"More or less." he shrugged, "As for the town, we had a bit of a scare recently. People grabbed their things and left quickly, a lot of them, and only a few have started to come back in the few days passed since." He bent over at the waist, a fluid bow with one fist pressed against the other open palm in front of him. "Rivven Dilys LeFaye. The town's either lost its name or never had one; it's called Black Amber, with the rest of this area, for the Black Amber Clan, as the prominant group in the area goes by." he turned and started walking the way he'd pointed, waving her to follow after.

There was a shrug, people meant inns, and inns meant food. So follow him she would. "Kalin." She spoke gently, her voice full of culture. "Kalin D'Nom" And then she was quiet, her hands in the pockets of her pants with her staff on her back. The bandages around her arms were a little loose but she could fix them later.
"So what causes a whole town to up and jump ship?"

Emerging from a dense bit of forest to more open accomodations, Ultima found himself on the top of a large hill. Eyes moving down to the wheelchair he had brought thus far, a smile graced his face.
"You know... your gonna crash" he said lightly to himself. He nodded knowing this was true but then retorted "So?"
"My point exactly" biggrin and he jumped on the chair, his weight making the chair cart down the hill. The initial speed doubling, then tripling, Then stopping.
Stopping?
I dare say it seems Ultima crashed into a pond, not the chair however as it stopped after a tree root crept into the wheel half way down the hill, effectively launching Ultima into said pond.
Ouch...

Soaking wet, Ultima couldn't help but laugh at himself as he exited the pond. Retrieving the chair again he walked slowly, letting the wind and sun dry him off.
Along the way, and still rather damp he came upon a charred dust and ruble ridden heap he once called his second home, The bar.
"I dare say it is time that we rebuilt you" he said candidly to a overturned part of what appeared to be the remnants of the kitchen sink.

"Well, it's been an interesting month, that's for sure." Kalin said aloud, not to anyone in particular, unless you considered the stark black hawk that was currently on a branch a few feet away from her. The hawk turned this way, then that before staring at the young maiden who was currently on her knees in the dirt.
"Oh shush you..." She laughed then, a high tinkling almost melodious laugh as her hands sunk into the rich earth again. She then pulled them out, large chunks of dirt coming with her only to be overturned. She then took her grimy fingers, and heedless of said dirt, ran her fingers through her mass of bright red curls, pulling the sweaty tendrils from her face. "I enjoy this and you know it." The hawk just gave a squawk and pretended to ignore her.
Then from her belt at the side of her lavender outfit, she pulled a small pouch. From it, came several small seeds, which she placed in several rows. along the upturned earth. "Almost done, then we can go home."She spoke quietly, her palms on the dirt. There was a soft glow that flashed brightly for just a second before settling down to a gentle light.
Kalin then stood, and held her arm out to the hawk. "Alright, David. Time to go."

Priest had to admire hawks, they were infamously hard to control as familiars, yet they seemed to take to humans. But humans could domesticate anything. He wasn't watching her long before he stepped out to make himself visable. It would have been hardly possible when he first arrived, but four weeks of slowly exposing himself to the sunlight as well as the ability now to purchase useful and exotic fabrics from the merchants that suddenly flooded the area had been highly favorable for him. "So soon? Permit me at least a few moments to introduce myself."

There was a twirl of lavender fabric as Kalin turned, the hawk letting out a loud squawk as it rose to the air again, and made straight for the stranger's hair.
"Davidon, NO!" The hawk would then merely graze the stranger's hair if he did nothing more foolish then try to shield himself. The redhead then pushed back her hood and looked at the man, her normally grayish green eyes brightening to a vibrant green.
"My apologies, he is most protective of me."

He didn't think about covering his head, he merely stared at it as it came at him, he was almost dumbfounded. It had been so long since he had interacted with one of those creatures."A good pet then, I should like one myself. Tell me, do you wander out here often, or is there yet another section of Black Amber that I have yet to see?"

She lifted her arm, for the hawk to come rest upon. "Davidon is not a pet. He is my companion and guardian. Say hello, Davidon." The Hawk let out a majestic squawk though it's beady eyes stared down at the man before them. Almost as imperialiously as Kalin herself.
"I've lived here about a month. No one has said anything to me about this being improper."

Saying a creature wasn't one's and then commanding it to do something did seem somehow paradoxal to- he pushed it aside. "I too have been here for that stretch, and have mainly concerned myself with some select sections of the city. I wanted a break from such business and so returned back to the wilderness. You live here?"

It had been a month, and oh what a month it had been. Since destroying most ties to his past weakness he had left to search for himself and he had found what he so desired. Though he still limped with a cane in his hand he moved with a calm trudging step down the newly laid road. The fact that they had lain brick out so far was testamount to the wealth the mayor had been hoarding and neglecting to spend on civil projects. That would change hopefully. Hopefully there was more room for his old interests of intrigue to dabble in.

"For now." Leaving that part charmingly and annoyingly ambvilant. She ran her delicate fingers over the hawk's head, barely grazing the crown with her fingertips. Both heads cocked to the side, observing the person across from him, as if he were a butterfly on a display. Almost boredly curious.
"Not to be rude, but is there a reason you stopped me?"

"None in the world. Am I detaining you?" If she lived out here it wasn't likely. "I'm a little south of some of the main trading points. The building used to be a men's dormitory when the first few arrived."

"Not particularly..." There was a delicate shrug as her head lifted, and the bird and woman looked at each other as if silently communicating. "But then, neither are you seeming to have anything to say beyond small talk. For which I see no reason. And since you don't know me, I'm unclear as to it's purpose."

"We know nothing about eachother. Really, is there anything to say save small talk?" he answered, mildly surprised "We're both fairly new to these parts, and we both wander the wilderness. I can see where knowing eachother may be to our advantage."
