Hmm…” Marasol stated when she noticed that Jet Kazama was temporarily out of her view; which meant that for a short amount of time she would have to possibly have to rethink her strategy. If she were to call off her dark homing ninja stars, then at least she would still have her weaponry. So when Jet Kazama would reveal himself again she could get him to go back on the run. If Marasol went that route then there was a chance that Jet may have gotten on his feet, notice that the stars weren’t coming after him and catch a break when he had one that was long enough. With Marasol launching the stars in Jet’s direction as he got out of view, he would have to think on his toes real fast, but perhaps lose the ninja stars. They may get lodged into the concrete once more or into something else similar. It sounded like a small loss but if Jet decided to rush her out of nowhere her chakra infused ninja stars would be no good. With the slight motion of her fingers to increase the velocity of the cold ninja steel, her mind was already made up. Forget the ninja stars(for now at least); this was after all a review. She wanted to see what Jet would pull out of his trick bag next. The ninja stars would be seen inside of a flower pot, while a few would have left a small crack on the actual clay. From here, curiosity would get the best of Marasol as she took a few steps on the rooftop. It was enough to see what had happened to Jet; which route was he going to take against Marasol. And then things became interesting.

Looking over towards the spot where Jet had fell, or would have fell there was a flower pot. One would believe or be convinced that nothing would be wrong in this situation. The only problem was the flower pot that Marasol had observed was the only flower pot around. The rest of them were buried in soil near the grass, which could only mean one thing. “Substitution…not bad Jet…”she paused, just as she heard the teachers mention that their training was too much and that they had to tone it down below. At least, that’s how she interpreted it. When she heard the voice of the Shinobi Academy teacher she gave out a faint laugh, almost as if she didn’t have to answer to the Shinobi Academy teacher. “But you can do better...” She thought as she allowed the Shinobi Academy teacher to get closer, just before Marasol would give him a piece of her mind. The girl had already talked to the teachers and were aware that her training with Jet Kazama was going on and that unless it was an emergency situation; such as Hidden Volcano was under attack, interruptions would not be something she had to worry about. In other words, it was Jet Kazama under the veil of an Academy teacher. Showing Jet Kazama that she wasn’t foolish enough to believe it she went for a swift strike towards his jugular, which Kazama responded by ducking and performing a low sweep. If Jet’s attack was successful, then Marasol would have of course slipped, roll and fall to the hot pavement below.

Instead, her left leg quickly slid back slightly as her body ducked down and spun at the same time, matching the same degrees Jet spun when he unleashed his sweep kick. So instead of Jet Kazama’s sweep meeting her ankles, that leg that was coming fast would be stopped her own instead. As she could feel Jet Kazama’s sweep stop in its tracks, with her body signaling no sign of real pain, she gave him a small grin before she positioned herself to hop back up a few feet before going on the offense. Instead of manipulating ninja stars via chakra she went the taijutsu route, dashing towards Jet Kazama only to appear right behind him facing him, unleashing a flurry of roundhouse kicks towards his entire back region. The body flicker technique was a marvelous technique.

It was a good thing that Jet Kazama didn’t expect his Henge no jutsu to work one hundred percent, otherwise he would have been a bit discouraged. Jet just wanted to know how close was Marasol going to let him It was also a good thing that Jet was on the guard when Marasol retaliated with a nasty jugular strike that would have placed him on the floor in a quick minute; in addition to what happened when he struck next. Instead of Marasol performing a jutsu of any kind, she mimicked Jet Kazama’s fast sweep kick. He may have had power in that move, and probably would have been finished with his training if it connected, but that didn’t matter since it was stopped in its tracks by Marasol. It was no surprise that she was having fun torturing the Asura a little bit. However After putting out that sweep it seemed that she was becoming confident...maybe a little too confident? From her little grin she gave Jet it seemed that way. So now the two were going to square off taijutsu style? No homing ninja stars or anything similar? That was perfectly fine with Jet Kazama, since taijutsu was one of his strengths. Like Marasol before him, Jet Kazama positioned himself to where he could jump back, giving him some space before he was going go go on the offensive against Marasol; show her exactly why it would have been better if she had just kept the range instead.

Jet Kazama charged after her, preparing to unleash a three sixty roundhouse kick and quickly kick with the other leg in the process; landing with the leg that was thrown first. Except that she was quickly nowhere to be seen in front of him. His eyes narrow in suspicion for less than a second before Jet Kazama picked up on the fact that she was behind him. She wasted no time either after she appeared behind him, launching a multitude of roundhouse kicks. Damn they were fast! Jet Kazama did a good job avoiding them with his agility, ducking and dodging at they were seen flying past his body at an insane close range. Then on a kick where Jet Kazama lost count on, Marasol had faked a kick to see if Jet would bite on it. When he was seen blocking where he thought the kick was going to connect next, the facial expression on Jet said it all. He knew that he took the bait and Marasol from there took advantage. What happened next was that Jet could feel his feet being forcefully swiped from underneath him from Marasol’s kick and then quickly felt a sharp pain from his abdomen as well as he was sent flying from the top. “Damn” he uttered in pain before he spun around and landed on the ground in a kneeling position; his hand caressing the region that Marasol inflicted that sharp pain in. Looking directly at the pavement, he could hear her footsteps walking towards him casually. “What’s up, you finished Jet?” she asked in a smug tone. “Heh heh....Why? Getting tired on me Marasol?” Jet answered before he got back up on his two feet, dusted off his mid-section and motioned Marasol to come get some with his left index/middle finger. “Let’s go.”

Around the thirty minute mark, a tired and sweaty Jet Kazama was seen leaving the Shinobi Academy with a tired Marasol, as she had called for a private boat that would escort the two of them back to Hidden Volcano. He had passed his review, showing everything that Marasol had taught him, even if she put him in situations where using some techniques were unwise. There were much more opponents out there that wouldn’t go easy on Jet Kazama. As for his extra training that was completed as well under Marasol. It was obvious that Jet Kazama got sparring down; his bloodline and race made sure of that. Dummy fighting was also a pass, since he was sparring against real people such as Marasol. Weight Lifting and Weight running was already an interest to Jet Kazama that Marasol didn’t have to push that on him too much. Target Practice on the other hand was different, since Jet Kazama preferred his blade. If only Marasol knew what the blade meant to Jet Kazama and why it was important for him to have it at all times, then she could see things from a different point of view. But Kazama understood that there were going to be times that the sword just wasn’t going to cut it(no pun intended). With Leaf channeling and chakra molding, Jet was fine with that. With more techniques that he possessed his chakra would build along with his channeling and concentration. It would especially come easier with his sword, which allowed him to channel his fire/magma techniques through his blade; make it easier on his body. And meditating was a category where Jet Kazama was fine in as well. His parents had taught him well when it came to meditating and clearing the mind back when they were still alive on their paraside known as Esidarap. It was when things seemed easy and everyone knew and cared for each other. When they got to the docks, they saw their captain give them a heads up, letting them know that they were ready whenever the two of them were. Jet took a last look at the Shinobi Academy, since it was rule that once you left with the minimum techniques, coming back was impossible unless under certain circumstances. He looked towards the captain then back to Marasol with a small smile who had made eye contact with him as well. “Let’s go.”

"Onee-chan! Hold up, you're too fast!" The brunette ran down the street, her long hair trailing behind her like the tail of a comet. Indeed, as far as a level of destructiveness, there were those in her home village who would say that both she and her sister were comets, or meteors. they'd crash into the midst of something and leave a wake of chaos behind them. Not out of maliciousness, but merely out of their love for pranks, for tricking people or intentionally stirring them into an uproar.

But as far as anyone could tell, they weren't up to any mischief today. Then again, most of the time their mayhem was only discovered after the fact, too late to get them in trouble. They'd turned it into an art form of sorts, pushing the other villagers of Hidden Sound as far as possible without breaking. Occasionally one would snap, but usually they were surprisingly adept at knowing what a person's limits were, and staying just on the safe side of that limit.

And now, here they were, unleashed on a whole new play area. The Ninja Academy. By the time they were through with it, well, there was a reason they were practically chased out of Hidden Sound once or twice before. As the brunette continued to run, she could just barely catch a glimpse of her sister. They were twins, and by and large looked very similar to each other. A deadly weapon to pranksters like them. There were really only two differences, and even those could occasionally be shifted. She had long hair, while her sister had shorter hair. As well, they each had a bat tattoo on a shoulder, though on the opposite arm from one another. What made it interesting, each had planned to get their tattoo separately, without ever mentioning it to their sister. So imagine the surprise, when they both returned home that day, and found out they had each gotten a tattoo, and the same one, no less! Her tattoo was on the right shoulder, while her sister had opted for the left.

Finally, she was within range, and took a flying leap, aiming to stop her sister by the simple expedient of tackling her. A bit rough, to be sure, but hardly uncommon for the two of them. Perhaps too common, as just as she was about to collide with her sister's back, she ducked. Cue a sudden exhalation of breath as she missed her target, but only on the initial impact. She ended up practically belly-flopping on top of her sister, who instantly got up again and raced off once more. "There, now you won't be left behind, sis! Must be hard to run with such a big butt, though!"

"Shut up, stupid! Stupid nee-chan!" While it sounded like they were at odds with each other, this was just normal byplay for them, and woe to anyone who got between them during those times. At moments like that, they would turn on any outsider, and while their attacks on each other had been playful, the claws would come out. They'd turn on the fresh meat like a pair of wolves.

Several moments later, they finally reached their destination, the Ninja Academy's rear entrance. Why in the world would they possibly need to come in through the back? Well how else were they going to figure out an alternate escape route from the building, if they were to, say, set off a smoke bomb or something? The front door would be under guard most of the time, but the rear entrance not nearly as much. Even if ninja were supposed to be super vigilant and attentive to any detail, still such an obvious weakness went unnoticed. It had happened back in Hidden Sound, and it would surely happen here, too. Even after the villagers back home had undoubtedly tried to warn the teachers here. Just like all the others, they'd just laugh it off as 'kids being kids'. They'd learn the truth soon enough, though by then it would be too late. By that point, they'd have the building's layout memorized, all the bets hiding places and such at their disposal.

Sion was finally let down from Rion's back, and she dusted herself off a moment before leaning in to whisper. "Okay, we're clear on the plan, right? Just recon now, we'll save the fun stuff for after classes. Alright, break!" They both slipped in through the door, making little more sound than a fly. Luckily, the back entrance was deserted at this time of the day, the staff was either already setting up their classes, or were at their other stations, getting work done. That meant the hallways were largely in the clear. This worked out well for the twins, who needed to get a rough idea of the buildin's layout before they could home in on the locations that had been abandoned or went unused from the beginning. Every large structure had at least one. A room that served no purpose. It was there on the blueprints, but had gone unused for so long that it was practically invisible. That was what they were looking for now.

They found it, too. On the second floor, there was a door that held no placard, no sign of what was inside. The door wasn't locked either, but it was stuck. A few solid shoulder blows, and it finally popped open, letting them in. Inside, it was about as they had expected. Empty except for a thick layer of dust. Even the cleaning staff didn't visit this room. Perfect. They closed the door behind them and got to work setting up a proper hiding place. A few of the basic necessities would need to be brought in, but it would be perfectly serviceable once it was at least cleaned. that could wait until later, though. They needed to get to their classes first! They didn't dare do anything to draw attention to themselves, not until after they had set up their first prank. And it was going to be a doozy!

For now, though, it was time for classes. Boring, to be sure, but necessary. After all, in their preparations for coming here, they had already spent many hours studying. Not just the curriculum, of course, but also information on the Academy itself. So they were already somewhat familiar with the ideas of what they would be learning. Only a small portion of it would be useful to them, however. Whether they would remain and listen to any additional lessons remained to be seen. After all, the longer they stayed, the better the chance of them pulling off a truly great prank.

They arrived at their first class with a few minutes to spare. Already, there were a fair number of students seated and chatting, and more arriving every moment. There were only a few spots left that had two open seats, so they grabbed one of the few without missing a beat. Of course, it only took a moment for their status as twins to be noticed. Why was it that everywhere they went, everyone always acted like seeing twins was such an odd and rare sighting? Really, with as much as everyone had gathered around them, it almost felt like they were in a cage in the zoo. Not pleasant. Perhaps a few pranks would shake the place up enough to put a stop to such behavior?

The teacher came in a few moments later, looking for all the world like a studious old codger. In truth, it was obvious he was just using a disguise. Either an actual disguise complete with wig and face, or a Hensojutsu. The Flina twins weren't about to fall for something so passe. After all, they had practically originated the idea of using a disguise to make a false first impression. So they both kept an eye on the teacher, getting a feel for his movements to get a better estimate of how old he really was, along with a lot of other details, too. Taking everything they could see as a falsehood gave them more information that might be expected, too. By seeing the fake teacher with green eyes, that meant the real teacher's eyes were any color but green. And so on. Bit by bit, they began to unravel the mystery. It would take more than this single day to figure it out, but they eventually would. Whether that information would help them or not remained to be seen. But better by far to have it and not need it, than not and wish they did.

The rest of the day's lessons were just as boring as the beginning had been, the break for lunch a welcome reprieve. They weren't particularly hungry, but the free time was precious indeed. So while they kept up an appearance of making friends, talking about whatever the conversation gravitated toward, all the while they were in fact building up mental dossiers about their rival students. There was little chance of any of them being enemies, not true enemies at least. But all the same, the more they knew, the better the odds that they would know how the targets would react when they launched their pranks. They wouldn't want some shy little shrinking violet to go crazy and wreck the whole thing before it was ready!

The lizard girl, for instance. She was going to be trouble. she seemed way too serious, like she took all the political jargon about being soldiers for their countries to heart. She would be off limits for pranks, not until the end anyways. The super serious sorts like that, they always reacted badly. and when they wore armor, that just made things even more dangerous.

The girl with the eyepatch, there was some potential there. She seemed more aloof than serious, and since she was in a seperate class, that was alright. She was in the evening classes, along with a fair number of other students. So pranking her was possible, but out of the way in their normal plans. Still, they wouldn't count her out just yet.

Another candidate was the little fox girl. She seemed too young to even be there, and she seemed almost as mischievous as them. With someone like that, you simply had to prank them! And do it quickly, before they got you first! Already, they had caught her eye, the gauntlet had been thrown. Who would be the first to trick the other? This would be a fearsome battle from the shadows, there was no doubt there.

Finally, there was the busty demon girl. She was hard to spot. Normally, such a statement was hard to believe. With the size of her chest, it was hard not to notice her. But what made it hard was because pretty much any time they could get away with it, there was an entire pack of guys thronged around her. Each likely trying to impress or woo her. No subtlety at all, any of them. She didn't seem to be doing anything to stop them, either. Did she enjoy the attention? That was interesting, that gave them the idea for the perfect prank to pull on her. They'd only used it once before, but the results had been fantastic. Yes, it was about time to dust the cobwebs off that idea...

In the meantime, however, class was starting. They paid only cursory attention to what the teacher was saying, returning to more important matters. After all, everything that they were hearing was stuff they had already learned on their own. This last lesson of the day couldn't go too fast, as far as they were concerned. There was so much they still had to do! Supplies to be smuggled in, traps to set, even a few cameras to try to set up in just the right locations to aid in their surveillance of the targets. And even if the teachers weren't expecting much from this newest crop of students, it would still be a challenge to smuggle in contraband right under their collective noses. Likely literally, in more than one occasion.

No, what they needed to do was to find a way to bring those things in, but in plain sight. After all, if they could get permission to bring in one smoke bomb, then they would stand a much better chance to bring in more later. It was just that first opportunity that they would need. But how? They obviously couldn't say the real reasons, they would have to come up with something.

"Make sure to mention 'studious', teachers love words like that. It makes them think we've been paying attention."

"I know that! I was the one who found that out in the first place, remember?"

"Nuh-uh, it was me! It was from Karagi-san at the restaurant!"

"No, it was that foreign-looking hermit at the edge of town, the one who collected odd herbs and smelled like weird smoke!"

They continued to bicker for several moments until they realized they were once more getting distracted. In the end, it didn't really matter which of them was the first to find that trick out. It just mattered that it worked. So they could save the argument for later, and save their energy now for the real targets. They'd already decided on the first target, and the perfect prank to go with it. Nothing too big, they couldn't attract too much attention to what they were doing. It would make the teachers get all uptight about security and boring stuff like that, and make their task that much more difficult. No, just something small for now. And if it was 'small', then it simply had to be the fox girl. Now that they knew what their first prank would be, and who the target was, they could begin the proper preparations.

When classes were dismissed for the day, they acted much like everyone else, eager to leave, and spent a good hour or so simply chatting with some of the friends they had already gained. A circle of people you were on good terms with was an absolute must, it was the beginnings of a working information network. They wouldnt try to dig too deeply from this new group, not just yet. But some time later, when they had need of a vital piece of intelligence, then would be the time to ask. For now, though, they were just friends. Also, an alibi. After all, they had been seen chatting with them for some time after the classes had ended, so who was to say that they had ever come back to the Academy later that night, during the midst of the night classes?

That was precisely what they did. They were used to operating at night, that was one of the best times to set up some of the more complex pranks. Like this one. Oh, it was simple enough to set up. They just wanted to amke absolutely sure it would work on demand, they were not going to allow their first prank here to go awry. So they tweaked a string here, nudged a lever there, a whole series of minute adjustments that would have made any bomb disposal team proud. Finally, it was done. And look, they even had a few hours to catch some sleep, maybe even a very late supper combined with an early breakfast? They had expected as much, so they dug into a portion of their secret stash, chomping at bars of chocolate and chilled cans of coffee. Caffeine! Sweet and glorious caffeine, without which pranks like this would be a much more daunting process!

Laura smiled as she raised her hand. The trees shuffled as the apple dropped slowly into her hand. She kept her pace as she gracefully lowered her arm to her mouth, where she bit into the ripe apple. She proceeded to devour the crisp, fresh, juicy apple. The breeze heavily weighed on her for a couple seconds as she walked the same direction. The grass on the side of the road flew aross its own ocean with the swaying wind. The white, new, cool fence stayed as a border on the road, seperating the grass sea and the orchard from the cool road.

Laura grinned to herself further as she thought about bringing out her sythe and using her own seperate, signature jutsu. It was her signature. She valued it like her Nindo. Her signature jutsu was quite cool. It had her bring out her sythe and swing around. The grass around would get caught in the currents and become needle-sharp. She would proceed to spin and anyone caught in the tornado would be stunned by the wind and then hit by the grass needles, of which some can pierce through bone. Not all of them can. It depends on which current they catch on.

Laura kicked up a little dust as she marched heavily in the dirt road. The grass got loose and came around her. It made her feel good. Like her village was always with her. No matter what she went through. It was comforting. She slowed her quick pace as she saw the academy far ahead the long dirt road she was walking on. She couldn't bear the thought of going in! She could fail! What if she disappointed her clan? She couldn't go through with it. Her pace was extremely slow now as cruel thoughts raced her crossed mind. She could do really good, or go and fail awfully. She couldn't fail her clan or village. It was unthinkable! It will kill her. Utterly kill her.

Laura felt herself shake and shiver as she got closer. She was close now. Sixteen feet. Too close. Too close to failure. Or sucess. But only failure echoed in her head. Over and over. Never ending chaos. She could fail.

She shook her head quickly to get rid of the thoughts. She walked closer to the building that could make or break her pride and future. She felt her fists crush iteself under its own power and frightening nervousness. She couldn't turn back now, but could she face this academy? She neared the door and lifted her hand to it. She could do it. Or could she?

Laura froze as her hand made contact with the door. She couldn't stand failure. Her hand still moved the door and her feet walked in. She couldn't stand failure, but you can't suceed if you never try. She looked around the academy room. The walls were light blue, which made her feel calm. There wasn't anyone in the room with Laura. Laura sighed heavily with relief. A couple of dummies were in the room, along with shurikens and a pool of water at the end of the room. She looked on the board, which had a list of jutsu and training, along with some descriptions. It read:

[Ninjutsu] Henge no Jutsu: This technique allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.

[Ninjutsu] Bushin no Jutsu: This technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the clone gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

[Ninjutsu] Art of Substitution: This is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

[Taijutsu] Tree Climbing: The Tree Climbing technique serves a dual purpose. The first is that it helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. The second is that it teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise.

[Taijutsu] Water Walking: A variation on the Tree Climbing Technique, Water Walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.
Chakra Molding:

Leaf Concentration:

Shuriken/ Kunai Target Practice:

Weight Lifting:

Weight Running:

Dummy Fighting:

Sparing:

Meditating:

Laura smiled and walked in front of the desk in front of the board. She focused on the spot in front of her. It was a coffee stain. It was distinct and her surroudings were silent, which maade focusing simple. She then closed her eyes and formed the hand signs. She felt wisps of air fly past her. She opened her eyes to a clone. She couldn't help but smile at her clone. It was fantastic. She did a great job. Now she had to make a substitution

I've learned to lose,
I've learned to win,
I turn my face against the wind

Laura streched out a little. She needed a break, but she needed to learn persistance. She continued to stretch and crack her neck. She had to continue. She sighed as she turned to the board. Henge no Jutsu. Transforming into something. Alright. Easy enough. Laura turned to one of the dummies. "I guess I'm going to dumb down a little, pun intended." So she had to keep going. Alright. She faced the dummy with a determined look. This was just like all other jutsu she has ever learned. You just had to focus and concentrate. Easy. Simple.

Laura cleared her mind of all thoughts. It went blank. Empty. She then pictured the dummy. She revolved her thoughts on the dummy. Nothing but the dummy. Everything else was white. Blank. The dummy swayed a little in her thoughts, and she wielded the hand signs. POOF!~

The same air wisped around the room and spun around Laura. She was nothing but a dummy. She looked identical to the one in front of her. There was no difference whatsoever. She grinned, but no one could tell. She enjoyed her four minutes of fame and undid the jutsu. She stretched out her back, which had a kink in it. This jutsu was definently not too smooth. On her, at least. She celebrated her victory mentally and did a short victory dance.

Her victory was short-lived, though. She realized she still had to learn lots more. Plus extra training. She needed to learn the art of substitution. Fun.

I will move fast,
I will move slow,
Take me where I have to go

Laura eyed her lunch wantingly. As much as she wanted those rice balls and dango, she had to train a little longer first. She was learning discipline very well. Likewise persistance. Not so much on hunger. She was far from mastering how to surpress so. She inched closer and closer to her lunch until she was a hair away. Then, in one swift movement, a rice ball was lifted up from the box and in her hand. Laura was able to get in one full bite before the lunch box top even opened fully. She quickly took bite after bite. The ball was gone before the lunch box top began to close. Laura put her hand to her mouth in surprise, but she was completely satisfied with both the food and her speed.

Laura turned to the board. She had lots of space. She eyed the pencil on the desk. It was cool looking. It was a bright blue. Very untraditional. But cool. Cool indeed. She couldn't help but grin. The teacher must like trying to stand out. Or maybe he was epic. Or awesome. Or apic. Or esome. Something like that. She could think of a cool-ish word later. Right now she had to train.

She focused on both the pencil and herself. Her inner chakra, focus, and thoughts. She breathed in and out deeply as everything went still and blank around her. A familar wisp of air came at her. She had made a clone. She then formed the correct hand signs and frowned. Nothing changed. She was about to pout and cross her arms when her clone pushed her on the shoulder gently. Laura opened her eyes to see the clone. A pencil was left. She grinned. Widely. Joyously. Half down, another half to go. Great.

The warning signs were appearing. The bored sigh, the eyes roaming the room seeking something to keep their attention but not a thing word keep them still for more than a few sections. Then the fingers started the annoying drumming of fingers on the desk trying to find the best beat to turn into music. But it was soft so the students wouldn’t hear it only a trained professional would a.k.a. the teacher.

“Hikage!” turning around the teacher glared at the student that would always make him look like a bully. “Why are you drumming your fingers on the desk?”

The reply was giving in a voice that carried as if the boredom the owner was experiencing were painful. “I’m bored sensei, Why are we covering such mundane things when we could be learning to become legends? After all its not like all the greats of the world would spend months here. I mean come on there has to be self study or something like it here right? Plus I want to learn seals I mean come on the fourth Hokage of Leaf was a master at such a young age surely that’s grounds to begin such learning within our training here at the academy, right?”

The teacher sighed, when were Hikage became bored this always happened he would begin arguing with the instructor. Granted it wasn’t always sealing but he would Argue something one of the successful ninja of the world had developed into something that should at least have the beginning steps of such classes in the academy.

“Hikage we’ve been over this already, three times even this week. You are a student and there fore have no say over the learning that is covered inside of the academy, you must have a strong foundation before you begin build higher skills…even if some of the people you’ve read about much less only heard rumors about haven‘t done such a thing. You will as a student of this academy, or are you going back on that bet you made last semester?” The teacher grinned as he saw Hikage cringe from the offer about going back on his bet, seeing as they bet that Hikage had to go streaking through one of the girls sauna, being a young man he didn’t think to make it dangerous for the inductor he was making the bet with. Now he had to stay in the academy and not test out early.

“Ha sensei I only have to be able to test out of every subject in the academy to leave I don’t have to stay until graduation.” It was true Hikage may have been reckless with what would happen if he got out of the bet but he made sure he could at least leave not having to wait for a class to graduate.

“Be that as it may Hikage you still need this class to complete your tests so sit down and read your books if nothing else and if you can’t read them memorize them then!”

I've learned to lose,
I've learned to win,
I turn my face against the wind

Laura eyed her arms curiously. She had used a bit of chakra lately, but she wasn't feeling any different. She shrugged it off and looked at the next jutsu on her list:

[T] Tree Climbing: 600 Skill Points The Tree Climbing technique serves a dual purpose. The first is that it helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. The second is that it teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise.

It wasn't ninjutsu, but rather taijutsu. She did not know about taijutsu a lot. She didn't want to do it in here. She could use the wall, but it wasn't the same. She walked out of the door, carrying her lunch in hand. Then, to humour herself, she put a little bit of chakra to her feet to increase her speed. She darted out of the academy in a flash and grass, leaves, and twigs swirled in the wind, limp, due to her incredible speed that caused a disturbance in the peaceful, still air. She could feel herself laughing a little as she passed by trees in a blur. Then, she saw it. Sunlight lit up the patch of clearing with a circle of trees bordering it off from the river in front of her, thirty feet away. Since the clearing was in front of her, she got to the tree nearest the river. She grinned as she studied all of it. It looked nice.

She focused chakra to her feet. The same amount she used to increase her speed. She closed her eyes as she stepped onto the tree and started running up it. She couldn't stand to stop or stand or walk. She could fall! Laura kept kicking herself up, but she stopped feeling the wind's resistance on her face. Now she felt- she was falling! She was falling to the river. She was falling feet first, her bottom was level with her (amazing) calves. She waited as she measured the height of the tree, her fall speed, and the river height. She opened her eyes when she was wet when she measured she would be. She looked down and the river was right there. But she was standing on it. She felt herself laughing. She was training for one jutsu, but completed the other.

Laura wiped her forehead, feeling a little sad that she didn't have the ninja band yet. Yet. It was a key word. Yet. A determined look striked Laura's face as she cracked her knuckles and walked out of the river. She faced the tree again, both arms bent and outward like she was getting ready for a fight, but her fists were unclenched. She felt herself grow stronger with excitement. She couldn't help the chill of fear growing inside of her. She couldn't be frozen though. It couldn't happen. She felt too happy.

Laura grew surprised as time seemed to slow and leaves started to slow their decend. Grass quit swaying. She could hear her chilled breath as she put her foot on the tree and took her first step. Chakra channeled through her body evenly, but patches in her foot were focused. Laura grew wide-eyed as she defied gravity and contined her ascend up the base of the tree. Laura gasped as she saw the spiky branches ahead. She jumped up the tree onto a branch and continued her ascend smoothly. When there was an opening or clearing on the base of the tree, she took it, only to jump onto another branch. Laura felt the sweet, thin air. She was at the top of the tree. She could see the academy East of her, Mountains North, the river West, and behind her....her past.

Laura put her hands on her hips, feeling accomplished. She jumped, tree to tree, until she was clear out of the forest. She slid down the tree and then slowly walked to the academy. She felt some freedom. She could do extra training, but she didn't have to. She could've quit after she learned the first jutsu. But she was going to be one of the few who learned everything the academy had to teach. Then she would return to her epic village and go ahead and learn clan jutsu. Then she might go to Konoha. Her choices were quite endless, it seemed. She quit thinking and deciding to keep doing. She opened the academy door and sat down to enjoy her lunch.

The dango was so, so sweet. It was good. Great, even. Fantastic. Wonderful. Tasty. Her village had great dango, hands down. She continued to nibble on her lunch until it was nothing. She had some water and tea there. She put the flavor bag in the thermostat as she drank some of her water. It was so great. The water was fresh from her village. Waterfall water. Refreshing.

Laura started sparing with the dummies. She started with the weights and dummy fighting. She meditated, did some shuriken practice, and she concentrated and molded chakra.

User ImageIts was near the end of term and with a determined stride to his step Hikage was making his way to the academy's library he wanted to check out the various scrolls for training available to academy students.

Stepping into the building after looking up and the moon Hikage smiled at the Librarian that was sitting at the front desk. 'Okay just be a charmer and not look like a fool and she'll help out and in no time I'll be set to get out of the academy.' Nodding his head he stepped forward and proceeded to trip on his own foot. A sound of surprise shot from his mouth "Gah!" Bracing for the fall he managed to prevent his knees from bruising on the wooden floor.

Looking up he saw a stern look on the Librarian's face. 'Great now she thinks that I enjoy making noise.' Getting back up he dusted off his hands and making sure not to trip this time walked over to the the lady behind the desk and spoke with her.

"Excuse me miss. But where are the techniques provided for students?" Hikage asked in an apologetic tone, after all the glare she was giving him was a little intimidating. "They are over there young man. I expect that shout you just gave will also be the last loud noise you make while inside my building is that understood?" Giving her nod, she proceeded to point out the various places academy teaching scrolls could be found. Giving his thanks and a smile he proceeded to the taijutsu area to grab the various things needed from there.

Here he grabbed the scrolls on tree climbing, water walking, shuriken/ kunai target practice, weight lifting, weight running, dummy fighting and, sparing. 'Man the academy has a lot on file for Taijutsu. I wonder how much will be available in the Ninjutsu area?'

Walking over to the ninjutsu section of the library he proceeded to collect the various items there he needed as well. Henge, bushin, substitution, chakra molding, leaf concentration and, meditating were thrown on the pile of taijutsu scroll he already collected.

"Well that looks to be everything I need so far." Nodding to himself Hikage walked back tot he Librarian and smiled at her. "Excuse me but might I be able to check these out for a week or so?" Setting the scrolls down so she could read them all as he lined them up. After reading the title of each scroll she nodded and wrote down Hikage's ID number and the scrolls. "See to it that those scrolls are returned in the same condition they are in now young man."

Giving her a nod and picking up the scrolls he placed them in his bag with the rest of his camping gear and walked to one of the many training areas that were provided for academy students.

He walked around in the moonlight searching for a good campsite. After locating one under a large shading tree he proceeded to pull out his tent and set it up. Humming along with his work with a nameless tune he finished his tent quickly. He then put his tent items inside like his sleeping bag and storage scroll with all his clothes. Taking a shovel he dug a fire pit and went around the camp site to collect medium sized stones to place around it. Once that was done he pulled a fishing net out of his bag and grabbed the scroll on Water Walking.

"Now where can I find a stream with fish around here?" Following his ears Hikage quickly located stream with which he could catch his dinner and maybe breakfast depending on how much his luck held out. Setting his fishing net up took some time but once it was running across most of the stream to catch fish he opened the scroll on water walking.

Water Walking: A variation on the Tree Climbing Technique, Water Walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.

After studying it for about five minutes Hikage started to work on getting it down. He made progress by the time his net had caught enough fish for him to cook for dinner and for breakfast. walking back carrying his net of fish and his scroll he Hummed again and set about cleaning and rising the fish with his canteen of water. once they were cooking on the fire he walked back to the stream he was at before and filled his canteen. "Come on Hikage you almost got this." It had been about thirty minutes and he had maybe a little longer before his fish started to burn that were cooking on the fire. Three minutes later He jumped up in the air and shouted his happiness before splashing into the thigh high water of the stream.

Cursing at himself at not paining attention and wondering how someone like the great Roy Mustang would mock him for doing such a thing. thinking of the fish he was having for dinner he quickly began to run toward his campsite.

Only two of his fish had been burnt so he began to munch on dinner. Finishing dinner Hikage opened the scroll on weight lifting and running. "Okay so now I need to get some weights on me." Putting on weights was easier said than done. Put too many on and your not really training just hurting yourself. Checking the scroll again for each he adjusted to his height and weight and began to run track exercises the scroll on running was talking about.

He kept running until he was exhausted and then he put out his fire for the night and went into his tent to sleep.

User ImageIt was a loud obnoxious bird that was screaming at what seemed to be the top of its lungs and of course it was on the lowest branch on. Waking up in shock cause of his dream was interrupted Hikage swung into the air with a Kunai he kept near him at all times. "What? Huh? Where is that b*****d?" the dream was as if it was from the future Hikage was standing on a battlefield and it was so odd he was fighting and he was covered in seals of one type or another. He threw scrolls that either in the air or once they hit something they would shoot out jutsu of such interesting forms. It was a missing ninja that he was fighting by the looks of it. 'Such a strange dream it felt real. I mean the seals were the as if they were something that were in my blood. I'll need to see if there are any dead clans I can find that I might be a part of.' With a yawn he unzipped his tent and crawled out.

The sun was about an hour over the horizon. Nodding to himself Hikage stretched out and worked his sore muscles from the night before. 'I hope I don't pass out from working all these muscle groups the whole week I want to be able to get back to Alchemy as soon as I can to finish my learning here.' Picking up his shuriken and kunai he grabbed the scroll about target practice for them and began to work on it.

With each throw he was improving but the progress was slow so, after an hour stopped and decide breakfast was in order. Sitting at his camp fireplace he munched on fish while reading from the shuriken/kunai throwing scroll. Once he was finished eating his meal he went back to working on his target practicing. after another hour of working on it he had improved enough he felt he would pass that portion of the exam he would be taking and set the scroll aside.

having made progress on his water walking the previous night he set about working on tree climbing now. Finding a good tree he went about the training ground and located a straight acorn tree. Nodding and pulling out a kunai to work with and began running up the tree. Do to his work with water walking last night he had the technique down by lunch and nodding set the scroll aside as well.

During lunch Hikage pondered how he could be a great ninja himself. Not wishing to be in others shadows for his whole life. The dream came back to him and nodding Hikage set one of his goals to be find out about his ancestry. Cleaning up his meal quickly after ward Hikage began to hum along his his way back to the river with his canteen and fishing net to get more food and to finish the needed work on water walking.

Setting up his fishing net Hikage walked down stream and began to carefully walk across the stream mindful that to master this technique he needed to beable to cross the stream. By the time his netting was full again he had a smile on his face for having completed the exercise. "Sweet now I just need to work on the three basic ninjutsu and I'll be able to get out of here."

Grabbing up his fish with the netting he ran back to his camp site and began to clean the his fish. Once they were gutted and deboned Hikage set them up to cook for dinner and began to read the scroll on henge no jutsu.

Henge no Jutsu: This technique allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.

Once dinner was done cooking he ate and began to work jutsu with in a half hour Hikage poofed and his teacher was standing. "Now if its so easy to look like this why hasn't anyone ever thought to take over a place with just a henge?" Course it could be that it was easy to tell when someone had a Henge on.

Shrugging it off he went and set that jutsu to the side and then picked up the scroll on the bushin.

Bushin no Jutsu: 300 Skill Points This technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the clone gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

Working quickly he was able to make a single bushin exclaiming his joy of being another step out of the bet with his teacher. "Yes almost ready for the exams." Doing an immature little dance he skipped about the secluded training area.

Grabbing the last jutsu scroll Hikage opened it hoping to be able to finish the jutsus tonight so that the rest of his time he could invest in training and gaining a grounding in the working of his chakra.

Art of Substitution: This is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

His first attempt had succeed... sorta he actually ended up falling about ten feet for substituting himself for something that was on one of the tree trunks and falling to the ground for it. The next hour he was able to substitute himself for just about anything he wanted to switch out for himself. Exhausted from working so hard on jutsu practice he promised he would work the rest of the week on his training so as to be set for the time needed to complete the academy early.

She had been waiting for class tos tart for the longest. She had traveled all the way from the south to be among the greatest of ninjas.. but apparently.. she was mistaken. She made the two little orbs float around here with a sigh focusing on her lesson and making hte orbs to keep floating was the problem. She was using so much of her energy focusing that she was missing the lesson about how to make clones.. and stupid little tricks. She looked and somebody sat down next to her. Her eyes cut as she looked towards the female and let out a low growl.

"...who are you?"

She said with a slight frown. This girl was different.. different in the way that she liked. Maybe they could be friends.. or she could absorb her into one of her floating orbs.. either way was fun for her..
