"Really? This has happened before?" Marshall asked, raising an eye brow. The word 'great-great grandad' was what really caught his attention. Had this been going on for centuries? Were there just thousands of people who would show up here and be presumed dead, but in actuality be turned into animals?

Ohhh how he wish he hadn't thought of that. He knew that he'd be freaking out about that later.

"So, Toli," Marshall said, inexplicably shortening his acquaintance's name, "You lookin' foward to Halloween?" Marshall asked, deciding to change it to a...lighter subject.

"As they say, history repeats itself," Anatoli replied vaguely, but doesn't go into any further detail. He drums his fingers on the tabletop as he eats, finishing off the bowl in short time before it went completely soggy.

"Am I," his face brightened up with a slight smile. "Antony and I are planning ta host our own pawty at tha beach. There'll be fun an' games, and costumes, a' course!"

"Not much of a Party with out the costumes, neh?" Marshall chuckled, still just picking at his pancakes. For some reason the pancakes just didn't taste as good as he thought they would. Oh well.

"I'm looking foward to it...I've been here for over a month, but I haven't really met any one. How pathetic is that?" Marshall chuckled, enjoying the fact that Anatoli wasn't nearly as suspicious of him as he use to be.

"Not much of a Halloween party, no," Anatoli gave a grin, "Got my costume figured out, too. Not gonna say what it is right now, though."

Leaning back in his chair, Anatoli rests a hand over the exposed bandages on his chest. "I ain't been much of a socialite myself ovah heeah," he said, looking down at his chest for a few moments. "Let's just say tha locals seem ta think I'm food."

"Eh, I just avoid the jungle...Seems like all of the psychos are out there." Marshall said, remembering his little run-in with the Red Dragon, Zach. Zach didn't really do any thing TO him, but his views on the man were less-than-stellar, mostly because how Gaius viewed him.

"But every one in the vilage is really nice. Well, I mean, Sid's a bit of a required taste but every one else I know is alright." Marshall said, shrugging with a smile. Then again, he wasn't sure if he'd be saying the same thing a couple of months, but why pay attention to logic, eh?

"Ya don't say? I neva' even set foot in tha jungle. Got attacked in heeah," Anatoli nodded his head. "Stay away from spotted cats. I think Colche was tha name... s'what Antony told me. She's bad news."

He'll make a note to stay away from the jungle, in any case. It's probably about ten times worse out there than it is in the village. "We must be livin' in different planes of existence or somethin'. Haven't seen much 'nice' since I got heeah." There was, of course, the exception of Antony, but Anatoli's overall view of his fellow islanders wasn't exactly stellar at the time being.

"Heh...Guess so, eh?" Marshall said, now just poking his pancakes with his fork, slightly tempted to eat the Sushi. But he resisted. Sushi for breakfest...Its disgusting...But damnit...Fish... he thought, glaring at the sea-weed covered roll before looking back at Anatoli.

"Colche, huh? I'll look out for...Him...Her...Whatever. I'll just avoid large, talking cats, eh?" Marshall said, smirking at his own bad joke.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 14, 2006 3:09 pm

"Pretty much," he shrugged, "Don't know how many otha' cats are around heeah, and I don't intend ta find out any time soon."

Anatoli leaned further back in his chair and put his arms behind his head. "Ya haven't barely touched any a' your food," he pointed out, "Ya not hungry or somethin'?

"Ehhh, I dunno...I think it has some thing to do with the Transformations or some thing. I'm just kinda getting use to the idea of WANTING to eat raw fish." Marshall admitted with a shrug. "I mean, all things considered Its not THAT weird, but still...First its Raw Fish, and before you know it I'm living in the river eatin' 'em live..."

Marshall wanted to kick himself. WRONG CHOICE OF WORDS, DUMBASS!

Anatoli sat there in silence for a few moments, trying to pick the right words. His mouth hung open as he attempted to say something, stupidly holding up his index finger.

"At least it's... fish, and not... meat," he said slowly, "Do ya know what you're becoming? Maybe some kinda fish yaself, 'cause a' your webbed fingas..."

Great. Convince the poor sucker he's becoming a cannibal!

"Heh...That'd suck...I'm not much of a swimmer, and I'm not one for Canibalism either...But, no worries. I think I'm becoming like a seal or some thing. I mean, not many options with feet like these, y'know?" Marshall said, taking the subject rather lightly.

"Any idea of what yer gonna be yet? I bet since you're family, Moreau will give ya some thing cool...Like, I dunno...Maybe a Lion or some thing?" Marshall said, rather naive to the sociopathic actions Moreau generally took.

"I guess a seal would make moah sense," Anatoli rubbed his chin, "But that nose ain't very seal-like ta me. But I ain't sure what it's supposed ta be, eitha'... I'd say maybe a seagull or somethin, but seagulls ain't got webbed hands."

He shrugged. "Not a damn clue. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave me a rat," the man waved his hand dismissively, "Or some otha vermin. Family don't mean anythin' if ya don't get along."

"Huh...Well a mouse wouldn't so bad, would it?" Marshall said, his some what jarring optimism showing. "I mean, apart from the giant ears and love of cheese I think it'd be pretty okay." he said, smiling, remembering the old Mickey Mouse cartoons he use to watch.

"I just hope I don't turn into any thing with more than one head, y'know?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 14, 2006 4:07 pm

"Ah... I don't think it's just because it's a mouse, it's more what tha mouse represents," Anatoli winced, rubbing a temple with two fingers. "Ya know what I mean? Like turnin' an Arabic guy into a camel or somethin'..."

He hoped that comparison made sense.

"...Wait a second..." Marshall said, taking a few moments to digest what Anatoli meant. What the mouse represented... he thought, rubbing his chin. Then, it finally sunk it (thanks mostly to the comic Maus)

"...You're Jewish?!?!" Marshall said enthusastically, "Can you teach me?!!" he said, not realing how slightly offensive (and infinatly stupid) what he was saying was.
