I'm really, really ******** sick of uppermiddleclass white people being offended on my behalf. No, I don't give a s**t that they whitewashed Last Airbender. It was a terrible movie and would have been terrible no matter how many Asians you threw into it. Nor do I care that they want to move Akira to New York and fill it with honkies.
I could care less about representation. I don't need a character to look like me to be able to relate to or admire them. I never gave a damn as a kid that everybody on tv was white. Indiana Jones and Batman are my biggest heroes and their lack of tan means ******** to me. So please, quit all this POC representation bullshit.

I haven't either, but apparently social activism is the new hip thing and I'm being bombarded by it all over the interwebz. It just really gets on my nerves when white people get their panties in a bunch over representation on my behalf when I really don't care that much about it. I grew up being almost literally the only non-white person in town and it never bothered me. I also never really cared that people in the media didn't look like me. I just think it's ridiculous that some people think I need a direct correspondence to be able to relate to or look up to a character. My absolute favorite so far though is the people who have been ranting about the casting of the main character for Hunger Games because they picked a white actress and the books describe her as "olive-skinned." Apparently the argument is the books take place in the future, so she must be multi-racial. Seriously.

You know, at least in the terms of Akira and Last Airbender the whitewashing serves a purpose. It says, "Hey, we're trying to make a quick buck. Don't see this movie."
And yeah, if the dudes are good actors I could give less of a ******** what the color of their skin is.
Liking the cat faces pasted onto all the devs though.

So my dad came up today because my birthday is next week. We ate out, and just as we got inside, there was this crazy flash rainstorm. We were seated by a big window, and looking out, I saw a complete double rainbow. Of course, I had to spend the next five minutes yelling "It's so beautiful! What does it meeeeeaaaaan?" Sadly, it disappeared all too soon. sad
We saw a groundhog when we drove by the baseball diamonds, too. It was so strange. When I lived next to the woods, I only ever saw a groundhog once - they avoid people like the plague. What was one doing just chilling in the middle of town? It was kinda funny, though, because the birthday card my dad gave me had the Caddyshack groundhog on it. It plays "I'm Alright," too. xd

And man, thanks Pokemon White for making certain good items hard as hell to find. Make me work my a** off for hours just to find some damned leftovers because I happen to want more than one.
And I would like the musical more if I could, y'know, do anything with it.

I thought that was the whole point of Pokemon? To be an OCD gamer's wet dream and worst nightmare all rolled into one. xd Finally hooked up the Wii. I waited until my dad could come back up, since it makes him feel useful to do the tech stuff. I think he cried when I did the PS2 myself. (Okay, not really, but I don't know why he was so damned surprised I didn't need his help - my family must think I'm really stupid.) And... I seriously sucked a** at Mario for, like, the first hour. I died many many times on the first stage. It was then that I realized I haven't played a Mario game since the original NES. It's so weird to think that, since so many of my gaming memories are tied to that franchise, but I really haven't. Never owned an SNES. Didn't like the 3D ones for N64 and only played the store demos. Didn't own a Game Cube and never got around to buying the ones for DS. So... yeah. Although, once I relearned the controls, boss battles are waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than I remember.

To be an OCD gamer's wet dream and worst nightmare all rolled into one. xd Maybe it is for some, but it's also a came where you can make dinosaurs eat dogs and have whales ******** kittens and make abominations against god and nature. Plus my friends actually like to battle. And anything that puts a barrier between me and being able to throw down, especially at the end game, kinda sucks. I know they kinda do it for balance issues, but it really just makes most people buy an Action Replay. And yeah, I think the last Mario game I actually owned was 64 or the one for the DS.

I am in the awkward position of having to ask someone for a ride to something I essentially asked them if they wanted to go to. And I also need to get at least one more person to come so that if my pal's friend is more of a date, I won't be a fifth wheel. Oh derby! I hate how awkward you can be when I love you so.

I wish more people I knew had a 3DS. Queue times on versus battles in Street Fighter are suck. Not that I'm complaining about the game, of course. Hell, it's the first SF game I've enjoyed in years. And the other features of the system? ******** yeah.
I keep hearing mixed reviews on Sucker Punch... many negative views from 'critics'. Most of the people that I know who've seen it, however, loved it. So I think that's on the agenda for this weekend. I already dig the soundtrack.
The delay on the last two episodes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica is driving me nuts. Yes, there are other things to be concerned over regarding the circumstances, but damn that earthquake done postponed my entertainments!
The Evangelion rebuild movies are FAR better than I'd thought they would be. It's almost to where I'd rather wash my mind of the existence of the originals if not for the relevant contrast between the two interpretations.
Other recent movie loves: Black Swan, Tangled, and Summer Wars. Also, I was shocked and amazed that we had ANIME come in at work. Despite the fact that it was just volumes one and two of Blood+ and nothing more, I'm still glad there's something available.
