt the others, Ianto decided to make one of his late Masters favorite desserts; Empire Biscuits. For the first time since entering the kitchens, Ianto took a moment to glance around the actual room itself. He blinked in awe as he took in the high ceilings, the rows upon rows of hooks lining the walls that held everything from pots and pans to the many utensils one might need.
Feeling a little overwhelmed once more, he decided the best way to start would be to gather the equipment he would need. Grabbing a large bowl and spoon, he found an empty area on the long table the other elves were working on and set the two items down before turning to find the other items he would need. He grabbed several cooking sheets, knowing there were many students above them and he would need to make several batches of the sweet treat.
Ianto continued collecting items, balancing them seemingly precariously upon the tray which was now settled on his head, allowing his hands free reign. His earlier unease had all but left him as he was left in his zone. Cooking had always been one of his favorite tasks and he found himself forgetting where he was, completely absorbed in the project before him.
He hummed softly to himself as he prepared the ingredients, mixing everything in the large bowl before folding the dough out onto the table surface. He smiled slightly as he began rolling and cutting each cookie, setting them one by one on the trays he'd laid out. Once all the dough had been used, he set both trays in the oven to cook and turned to repeat the process, starting on the second batch. It wasn't long before he found himself completely absorbed in the task before him, suddenly appearing to blend in and fit just as the other elves around him. Ianto didn't even notice.
...is being at your service.
((OOC: Empire Biscuits are a real scottish treat and if anyone's curious I'd love to share the recipe. They're very tasty!))
