Azeiel The Fallen @ruhi if you thinking of jumping over it good luck with that Five meters is equal to roughly 18.5 feet. Also seeing as it is not listed in the bloodline just use an amount ranking wise that you would think is appropriate. Clone's to you. Just outside of arm reach. flanking from the sides. They are to pinch you in on the sides to keep you from maneauvering side to side. While the beam of shocking pain is to keep you from moving forward and backward.
Mifune from setsu. oh about fifteen to twenty feet.Your character MIGHT have a chance to react but only a small one. If you do it right he can get out with just a minor shocking but avoiding it all together would be a stretch.

While the width is impressive, I doubt the height is much since it's just a beam. If the ceiling is high enough, then Setsuna can easily jump over it at the right angle before it hits the clones.
Sure, maybe he gets hit but by that point he won't be grounded, he'll be in the air and receive a little harmless shock, which will probably be countered by the rubber soles of his shoes.

The beam is according to the description five meters in diameter which equals about 28.5 feet. The clones, two kunai and they are down in a burst of raiton. but avoiding the full brunt of that blast will be incredibly difficult because by the time you have dispatched the clones and their explosions of lighting die down you will be hit by the big one. So as far as I can tell its big shock or not so big shock XD

You're talking about the Lightning Beam technique, right? C-Rank?
It only says that the beam is now twice as WIDE as before. Width does not mean height also, only from side to side.

Its a beam sweetheart not flat its a "circle" if it was flat it would be a" wave". Width equals height......................................................................................................... He can always call uncle and Mifune can end the jutsu before it hits ^.^

And as far as I know, a beam of light is not a circle, a beam is just a ray of light. A beam has no set shape and is definitely not always a circle.
A ray of light meaning that it is a line, meaning slender width.
Your beam of lightning can grow in width but not in height Az. Thus why it is a C-rank technique and not bumped up to A-Rank where it would be called the Kamehameha or Hadoken.

Sweetheart I have a bachelors in physics and engineering I think I know what width is. In a circle width is called the diameter and the diameter of a circle is always set and will not change from side to side. Now in the sake of not fighting because I have noticed that in RP-s when ever there is a fight OOC both people go inactive and I dont want that for the guild. As you said its a beam thus no definite shape I will meet you half way, just because it does not list a height does not mean that it does not have one, and say that the beam is ..... two meters high that is roughly seven feet high. Also the reason that jutsu is where it is is because all of the jutsus we have in this guild were copied from Quasters Shinobi Youchi and Misuyage's Shinobi villiges (or whatever the ******** it is called ) because this guild is a mixture of the two with some minor changes. Jutsu list modification and adjustment is not among those changes. So as I said I will meet you half way(details above) and talk with shinny about editing some of the jutsu ranks .

I believe that the people who made the technique do not have a fancy smancy degree and were thinking width means how wide, not the diameter. Becauuuuseeee, if they had thought it meant diameter and realized how big the beam would get they would have put the technique at A-rank in the first place.
If you agree that a beam has no definite shape then why are you still thinking that it is a circle? If it's a ray then it is flat, it is not going to be a circle and your argument is invalid. Plus they say it becomes twice as wide, not the width has increased.
Wide = side to side, width = your definition.
Edit: Actually, the definition of width is also...
1. The state, quality, or fact of being wide.
2. The measurement of the extent of something from side to side.

Sweets like you just said the reason that tech is where it is is because people dont know just how big a meter is. Also THEY DONT THINK LIKE ME AND YOU. I am willing to meet you half way and have shinny edit this thing once he gets on to correct the grammar Errors. If you want to say that it has no width then fine go ahead and jump over it I would enjoy seeing you justify your character being able to jump nearly eight foot to escape the full brunt of it. And while he is in mid-air I will blast him in the mouth with another one. The choice is yours my friend I leave the decision up to you.
