Update of school stupidity.
For the last few days I've been organizing everything so I can either get assistance with school classes or assistance with Financial Aid. The school class assistance surprisingly is ten times more informative than the Financial Aid Department. (And she's on vacation.)
The Financial Aid Department requires you to do a 'To Do List' to get such aid. When I saw that I was required to prove my financial independence and that I am indeed a female, my first reaction was to call the department. I have to say when I saw my little "To Do List" it was the first time I have ever wanted to speak the words; "Look at my chest! They're large and in charge, take notice!" When I questioned the department for assistance they replied in a way that was demeaning and treated me as if I were a moron, in such a way that my first reaction was physical violence. Sense I hate such things I hung up on the aggravating woman.
It turns out that my parents use my rent to put towards the bills that are mine but in their name (My credit sucks like no tomorrow.), so it evens out to a point where I have nothing left to prove that I am financially independent. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that the 'proof of sex and finance' is automatically selected. No matter your age or how you fill out the forms. And after talking to a friend who works within the Financial Aid department in another state, I found out it can be easily corrected with the showing of select forms.
Needless to say, when I go in to show such forms, I will be telling them a few choice words. I need to be treated like a moron and laughed at, like I need tar beneath my tires.

I understood very little of what you said; but aren't pay stubs some kind of proof of financial independence?

Natalia Romanova I understood very little of what you said; but aren't pay stubs some kind of proof of financial independence? Tax forms is what they want. And independence from my parents. I have tax forms. Yay.

I understand that a lot of the people around me use Macs, specifically in the artistic community. And I even know why. Macs are computers for people who don't know how to use computers and basically don't want to. You don't have to fiddle with the hardware ever, everything is as easy as pie to do, the customer service is....well I think it sucks but they seem to like it.
So fine, you want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a computer you can't really upgrade except by buying another computer, go for it. They look good and a lot of artists really value that in a computer. I kinda like being able to dig around the motherboard. In the end, Macs and PCs accomplish basically the same thing with the same quality so long as you have comparable machines. No big deal. I've been using PCs forever, I know all the shortcuts, the tricks, and I like that I can do whatever the ******** I want with the hardware without voiding the warranty, so I'm not going to switch any time soon. I would miss half the software I use. It took forever for Chrome to make its way over to Macs.
What I can't stand is people never shutting up about Macs and constantly asking me when I'm going to switch over. When I got a virus on New Year's that destroyed a hard drive, all I heard was, "you should have switched sooner." When I was upgrading my audio card, all I heard was, "you should just buy a mac." When the iPad came out, there was a nonstop, "you know you want one, buy one" tirade. Now the iPhone4 is making the rounds and I am reaching the end of my rope. People who cannot afford one and wouldn't even use most of its features are complaining about how long they have to wait in line to get one. And then telling me how stupid I am for not getting one. No less than three people have told me that "the Android is the phone for people who are too cheap to buy the iPhone." Or maybe they just like it better. Maybe they like that it's not encrusted in easily shattered surfaces. Maybe they like that they don't have to switch to a shitty carrier like AT&T. Maybe they like not have a pay-per-byte system. Maybe they don't want someone dictating to them content or use of hardware like they're three. Maybe they just like it better.
The Cult of Apple is getting on my absolute last nerve.
