Go to the Guild story at the Heartless Angel arc and you'll find out what's going here in mist. Leaf and Sound are stil at war, Mist was helping Leaf but the Mizukage ie me, went hiatus and was frozen in a block of ice. Remorse is the new Mizukage. And now Sephiroth is back and then I came back to fight him.

We are the two kinds of opposite shinobi where we would fight for hours with no real outcome....
See....
Rein is the kind of shinobi that can make people like Zean believe that he is a magical banana from the land of noor. For hours on end until he snaps and ends up killing himself from the mental collapse.....
While Zean is the kind of shinobi that can make Rein regret having so many bones for Zean to pulverize into dust...
So nothing good would come out of that fight other than Zean becoming bat sh*t crazy and Rein becoming a boneless lump of dust.
