Annabeth looked to Marcus with a smirk "I figured as much. Like, seriously, you should just ask Kai out, even his sister knows you have a crush on him"
Xiaeriene nodded "If he wants to play this game of life and death, then so be it. Better him than a heartless coward like you" She turned to her friends, sending them an expression that gave them the message to ignore him "So, Elise, how have you and Vain been?"

"Oh your insults hurt so much. Well. The planetary scans of Mars have finished. An entire civilization cloaked by a stealth field generator. That means I must go. Go and kill them all." Am'lock said sarcastically as his apparition dissipated.

Marcus blushed a dark shade of purple, then shook his head irritably "W, What are you talking about? I don't have a crush on Kai! You're silly!" He turned away from her, still feeling flushed.
Ashley smiled "Well, you decided to take the course, so you must have had some level of confidence in your literary comprehension skills. Besides, the prerequisites for this course were tough, if you managed to pass them, then you shouldn't worry. I have faith in you"
Mizaki stood up as Shizue entered the gym. He still felt somewhat hazy, as he had woken up in the nurse's office last period. But, he had seen how she ran the class, and didn't feel like getting into trouble
Elliott stood admiring his work on Rogue. "Well, you have been fully augmented and equipped. No complications, no rejections, everything has gone according to plan. How do you feel?"

Aya and Kai had been keeping to themselves in their Art and Design class. Aya was listening attentively as the teacher gave a lecture on Victorian era art, while Kai on the other hand was about to pass out.

"I don't need faith from other people. I just want to know what we're reading. Hopefully they wont be boring." Okako said. After the professor had handed out the syllabus Okako was sort of relieved. They would be reading the Nihon Kojiki, Genji no Monogatari, and the Book of Five Rings from Japan. The Samguk Yusa and The Dream of Nine Clouds from Korea. The Bambo Annals, The Art of War, and the Dream of the Red Chamber from China. Each would have a quiz and essay following the finishing of the book.
Shizue conducted class like she had the rest of the day.
Am'lock awoke from his outer body projection and went to report to Kyosuke. The number of ships in Mars' orbit had increased by nine. "My Lord, it seems there is an entire civilization on this planet. What is your plan for it?" "We'll obviously crush it. It will be our warm up for Earth. However we will wait for more of the fleet to arrive as they have been all day. When 25% of our ships arrive we will invade and destroy them. What are we at now?" "We have ten ships in total in orbit now so about 9%."

Hildegarde entered the strategy room with Tengu. She held an ashen expression as she turned to Satsujin "So it has already begun. What are our options?"
Guraha held the dodgeball match as usual. He figured the outcome, as the last two standing ended up being his nephew and Annabeth. After the class ended, he headed to the front of the school, waiting for Okako and Mizaki.
Annabeth turned to Marcus as they left the gym "That was, like, totally crazy, I mean, come on! As if P.E. wasn't bad enough! Let's go find Aya and Kai"

"Immediate bombardment and try to obliterate them before they can attack or we attack as they're landing and kill them in their LZs. I have no record of their ships and weapons on board them. So we are at a disadvantage as far as information is concerned. We also don't know the capabilities of their forces. As far as I'm concerned the only truly strategically appropriate course of action is to bombard them while landing their forces. If they care about their troops they wont be able to return fire and we can possibly catch them off guard."
"And if they don't care?"
"Then we attack their LZs while exchanging orbital fire. We aren't a fortress world. We don't have the capabilities to survive a sustained siege."

Hildegarde nodded "I see Kyosuke leaves nothing to chance, no doubt they are looking for our complete annihilation. This could be a ploy to lure us into making the first strike. As such, I will stick with your decision to attack them while landing. What's the status of our Creation Cannons?"

"I don't even know why you all developed them. They are too dangerous to fire. The creation of an infinite amount of energy could cause a catastrophic collapse in the confined dimensions of a cannon. It would become far too dense collapse in and begin feeding the entire planet into not just one black hole but for every single cannon we have. I highly recommend we don't use them or even contemplate using them. We would turn this sector into a gravitational danger zone. It would become entirely uninhabitable. Besides, the electromagnetic rails used to fire out the energy are still under research. The ones we have now aren't powerful enough to hold back the energy long enough to fire it without a catastrophic meltdown of the cannon where it blows up 40% of the surface of the planet."

Elliott walked into the chamber and sat down. "Actually, we can reach a creation output reading of up to 2.6 before such factors become a serious risk. We were able to do so with the data we have from the coaxial cannons of Sal Torasia in Fortis. According to the simulations and projections, our cannons will be roughly 8.3% more effective than the coaxial cannons. However, with the current resources available, I'm afraid the charging time will be slightly over 6 hours, and the cooldown time afterward will be roughly 14 hours." He placed the stack of papers he was holding onto the table "This has all of the information on the cannons, as well." He turned to Hildegarde "I would advise against using our creation cannons unless we have no other possible options left. Though low, the risk factor is roughly 11.6%, much higher than anything else currently under our control"
Ashley turned to Okako as they left the classroom "Well, that proved to be quite heartening. It is nice to see some good quality literature being used in the curriculum." He smiled "My sister and her jock strap are having some sort of get together or something tonight. I don't mean to be forward, but might you grace me with your company tonight? It would be nice to enjoy the company of someone with a brain"
Marcus nodded "Yeah alright." He spotted Aya and Kai as they left campus, and waved to them "Hey you guys, first day was harsh, huh?"
Mizaki walked to the entrance of the school, and approached Guraha "Mister Nesh, you still taking me for candy? Mum said she'll be there after school, 'said she needs to talk to you about something"

"And what if the generators are hit? What if the firing mechanisms are damaged in a pre-invasion orbital bombardment? We should safeguard against any possible malfunctions that could come to pass. With a charge time of six hours they would notice the tremendous build up of energy in certain locations, blow them up, and have their job completed that much easier. There's too much uncertainty to use such weapons and with such a long charge time, they'd be ineffective. We'd get one volley and be left to fight them tooth and nail for every inch of this planet. If they took over the fire control rooms, we'd be screwed. If they hit them while charging, we'd be screwed. I would say instead of relying on something so dangerous that we instead rely on our more conventional weapons. We have enough rail guns to blow away one of our own satellites. They require less energy to fire, have a 30 second charge up time and a four minute rail replacement time. They're not as flashy, but they have far fewer consequences if they're damaged or if their generators are nuclear plants are destroyed."
"I... kind of have a date with Shi- I have plans tonight..." She said corrected herself. "Sorry." She excused herself quickly and walked to the meeting place with Guraha and Mizaki. That was close... I can't let that slip. Hope he doesn't decide to follow me.

Hildegarde nodded "She's right, we can't afford to take any risks. Satsujin, I leave preparations in your hands. Elliott, the Camaraderie are meeting on Earth, I would have you meet with them in my stead. I must convene with my subordinates, to take precautionary actions regarding the civilians, among other things." She stood up and walked to the door, then stopped "One thing is certain. I will not simply sit back and allow the denizens of Chaos to sabotage the work my Mistress spent millenia completing." She headed off down the corridor, and entered her chamber. She sent a message to the Chiefs of Civilian Affairs, then left her chamber and headed tot he elevator to meet with them. She sighed as she entered the elevator

"Understood." She stood and left the room and went to the Defense Ministry. After arriving she took command she called the defense council into session. "As of today we have a fleet building up in high orbit. It will prove to be hostile. As such we need to fortify every city. Every town. Every single inch of land on this planet. As of now all orbital defense lasers and rail guns are going to be activated and kept on alert." What of the Creation Cannons? They are to remain offline and the Creation Energy production equipment is to be removed for the cannons and generators and hid in the deepest and darkest bunker we have. They're too dangerous and would prove ineffective for our purpose and they're too dangerous to allow to fall into enemy hands. All man power is to be spent fortifying and training our military. We are going to mobilize the full force of our military and industrial complexes. We may have to conscript civilians into service. Every able bodied man and woman will be called up immediately and taught the basic essentials of combat and deployed until the day arrives that either they move on or invade. That will be spread in the media. As such we'll shift all industry and agricultural assets to military production specification. I want a surplus of food, ammunition, armor and weapons to last every single person on this planet half a Earth year. All is to be done immediately. This may seem crushing but it is essential to our survival as a civilization. We will soon be pushed to the threshold of extinction. Our readiness and willingness to fight against all odds and to the last man is all that will keep us on the ledge survival or push us over and destroy us. Dismissed."

Hildegarde had spent the last fifteen minutes briefing the Board of Civilian Affairs on the issues at hand. "....and as such, the civilian way of life must be compromised. Our continued existence relies on how well we can all cooperate in preparing and readying the Nation for this crisis. Poor management of procedure and information will only lead to panic, and that would prove fatal to the Nation. You will follow any and all orders of the Defense Ministry, and all casual civilian affairs are suspended as of now. I expect your full cooperation, that is all" She stood up as the board members left the audience chamber. She left the room, heading off to continue preparations
