*Luciel nods, and flaps off, to go and help Coriander...that night, he shows up at the fifth level*

Sir...I hope what you have is good...because she says...and I quote...."Whatever the two of you are doing, it had better be worth not watching the sunset with me..."

Hlal-son flashes him an understanding grin and hands him a pair of ear clips, studded with a rather large and topaz and a dusting of rubies. "Do you think these will placate her. When I saw them I thought they'd go well with her coloring."

The he leads the tiny dragon further into the darkness. This place is so old, from before the war that spit of the dragon families. How do I know this? Look..." he remarks in a solemn hushed voice then claps his hands loudly with a single word of command.

The area about them is flooded with light and Luceil jumps, startled out of his wits. The are in a meeting room of a sorts that appears to have set outside the hands of time. The room is in shambles, as if just after a fight, Cushions sit in alcoves, large enough for a dragon to preside on and desks and small tables are interspersed through out the whole, though most are now tumbled or broken and their inhabitants dead, some scorched beyond recognition. And on a dais at the far end of the destruction lies the body of a great female dragon, her glimmering white scales, splattered with dried blood, her head removed.

"Begin recording..." says Hlal-son grimly and begins his tale. "What I see before me was the result of treachery most foul and the reason Paladine will never forgive his sister her sins...." And he spins a tale from ancient time, some partially from inbred memories, some from word of mouth, reenforced byt the scene before him. Telling Luceil of the Fall of Dragons.

*Luciel, paws aching, records all that Hlal-son tells him to*

Sir...what is this place?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 8:50 am

"I believe it to be the Hall of Judgment, for it is said that it is there that our fall began." He sighs and his face grows sadden beyond comprehension. After I opened this place I realized my foolishness. Your father may never forgive me... and I am eternally grateful that it was you and no other who found it in them to wander a field. I was fully ready to silence any other. You show signs of perhaps walking in my footsteps... and would make a good historian for the generations to come. You have a wisdom, beyond your years... though it has yet to be tempered with a sense of responsibility."

*Luciel nods*

A historian...I think I'd like that...but I want to explore first...before I settle down....to find new things...and not simply record what others find...
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:04 am

"Which is as it should be... no true historian should pass up the chance to broaden his comprehension of the world around him. Those who do are as dead as the things they write about. Come. We are done here tonight. I'll try to seal it back up, but how long it will remain in this state now that I have broken several major spells over it, will be left to see. I pray your father does not remove my head as well because of this."

Hlal-son leads the small dragonb outside the room and to the landing, where he invokes a short phrase and then nods, loooking drained. If you would please return those notes to my chamber for processing before flying to your small fiery mistress, I would be eternally grateful. I... I think I'll rest here for a bit."

*Luciel nods...then looks at Hlal-Son...*

Elder Brother....is what I'm doing...with Igniska wrong...I mean...if being a hybrid metallic is bad....what would it mean to be a hybrid metallic....paired with a chromatic?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:17 am

"Luceil... you saw what happened in there? Do you know what started it? We were so proud and so sure of ourselves... some of us even put ourselves above others, declaring ourselves too pure to be contaminated... Mayhaps had we interbred more, none of it would have happened... Not all the chromatics are evil... even as not all the metallics are good. We are a people, divided and doomed to fade. Perhaps it is you and Igniska who will save us... who knows... but if truth be told. I would far rather see a future where dragons roam, proud and free than see us fade into oblivion completely."

*Luciel nods*

Elder Brother....How...How old....How old do I have to be to marry?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 9:25 am

"Quite a bit older than you are now, Luceil. Enjoy your freedom while you can. Neither of you are ready to settle just yet. And I believe you haven't even spoken of that possibility with your lady as yet." laughs Hlal-son with a sad grin. "Remember our lives are long, you will have centuries together should you choose to do so. Love her and guard her, hers is a path that will difficult to walk, especially as she grows older and more fully into her powers."

*Luciel nods*

I was simply curious....as to the exact age....because I'm 29 right now...

Note: As near as I can calculate his age, anyways...and dragons take theirs at about a hundred-120, right?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 1:41 pm

"You have a long way to go before your body, much less your mind is ready for that, Luceil. And if you try it with her, She's liable to claw your eyes out for even attempting it. Come back when yer pushing 100 and we'll talk about it then, ok?" laughs Hlal-son heartily. He grins down at the young dragon and shakes his head. "You have been reading far too many books, I believe... concerning other races."

*Luciel turns copper...bright copper....russet-red copper....he glows rose....the cavern lights up, he's so blasted copper*

Hlal-son sends him back home, reminding him to drop off the tablets before he retires for the night. "And don't forget to give Igniska those ear clips, I picked them out just for her now..."

*Luciel, after dropping the tablets off at Hlal son's cave...hiding them so only the elder could find them...moved to where Igniska was...and handed her the ear clips*

These good enough? Am I forgiven, oh mistress of all Beauty?
