"go mudkip!" tommy yelled, picking a shelgon as the opponent. a battle unfolded.

MUDKIP VS SHELGON

Shelgon is faster. it starts out with a Leer. Mudkip's defense goes down. Mudkip uses ice beam, hurting the dragon type badly. Shelgon uses Zen headbutt, badly damaging Mudkip. Mudkip retaliates with yet another ice beam, this time freezing the Shelgon. the Shelgon is frozen solid. it uses a flamethrower, melting the ice, and striking mudkip unexpectedly. due to type, the damage is halved, but is increased by the score of the critical hit. Mudkip uses swagger, increasing the Shelgon's attack, but confusing it. Mudkip quickly put up a protect. Shelgon managed to get through the confusion, using dragonbreath, which hits the protect. Shelgon then tries to use zen headbutt, but hits itself in its confusion. "Mudkip, finish it! use hydro pump!" tommy yelled. Mudkip let loose a huge jet of water that blasted Shelgon across the room, KOing it. Mudkip stands triumphantly.

Sammy searched through her pokemon, trying to find one to match the weaknesses of Salamence. She didn’t have an ice type… A rock type… OR a dragon type. She sighed; this would be a hard battle. “Okay then…” she sighed. “Go,Comet!” she called, throwing a pokeball. Alakazam popped out, roaring a battle cry. The Salamence, just to test his strength, decided to use a small Ember. Of course it didn’t do much other than make Comet twitch. Comet wasn’t going to go easy, though. He shot a multi-colored Psybeam hurtling towards Salamence, slamming him right in the chest. Salamence growled challengingly, opening his mouth and unleashing a wicked Dragon Breath. Comet fell to the ground, stunned by the move, and used Psychic from his kneeling position to throw Salamence to the top of the cave, crashing into the ceiling, and coming back down. Salamence seemed to raise half of his lip, Crunching down hard on Comet’s arm. The move put Comet on the brink of fainting, so Sammy returned him. “Go, Vixen!” she cried. Pidgeot spread his wings challengingly.

Salamence bit down on Vixen’s tail, making him get very VERY angry at the foe. He flapped his wings vigorously in a Wing Attack, hurting Salamence a good amount. He was about to faint, at this point. Salamence roared loudly, unleashing one of its toughest moves; Dragon Claw! His claw grew a vibrant purple as he slashed at Vixen’s chest, sending him backwards and breathing heavily. “Now’s our chance! Mirror Move!” Sammy called, knowing that the Dragon would be harmed by its own move. The attack hit Salamence right across the chest, and he finally admitted defeat. “Good job, Vixen!” she cheered, returning her pokemon. She then walked up to the Salamence. “Good battle,” she congratulated, bowing. The Salamence also bowed. Sammy, now not scared of the dragon, reached up and hugged his neck. He seemed pleased by this, making a funny growl/purring noise.

“Maybe you guys aren’t so bad!” she chuckled, still clinging to the Salamence’s neck.

tommy was waiting for the chance to be able to get the piece of crystal he 'gave' (tossed) back to the salamance. he didnt dare until it was all over though. for good reasons to.

Ginji looks at Larvitar as a Salamence knocks it off of their leader's head with a flick of its tail, causing Larvitar to hurdle into Ginji with a faint squish. Larvitar's eyes are rolled back into its head as the green Pokemon Fainted. "Seriously? They want it like this?" Ginji sighed as he reached for Dragonite's Pokeball once more. In a flash of pitch black light, Darkrai appeared.

"Huh?" Ginji tilted his head, confused at the scenario, he definitely threw Dragonite's ball into the fray. He was kinda use to Darkrai appearing out of nowhere lately when a strong opponent appeared to challenge them.

"Forgive me, Ginji, for I long to taste the smell of battle once more in my soul. The exhilaration is too much for this old dark body to contain. Together, let us get rid of this ever present pest." Shadow Darkrai commented darkly as it roared, causing itself to go into Chaos Mode, a more powerful version of Reverse or Hyper Mode. The room darkened, causing Shadow Sky to appear in the stadium.

Salamence roared as it bared its teeth, Intimidating Darkrai, and started to move with a Dragon Dance, raising some stats in its favor. Darkrai merely laughed as it snapped itself out of Chaos Mode, feeling Ginji's nervousness to the mode, even if it was almost unbeatable. With a blast from its shadowy arm, Darkrai launched a Dark Void at Salamence, putting it to sleep like a baby with a bottle.

Now, both Shadow Sky's effect and Darkrai's Bad Dreams came into effect, effectively lowering Salamence's HP at the end of the round. Salamence was unable to wake up, could only sleep as Darkrai thought of a Nasty Plot to unleash next turn hopefully. Again, Shadow Sky and BAd Dreams took out a health chuck of Salamence's health.

Salamence finally woke up. And it was angry. With one swoop of its claws, it unleashed an Outrage to do massive amounts of damage to Darkrai. But the nightmare didn't care, it simply retaliated with a Dark Pulse boosted by its Life Orb took down Salamence in one shot.

Darkrai barely held on with its strength quickly draining from the use of Chaos Mode and from the power behind Salamence's attack due to the Dragon Dance. With a deep, dark, sigh Darkrai returned to Ginji's Pokeball as the boy whispered "And that's how you do it." he smiled as he looked around to see if the others were doing okay.

The shiny Salamence slowly hoists itself back to its feet and looks down at Tommy.

"Ergh. That one is cunning. To think it could defeat me. You? I do not remember you. Our kind are territorial. I may have been out hunting for a meal when you came before. My brothers probably attacked you to defend our home in my absence. As for the Crystal, I have proclaimed it yours upon proof of strength. Since you proved yourself, you may take it back."
He looks around and sees the crystal near his tail. With a well-placed flick, the shard slides right up to Tommy's feet.

"Aaaaww, Salamence are so cuddleable~" Sammy chimed, no longer afraid of the pokemon. She now adored them. "Can I give you a hug?" she asked the shiny Salamence, pleading puppy-dog eyes adourning her face.

"No," it said in a commanding tone. Two more Salamence came down to protect their leader in his weakened state.

"You are a worthy foe. We shall take our leave shortly."
"He raises a good point, everyone. We should go. There are still a lot of dragons here who haven't fought us yet. Let's keep it that way."
I bow to the shiny Salamence, then turn to start ushering everyone else out of the cavern.

(Edit) "Tommy, it might be best to keep future visits to a minimum. Remember, they do know where HQ is, and they're not fond of 'greedy humans.' I know you like this place, but it's their home and we need to respect that. Above all, do not approach that crystal of theirs."

"thank you, i wont anymore. bye!" said tommy as he exited the cavern behind thard. "cmon mudkip" tommy called after mudkip, who was shortly at his heels.
