The general sighed. "I wonder what they will do when they realize that disconnecting from us makes them no safer than before. A leaf that falls from the tree is at the mercy of the winds. If they do seperate I hope they can survive on their own. There is a reason that they were part of Llyr in the first place." Paradox mused. Flowing rivers would become a haven for bandits and the like if they did declare any kind of independence. There were a lot of people who would do almost anything to get a foothold on this island.

Katherine shook her head slightly. "They can't, we all made oaths to our places. Its aginst Llyr law for good reason. The lords fought for lands for years. The blood shed was awful... The capital now was another families land a family who wanted to put a stop to it. They brought everyone together delcared they would hand over the lands to a netural lower noble's family who was well versed in the laws. That was the Branwen's my family. They were merchants who had claims to the best wines. It had earned them noblity. They also held many goverment offices and held small land holds in almost every part of Llyr.. they were appointed king's of the land." She gave a satisfied smile at that. It soon faded. "You see the problem now."

Paradox let out another sigh. "The problem is that they can't do it, but they are doing it anyway. They aren't pulling away from the other houses, are they? It's just the capital, so that means it's personal. They are keeping their distance from you, aren't they." Paradox said. He continued to walk with Katherine. This was deeply troublesome. It hurt him to see Katherine hurt, even if it was only this much.

"Two things will happen, either one i dread if they pull away from the royal family. The first is that the other lords do nothing, and to prove that my bloodline is still in charge i will have to confiscate there lands and give them over to someone more capable. That means war with them and i have to make a show of winning.. My brother gave those lands over to Aldon. I don't want that." She thought on that more it hurt yes it did very much. "The second is that the other lands take offence to there choice being denied by one house and take action thereselves. Thats more favorable of the two but if that war breaks out i will once again be forced to show the houses involved in such a war that peace can be had together again. I would again have to make a show of it." She looked over to him her steps were slow. "Either way they are bad options."

Paradox looked blandly ahead. "I dislike politics." he said simply. He continued walking for a short while, then looked back at the Queen. "If it comes to war, I can deal with it, but enough people have died already. You went there, with your guards, of course, and explained this to them?" Paradox didn't wait for an answer. "If you couldn't convince them, maybe I can. It would be best if this little problem is avoided, and I might as well give it a try before it is too late." Paradox suggested. He looked around at the people they passed.

Katherine looked to him giveing a grateful smile with a nod. "I couldn't ask you to it is not your place here to do so, but I will not tell you its not nesscary because it is." In that statement she was saying yes without saying so. He would know what she ment.. because this did have to be avoided. A small smile touched her lips then. "Thank you." She touched the side of her pants finding the letter there she read through it quickly.

Paradox smiled. "Of course." he replied simply, letting her know that he would do it as soon as possible. He looked at her again, watching her read through the letter. "You might want to keep an eye on your little lady guest. She has been eavesdropping. She tried to get me to give her a book I didn't have for Craven's location. She didn't know who that was, or course, but it could still cause problems." Paradox told her in a low voice. She had a right to know that he had suspicions about the little girl.

Katherine noded if Zyoher was here that could have quickly been taken care of. "I will keep a eye on her. We have known for sometime something is not so right about her." She spoke with a slight nod that said she was takeing all of this serious. She reached out her hand touching his for a moment. "Truely Paradox i owe you more than you could ever know."

Paradox didn't know that she already knew. He let out a sigh of releif. His hand gloved hand was careful about touching her, as if it was afraid of killing her. "And I am still paying off my debt to you. Some day. . . You will realize that you never had a debt, but until then, you will still pay what you think I deserve." He said cryptically, hinting at the monster that many others saw him as. He had never been the best man in the world.

Paradox chuckled. "The same as always. Training, marching, and drilling. The army is working like a oiled machine, pretty much." Paradox told her with a happy disinterest. It was something he did almost every day. "I started doing some custom orders in the Smithy, too." Paradox added in. Since the nameless swordsman he had added quite a few orders to his list.

Katherine smiled then a idea came to her. "I don't think i have ever seen your forge. Dialh raved about what you made her." She said with a smile. "I wouldn't mind seeing it and maybe when you get back filling a order of my own? If you don't mind of course. The sword i am useing Aiden gave me a very long time ago, i should have had it replaced by now i know i am risking it breaking and i can't it means to much."
