[Kyla: Shipwreck Cove > Atlantica: Docks > Outskirts]

It seemed their little journey was going to go unhampered. Though Kyle bumped into a school of fish which scattered like frightened birds all around him. She watched them leave, their tiny bodies swimming away and the light glinting off their scales.

As they continued on Kyla saw something out of the corner of her eye- since she was already staring intently around and sketching the underwater world as they went- She nearly doodled it's likeness automatically without thinking about when Sora's outburst made her take another look at it.

"It must be the City-" she mused, adding a name tag to the glint on her page. When her eyes caught something else swim- no- flying! Flying away from the city?!
"-..it looks like a large purple bird...least form here. That or it's a glowing purple manta ray."

The mermaid swam up beside him, her eyes narrowing finishign up the last of the details thats her eyes could gleen and re-checked the image, she kept the book open in case someone wanted to see over her shoulder at it. She dubbed the unuusal figment ' Unknown' for now and the etched label imprinted on the page surface.

"- since when has anything been NOT been out of the ordinary?" she muttered and began to sketch a few- preparations onto the enxt page. Anyone who's seen her in battle would recognize some of the imagry, birn strikes, flight of blades, luminou lotus, and of course- their escape plan- the door symbol, unfinished, but ready to be summoned if they had no other choice.
However... she hadn't rested in all this time, Kyla seriously wondered fi it would even work if she tried..

At Joe's suggestion Kyla kicked her fin and sped forward. " Lets make bubbles then!"
Bad pun- but apprently thats how it looked, speding forward with her own tail created a few trailing bubbles in her wake.
"...that darkness.. it's like a fog. A cloud of ink. It's not responding to regular light either from what I can tell."
She turned around, this time it was her turn to swim backwards, for the sake that she wanted to face them.

" Would it be paranoid of me to suggest we try to not look intimidating...or as suspicious as that thing was? We have no clue as to what the conditions are that- that thing- is leaving Atlantica, but Triton has a reputation to be wary of strangers in his kingdom."

But what exactly could they do? Smile? Look friendly?

"...ugh, nevermind... I guess.. just be careful? no- I mean yes- of course you will, ugh what am I saying?!"

Turning back around, Kyla rubbed her head like she had a headache.
What had gotten into her lately. Kyla was acting like there were ghosts around every corner, ready to snatch them into the dark.

...the problem was..

...she was right.

[ Kyle ; Sora : Under the Sea : Heading Toward Atlantica ]

"Hmm, scouts..." Kyle mused, slowly swimming along with the others (and being left behind as a result of his speed) as he watched the strange purple flickers of energy. He couldn't help but feel something familiar. If they were, in fact, connected to Ajora, then the familiarity would make sense... but if he couldn't place it soon, it might prove a fatal flaw.

Kyla began to say what the others (himself, at the very least) were thinking along the lines of the strange black cloud. However, when she mentioned her paranoia about entering the city, Kyle's attention was brought back to the subject at hand; he turned to face the others and sped forward, catching up with relative ease.

"Already ahead of you, Kyla," the Dragoon responded with a grin, nodding his head toward Sora, who looked at her with a grin of his own. "You're forgetting our not-so-secret weapon."

"That's why I'm coming along. Triton and I go way back, and I've worked to earn his trust, so you guys should probably leave the talking to me at first," the Keyblader explained, his tone confident but not arrogant; he'd been through it all before, so it was nothing new. "Once we tell him what we know, it'll just be a wave of the Trident and - poof! - the underwater problem's solved."

[[Louis : Shipwreck Cove : Secluded Balcony]]

[[Cue: Dispossession]]

Louis sat on the edge of his private balcony, staring off into the distance. The sea was enchanting, the moon's soft light glistening off the surface of countless breaking waves from one horizon to the next. The sight was always strange at night, after seeing the ocean all day in its varying shades of blues or greens only for it to drain itself of all color till it became a near black and white under the night sky. It was peaceful, even the breeze was unnervingly still due to the cove's cupped location; however, Louis was all but at ease, his soul stirred within and wrenched his gut. In his hand, the glass rose entertained his fingers as he ran their tips over its perfect, smooth surface.

Run yourself dry and drop dead.
What good are you?

You're just going in circles.
Is it really worth all the trouble?

Something felt wrong, it felt off, but no matter how hard he tried to search his mind for the answer, the solution would simply dance out of his reach like a carrot held just beyond the mule's nose. Not a hint of his strife showed on his face, only the blank, empty stare of his eyes could reveal his thoughts. He'd heard from someone, what felt like ages ago, that he had honest eyes. Louis couldn't even remember their name or face, but the words were clear as though they'd been spoken yesterday, "You have honest eyes... sad eyes..."
"...I do?"
"I can't put my finger on it. There's an emptiness to them, even when you're smiling. They're the eyes of someone who's shed allot of tears in their lifetime."
"I don't cry... not anymore..."

"I've made my decision," the voice accompanied by footsteps said from behind him, "I want to learn."

Louis shook his head for a moment and let out a single relieved breath. So, he's decided to seek out this power after all. Innocence is spared only for the weak I guess. With some joy in his voice he patted the spot on the edge next to him and looked back at Anthony, "Take a seat... the structure's safe here."

[Kyla: Under The Sea: Heading to Atlantica]

She’d like to take faith in that point alone, however…
“I’ve not forgotten.” She replied, and turned her gaze slowly to the beta finned Kyle at her side, before glancing back towards Sora a moment. “I guess I’ve learned the hard way to not be so confident about who your friends are.”
Returning her gaze to the horizon beyond, she could see where the city of the mer-people eventually came into focus, if not still a distant focus. Kyla continued to muse out loud.

“Life just has a funny way of turning any allotment of invested years of friendship- and make them void in a blink of an eye-“
‘Friendship is always a gamble, but it’s worth it aibou.’

Her eyes just narrowed. Bitterness and perhaps a thread of hurt seemed to appear like a faint reflection.
“- Especially when there is something great to gain, or loose.”
When she seemed to realize she was getting a bit too personal, she shook her head, banishing the thoughts with a smile.

“I guess, Triton has his people and his daughter to protect. If he had to choose between them and us- er-Sora, be prepared to find yourself low on the priority list. I suppose you can’t really hold that against him either. He loves them very much, as a King and Father. Some of our replicas are quite the schemers, I have no doubt they realize that too.”

Ok now she was just being too pessimistic!

"I- I'm not saying Sora can't smooth things over, or that Triton won't welcome us as Sora's posse- I guess I'm just paranoid our enemies haven't utilized this weakness in his character... pffff- never-mind." She shook her head again.

She wanted to change the subject, anything would do. For a while now the girl couldn't help but noticed something.
" Hit me if you like- if this is a sore subject but; I couldn't help but notice that you-Kyle, and Joe seem to have quite the symmetry going on with your battle wounds.Quite fetching, but wouldn't tattoos be a better option? Who was the artist?"

[Joe: Under the Sea: Way to Atlantica]

Joe floated in place, arms crossed as he watched the darkness. Kyla was going on about paranoia, Sora there, people...something. He had gotten lost in his own head again, and ended up missing most of what she said till she mentioned something about his and Kyle's matching scars.

"Mm? Oh, we got stabbed by some darkness creature humanish thing. I just managed to get stabbed twice...." He trailed off, but he was busy looking at the city and around it. "Well, we should probably keep moving. Sora should take point, considering he's been here before."

[John.:Under da Sea:.En Route to an Engineering Feat]

At the mention of Sora having a history with King Triton, John couldn't help, but relive the torture Kingdom Hearts II had been at Atlantica. Matching up buttons DDR style to song and dance was about enough to make him puke... but he had to get 100% on that game whether he liked it or not so he would sit there for hours upon hours listening to those damned compositions in order to unlock the trailer for Birth Before Sleep only to realize that he didn't even own a PSP...

It's not fair Ixi!!!

...what's not.

The f***ing Atlantica level with the songs and the dance and the stupid button smashing. Gaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!

The city was, yet again nothing like he could ever imagine. The sheer detail and vastness of the city made him sigh in awe. The entire idea of a fully functioning city existing underwater dumbfounded him. Did they have a market? How about universities? Parks? Wall Streets?

"Ya, Sora lead then. We all have seen what that trident can do..."
he chuckled as he remembered the transformation of small miniscule Ursula to big-f***ing-I-am-going-to-make-you-dead Ursula.

[Saint.:Flying Dutchman:.Isolation]

Saint popped one eye open to see a single figure standing over him. One of his comrades in creation. He laughed to himself slightly in fortune.

"I see you've come to bring me company then? It's appreciated ya know... gets real lonely by yourself..."

[Elleon ~ Paris ~ Beauvais Manor Ballroom]

Elleon picked at the food before them as she listened to Ajora, pulling some grapes and chocolate covered strawberries from a dessert plate near by. She was trying to cool it on the french desserts and stick to small sweets--her figure would be gone if she indulged too much. Pastries and confections were her weakness. From what Ajora was asking it seemed that he hadn’t completely given in to relaxing, making her sigh a little.

”Oh come on, what does it matter. Could you not think about these things for one little night?” The Replica raised her teacup to touch his as if she’d just given a toast. It was an ironic act if one considered the origins of the age-old gesture. “Just relax.”

[Noelle ~ Shipwreck Cove ~ Training Room → Sleeping Quarters]

Noelle groaned at the thought of tomorrow. No doubt they would be waking up at the buttcrack of dawn to be on their way, leaving her exhausted and undoubtedly hungry. Lord knew there wouln’t be hardly anything wholesome in the cove. She had a knot in her stomach in regards to the next day. The one thing she still couldn’t stand was the uncertainty of what the future would bring. But Riku didn’t appear to be very worried, so she figured she’d put her worries on the back burner and actually get some sleep.

“Yeah, for serious,” the agromancer sighed, shuffling past her taller comrade tiredly. “Double shift, no breaks, right? I just wish things would calm the hell down. My poor nerves can’t take too much more of this.”

Noelle continued down the hallway and back up onto the ship’s dock, the chill of the sea meeting her bare skin as soon as she stepped from the shelter of the ship. With a shiver and a stuttering inhale, she pulled her arms around herself and looked over the ship railing. She wasn’t sure if anyone had decided to go to sleep yet, or where the sleeping quarters were on the ship. The only places she had been were the training room, bathroom, and kitchen. There was one more floor that she hadn’t ventured to, so she turned back and looked for it. As she expected she had found where the sleeping was supposed to happen. It didn’t take her very long to stake her claim, flop on a bed, and snuggle into the covers. Her dressphere adapted to a rather comfortable and warm pair of pajamas for her as she rolled around, reveling in the fact that she was bathed and in a nice, soft, fluffy, clean bed. As soon as she was comfortable she laid still. It was only a matter of a short moment before she was sleeping like a log.

[Nick :: Narnia :: Jadis' Castle]

"Well, besides what I've told you, not too much. Ajora's little freak out at the Sun-Cryst was a bit surprising, but I realize I should have seen it in hindsight. I mean, he's 'toying with powers beyond his comprehension', that old song and dance." Nick said between bites of food, his smirk growing wider at the thought of what would be in store for him next. The idea of fighting used to bore him, finding it dreary and generally useless, but since his ascension with the Dark Ones, the only thing that had been on his mind was when he could bathe in the blood of his enemies. A disgusting mental image, but one Nick couldn't stop thinking about.

"And I understand why Tromell would avoid this blade, even I could feel the chaotic energies before grabbing the blade. But I don't want to drag this around everywhere. I want some sort of harness or sling or even a backpack to carry the blade around. It would make my life significantly easier." Taking his napkin from his lap and placing it on the table, the Dark Knight rose from his seat and gave the woman across from him a smile. "I suppose it's that time. Since I lost my shortsword after my 'abduction', I would like to replace it with a new one. Then, I need to speak to Ajora face to face about a few things, then finally, I should probably rest. Is there a room for me here, Teacher?"

After speaking his 'to-do' list out loud, Nick sent another message along the charms to Ajora with a rare tone of straightforwardness.

Ajora, if you're not too busy crushing the world in the palm of your hand, can you spare a few minutes? I want to show you my new toy and also discuss what I'm needed for next. Respond back at your leisure.

[Dusk : Flying Dutchman : Crewman's quarters]

"Nah, not really," Dusk said as she leaned against Yoko who remained cloaked, with an expression of indifference on her face, "I was just bored to be honest. Not much to do in this nasty place. I can't say I can blame you for being lonely, with the company you do keep. Though you choose a poor place to sleep, I must say. The company is good. Location... not so much."

With that Dusk faked a yawn as she leaned against Yoko as she looked around tapping her foot, before she looked at Saint again.

"Sooo? Do you do anything? Or do you, just like the rest of these lots only rollover when big boss tells you to?

[ Ajora : Paris : Beauvais Manor Ballroom ]

Ajora seemingly went unfazed by his peer's complaint, though a slight tension might have been noticed. On the contrary, his mind revolted, once more erupting in contradictory arguments and condescension. This was, of course, compounded by the message sent by Nicholas.

Tell me where, and I'll be there shortly.

With a small smile, he lifted his glass to hers and lightly tapped the two together.

"Désolé, mon bell'amie," he responded, nodding sheepishly. "I'm afraid my mind is ever-active. But yes, one night of relaxation-- and celebration. A toast: to a life worth living."

[ ??? : Narnia : Jadis' Castle ]

"I don't think a sling would be too much to manage," the Teacher responded, nodding solemnly. "I'll have Trommel bring an appropriate sling by your bedchamber later. And yes, we have one set up in the Eastern Wing for you. Though I would recommend not leaving anything of importance behind."

The cloaked woman also stood, and as she did, the table, chairs, and food all seemed to revolt against their natural forms, disintegrating into Darkness; even that soon evaporated, leaving the throne room as empty as it had been before.

"Will he be coming here?" she asked, sounding oddly curious. "The Replica, I mean. Are you to see him, or is he to see you?"

[ Kyle ; Sora : Under the Sea : Heading Toward Atlantica --> Atlantica ]

"On it!" Sora replied, grinning as he metaphorically dashed ahead to take point. For all Kyla's worries, Sora didn't seem the least bit worried about Triton's opinion of him. One could easily just amount it to childish confidence, but the Boy Wonder was now seventeen years of age, so it was possible his faith had a bit more stock now than it did in the past.

"It was pitch black, we were back to back, yet hardly prepared for the sneak attack," Kyle mused as he kept up the rear of the group, glancing back every so often. He felt as though they were being watched-- of course, with those possible-spies lurking about, it wasn't impossible. He just wanted to be sure they weren't going to be ambushed from behind. Nothing was there that he could see, though, so he kept swimming forward. "It wasn't a Heartless, but it sure as hell wasn't human, either. Seemed more like Darkness Manifest, the way it writhed when in the Light."

---

Far beneath them, in the shadows of the rocks and coral, something flitted about just out of sight, among other senses; it did not disturb the water that it moved through, causing no ripples or signs of presence. In fact, even if for some reason they were looking directly beneath them instead of at the city, it would have seemed like nothing more than a small fish, no bigger than a baseball.

---

"Alright, if we follow this ravine, it should take us to the main entrance...," Sora muttered; they had gotten close enough to the city to enter it now, but Sora stopped for a moment, noticing something off-- something they all would have noticed.

There was quite a bit of commotion throughout the large city, with armored merpeople (the city guards, of course) checking to see that all was peaceful. The people seemed anxious, and the overall atmosphere was... foreboding.

"What's everyone doing awake at midnight?" Sora asked, presenting the obvious question. After a few seconds, a pair of guards noticed them, swimming over quickly.

"Halt!" they shouted as they rushed over. "State your name and purpose!"

"Uh, Sora! Keyblade Master and companions, seeking the audience of King Triton," he responded; behind him, Kyle raised a brow, impressed by the choice of words. "Is there something-?"

"Ah, Sora! I heard Triton mention him!" one guard whispered to the other; the second guard nodded. "Please, follow us to the castle-- His Majesty will want to speak with you!"

Without another word, the guards turned and rushed toward the castle, swimming over the city entirely to gather as much speed as possible.

"Well, this isn't good," he muttered, motioning for the others to follow as he rushed after the guards.

[Saint.:Flying Dutchman:.Crewman's Quarters]

She's a lovely little wench isn't she...

Saint smiled and softly said"I'm here to watch the world end. I make my own path to let that happen. It seems, though, that we are siblings. We're both rejects from our former selves, and really we don't have a place in this universe. I have no f***ing clue why we exist, but not knowing makes me pissed as all hell. I swear to God if we are just the little toys of some motherf***ing dark lord or something I'm gonna shove my warhammer so far up his a** that
he'll start singing..."

He began to trail off looking to nothing in particular.

"I wanna make him feel the pain that I feel right now. I want to make him suffer and feel everything that he hates. He doesn't f***ing know what we feel! He's just a ignorant p***k that doesn't understand!" Saint shouted angrily, his voice resounding through the quarters. "There's not a goddamn reason in this world that he should be off better than me. I'm more f***ing powerful. I carry all his emotional burdens on my shoulders and all I get is the feelings of anguish and the momentary pleasures of sex and murder. Everything he could not do, I can do, but at the same time everything he can shun aside, I have to bear!"

Toward the end, Saint began to trail off once more. His voice becoming weak. He began to tear a little, and felt nothing but anguish and anger.

"I can't even f***ing control my emotions anymore... not like I was ever good at it... or... if he was ever good at it..."

[Matthew :-: Shipwreck Cove :-: Rose Ramp]

Matt simply stared at Jenny for a second, his tired mind trying to put things together. ''She feels like a bad amushroom? Eh? ...Fudge fizzling flamingoes?' He lightly thumped the palm of his hand against the side of his head, trying to shake his mind into a better state of thinking. "Atlantica, warnings, right. So we've gone from Power Rangers and Lilo & Stich to Little Mermaid and what I assume is Carribean. Not the weirdest scenery change I've seen," he said.

Suddenly realizing that Jenny had gone so quiet after getting frazzled, he felt a little guilty for not noticing right away. "No need to be sorry, I'm sure it's been a trying time for everyone here. So it's okay to want to spout off how you feel," he said, trying to reassure her.

[John .: Under the Sea :. Heading to Atlantica —>Atlantica]
John smiled at Kyle's rhyme. No matter how disturbing it was. The last thing he wanted was for a sneak attack to happen. John simply wanted to visit the underwater city of Atlantica, maybe do some cleaning or something around the castle, and get the heck out so he could use his legs again.

After meeting with the guard, John continued to swim in odd patterns as he was finding the ability to swim in any direction at will far too entertaining for his own good. As he began to attract the attention of city dwellers around with his odd way of moving, he became self conscious and stopped his silly antics, continuing to swim normally.

"So... I'm just gonna take a wild guess here... but do you guys think that this problem has something to do with the dark things that want to murder us?" he questioned to no one in particular. "Though, he might just want to do a musical number. You never know when those might come in handy..."
