"Ehhh, you're probably right...God knows, I'd go in there normal and come out with like...Antlers or some thing." Marshall said, slightly amused with the idea of antlers. It might actually be helpful, since he was short and obviously not turning into any thing too vicious.

"Heh heh...Well, I'll definatly show up to your party. Besides, two parties means twice as many people to meet and gawk at, eh?"

"Or tentacles, if yer really unlucky," Anatoli wagged his spoon at Marshall. Heaven forbid he meets Billy, that'll surely put the fear of Moreau into him.

"Like goin' ta one a' those old carnival freakshows, I bet -- or livin' one, in any case." He'd probably meet a literal chicken woman or lobster man now. How lovely!

"Huh...Thats not a bad comparison. Though, then again, watching the 'freaks' like us do any thing normal would be entertaining...Come one, come all! Watch the amazing super Giraffe Man read the morning paper! The magical Chicken Woman do her laundry! The possibilities are endless!" Marshall said, laughing some what. He couldn't help but think of that line from that old Jimmy Buffet song:

If we didn't laugh, we'd all go insane!

"I'm surprised I'm not considad one a' tha freaks. Or maybe a normie," he remarked. Just how many people were there here on this island? "Save tha freak jokes, I'm sure I'll be joinin' ya soon enough."

It's probably the attitude of living a freakshow that'll make him fast friends on the island, right? No, really! He'd be one of the exhibits soon enough, if he wasn't from the start -- look at that guy, he still has skin! Eww!

"Heh, normalacy is Over Rated any way!" Marshall said, finishing off his pan-cakes. What he said was a bull-faced lie, however. Deep down, he wanted nothing more than what Anatoli had: Those precious moments when you're not a freak. Where you can wear shoes, and holding a pencil didn't hurt. Where you didn't have a large, black...THING in your face all of the time where your nose once was. Where you're human.

"Still...Even if you're on the Freak Stage...Its not too bad, y'know? I mean...You're a freak, but you're not the only freak." Marshall said with a some-what somber tone of voice and a shrug.

"Meh. I guess that's true. Maybe I'll get lucky and turn inta somethin' everyone won't try ta eat," he speculated. Preferably, something with lots of spines or big teeth or something. If he was going to be an animal, it better be a cool one.

Or he'll be a slug.

But who'd want to eat one of those anyway?

"Yep. That's always a good thing to aim for." Marshall smirked as he got up, throwing the cheap plastic plate into the trash-can. He couldn't help but wonder what they did with the trash here...Then he realised he just didn't care that much.

"Well, I think I'm gonna head to the arcade or some thing. But I'll be at your Halloween Party, alright? And don't worry, I won't tell any one your costume idea." Marshall said to his new freind as he picked up his book. "Oh, yeah, I'm a Duplex 59 if you ever want to drop by or some thin'. Later!" Marshall said, waving to Anatoli as he left with his book under his arm again.

I think I'll take a nap instead...

Anatoli tipped his hat and got up to push in his chair. "Nice meetin' ya, and thanks fa not eatin' me," he said, waving his hand as he went to dispose of his own dirty dishes. As Marshall left, the man stayed behind to pick out a few snack bars, tucked away in his pocket for later nibbling on.

A few more things were grabbed to take back to his duplex, and Anatoli left and headed for home.

Aislinn settled into a chair, her plate full of something greasy despite her hatred for those things in general. She was going to have to exercise like -mad- after this to get rid of the excess fat from the grease...but her stomach needed it to sette. She'd also brought out an herbal tea she'd been meaning to try and had brought along with her on the trip. Tea was definitely good, and so was the warmth it was now spreading in her abused stomach.

The Cafeteria seemed empty at first glance; row after row of cleaned to a shine tables flanked on both sides by plastic and metal chairs. Her geta tapped on the floor as she moved along the self-serve area, picking up a bowl of rice, a plate of sliced and cold fruit, a juice drink and finally a sugary treat that Sayuri had come to like very much; an iced and sprinkled doughnut. She'd not had them before coming to the Island, they were a small slice of food heaven for someone raised on a diet of pickled vegetables, rice and fish.
Moving away with her tray to find a seat she saw that she wasnt the only one come to eat at this time. A woman was seated across from her, one that Sayuri had not met. As she walked over to the table, she curled her tail tightly under her kimono so that the bump in the line of the cloth wouldnt be noticeable without close scrutiny.
'Hello,' she spoke as she moved around into the womans eyeline. Her head dipped forward in a bow.

Aislinn smiled. Well, this new person seemed pretty nice too. And normal. Really, if it weren't for the fact that Tristan and Liamh both had mentioned meeting others that weren't quite human anymore, she'd have disbelieved the whole thing by now.

"Hello," she said. The girl struck her as Japanese both because she was wearing a Kimono and because of her behaviour. Fascinating.

"I'm Aislinn." She grimaced down at the nasty looking food before her and sighed,
"It always surprises me that this stuff actually does serve a purpose sometimes."

Sayuri pulled a chair out opposite Aislinn after placing her chair down and sat. Then stood again, a faint frown on her face as she squashed her tail painfully. She sat carefully this time, crossing her legs at her ankles under the table.
'It is nice to meet Aislinn,' she said, sliding a silver pair of chopsticks from her obi. She picked up her fruit bowl and held it against her front as she transferred a fruit slice into her mouth. She looked at the glistening food on the woman's plate and nodded.
'Why do you eat if it bad?' she asked.

Aislinn sighed,
"Had too much to drink last night, and the grease helps my stomach. Sort of like medicine. It tastes bad going down, but once its in there, it makes you feel better."

She noticed the other's discomfort, and wondered at it, but decided not to ask. The girl was obviously having enough trouble, what with her dotty grasp on the English language. Probably a native of Japan, by her guess.
"Would Japanese be easier for you?" she asked in the girl's native tongue. Aislinn was suddenly very glad she'd picked up the language easily enough in college.

'Oh,' Sayuri didnt know what to say to that. She often got..not very drunk but merry during teahouse parties and worked hard to consume as little alcohol as possible without seeming like she wasnt part of the revelry.
'I try not drink alot. It makes me sick,' and she pulled a face. Then another, a look of surprise as Aislinn addressed her in her native tongue.
'Easier yes,' she said with feeling.
'But I do not improve my english without speaking it, although it is hard not to miss the sound of my language.'
She eyed the woman.
'You are not Japanese though.'
Her eyes, and face had certain similarities that most people would take to mean they were born in the same place but Sayuri could easily see that she hadnt.
