That was intense. I just had to talk my girlfriend out of killing herself. Whats worse is, if she did, she'd be leaving her daughter on her own.

I can bear talkative people, seeing as I have 3 in my family.
So she's okay now?

Okay, so my Dell Latitude C840 laptop (circa 2003) that I have been using for the past year or so just exploded. Not literally. But after one of RAM modules gave out, the video card soon followed, and then the other RAM module, and so on. Sunday, August 10th at 5:00pm PST, I pronounced my laptop 'dead'.
At this point, I was about to log on to Gaia on my friend's laptop to tell you guys that I would probably be out of commission for a week or two. But I decided against it due to fatigue and left it till today.
But I had work this morning.
I went home to my parents to discuss the options of either 1. getting me a new laptop with their money(then eventually paying them back) or 2. Me getting an extra $2k student loan to buy myself one. I was about to step onto the first stair when my stepdad comes down and hands me a Prada bag saying: "Here you go, your Mom and I talked about it, and decided we're sharing a laptop and you can have my old one."
That was what caught me dumbfounded, because I HAVEN'T told my parents yet that my laptop died 4 months before its prognosis date. And I come home to tell them that I need a new one only to be greeted by a second-hand one in the face.
Granted it's not the best 'new' laptop (the only significant differences between this one and my old one are the network card and 10 gb more of hard drive space), but at least I don't have to worry about paying for a new one just yet.

That's a lucky turn of events, Gale. biggrin
Sorry to hear you needed to go through that, Skreemer. I'm glad to hear you succeeded, though.

Wow. I have had a fair amount of suicidal experience, but that is intense. I hope all is okay now . . . a very dark place to be, and hard to get out of.
*looks to Gale* Good on ya, mate! I don't know what I would do if my Laptop went ker-sploosh. All my schoolin and pron is on here. O_o
*reads Drifter's siggy and starts humming* I see a red door and I want it painted bla-ack . . .

Bonjour, StarDrifter! *huggles*
Paint it Black is a cool song. My favourite version has got to be the Inkubus Sukkubus cover.
Oh, and hi, Talon. *hugs the bossman*

Don't worry about it, love. I wouldn't know the song either, if not for my grandfather. Besides, it's a rather old song.

Well, I actually do know my fair share of older songs, so I'm rather surprised I don't know it. >>;; Oh well, it's nothing I'll lose sleep over.
wink
Anywho, is this the time you're usually up and about, Trowa?
