[Mudnose winced slighly as Rainpaw's yowl rang throughout the Clearing. A low growl from her, and she casted an accusing glance at him. Her eyes rested on her new apprentice, smiling a somewhat feigned smile. She nodded. "Come with me and we'll get you your nest ready. You have a big day tomorrow," she meowed, no emotion showing in her gaze.
She quickly padded to the medicine cat den, looking in. She nodded to Hauntedheart. "Just grabbing moss for the new apprentices' nests," she meowed, smling slightly to the she-cat. Her smile was obviously fake. In all honesty, she didn't like the medicine cat. She was cruel and grumpy, not a cat that anyone would want to be around. Except for Cinderwing. Mudnose snickered, grabbing enough moss for maybe half of a cat. Without another word, she padded out of the strongly scented den, trotting to the apprentice den. She set the wads of moss down on the ground. Looking at her new apprentice, she sighed. "Okay, so what we're going to do is make your nest since there isn't enough for everyone in here. After all, you don't want to use a previously used nest," she meowed.
The pretty siamese looked down at her paws for a moment. Her eyes focused on a spot on her paw. It was dark red and seemed wet. A look of puzzlement crossed her face. Was she bleeding?
Mudnose picked up her paw, looking at the bottom of it. Dirt was clumped together on the bottom of her pad with a thick, viscous liquid that one could only guess was blood. She sighed. How long had she been bleeding? She brought her paw up to eye-level with herself, quickly cleaning it off. Cleaning off the dirt exposed a thorn; as big one. She stared at it for a moment, her eyes shooting a viscious glare at the thing. "When'd that yet there?" she asked out loud. With one fluid movement, she yanked it out, not wincing a bit. She didn't feel it come out, of course. She would have to get it checked out though. She wouldn't ever be able to tell if infection was getting to it.
Mudnose stared at Envypaw for a moment. "We'll have to see if there's thorns in your bedding, but you'll have to do that. I won't be able to tell," she meowed briskly. [I stopped and turned around, a grin creeping it's way on to my muzzle. I took a step closer to Mudnose, my tail twitching happily]
"Thanks, you too. Maybe we could..Uh..train together sometime, or something..y'know, if you want to.."
[I winced slightly, flattening my ears a bit. I just looked like a fool. Great. As I awaited her reply, I surveyed the camp, spotting Brokensoul talking quite forcefully to his new apprentice. What was Lavenderstar thinking giving him an apprentice? He could snap at anytime! I narrowed my eyes, feeling my claws come out and sink into the frozen earth]

[I narrowed my eyes at Brokensoul, baring my teeth as I growled at him quietly. I stood up, flexing my claws]
"It is my duty to protect my Clan, and right now, you're a threat, so I must protect my Clanmates from you. So watch it, Shadow. Because I know what you're capable of, and you don't scare me. And watch what you're saying to Pinepaw. You wouldn't want to lose your apprentice, now would you?"

 The dark thought of ones mind... ☾Shadow☾ +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ [Shadow let out a sly grin.] "It depends if Pinepaw does what I say...if he fails I will kill him..." [Shadow murmured to Willowheart, making sure Pinepaw couldn't hear. He licked a paw, then let out an amused purr when he smelled the scent of blood. Shadow left Willowheart and padded to where that delicious smell was. He loomed over Envypaw and looked straight at Mudnose.] "I see you bleeding...Mudnose, I could take care of that for you..." [Without another word he rushed over to Mudnose, putting his tail on Mudnose to move her, closer to him. He let out a sly grin and knelt down to Mudnose's paw.] "You can' feel the pain...so don't try to scream, if that apprentice of your doesn't keep quiet...she will die under my claws..." [Shadow mewed under his breath. He licked Mudnose's paw once, then opened his jaws and began to suck away the blood.] +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ can change you...

[Mudnose stopped, her eyes wide as Brokensoul confronted her. When he bent down her paw, she hissed, her claws quietly unsheathing. She growled slightly. What was he doing?! With a snarl, she batted her other paw at Brokensoul face, planning to score her claws across the tom's face. She growled, trying to get the tom to let go of her paw.] "Let go you double-minded spawn of a badger!" [she yowled, her other paw a flurry of claws as she tried to scratch Brokensoul. Her jaws snapped at the tom's ear, locking on to one in an effort to get him to let go. It didn't hurt, but it made her mad. No, not mad. That was a horrendous understatement.
Suddenly the force was removed, and she heard a snarl; a familiar one. She felt somewhat relieved. Foxfur. She looked at Envypaw for a moment. The she-cat was in danger. She quickly pushed the new apprentice toward the nursery.] "Come on, before he gets away!" Silentkit
[Silentkit watched the ceremonies in the nursery and sighed. She had known that she wouldn't be made an apprentice, she had known it form day one, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. She hadn't even gotten 'paw' at the end of her name. It didn't seem fair. She watched, silently, as the apprentice and new warrior were congratulated before using her front legs to push herself up. No one, other then Guardianpaw and Puresun, knew she had learned to get around yet. Well they would be in for a surprise if they noticed her. Gathering her strength, Silentkit began to crawl out of the nursery, using her front legs to support her while her back legs and back half of her body dragged uselessly. She headed straight for her brother, moving around the other cats. She stopped in front of Guardianpaw and her front legs shook slightly from holding her entire upper body up but Silentkit refused to give in and fall down. She clenched her jaw slightly but still stood halfway up. She wasn't going to fall down, she wnated to show everyone whats he could do, even if she was crippled.] "Congradulations, Guardianpaw, I'm sure you're going to be the best warrior in NightClan one day," [she mewed, trying to sound happy for her brother but sadness hung in her voice.]

He unsheathed his claws and let out a hiss of annoyance when Foxfur butted in.] Just infront of my drink! [Shadow ran out of the appretice's den, not wanting to get in a fight with so many witnesses around.][Brokensoul woke up from his sleep, only to find himself in that same darkness.] Aww man...I let my guard down...I told you Foxfur.... [Brokensoul could hear his words, his eyes widened when he saw what was going on. He could taste the blood on his lips. He began coughing, he was sick of this cursed red water! Brokensoul stopped Shadow in his tracks and yowled.] I won't fall to you! You must stop this...or we will be out like rouges! [Shadow growled but refused to stop.] There are so many innocent lives to kill! I can't stop! [Brokensoul saw his chance, Shadow was distracted..pushing his way through he was able to take control. He had to go somewhere fast, away from them all! Brokensoul was frozen in confusion.] +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ ((Well Shadow has more resistance than Brokensoul and since Brokensoul constinitly lives in fear of Shadow it's easy for Shadow to over power him D smile ) can change you...

[I sighed. Back to my duties. Standing up, I fluffed out my coat and flicked my ears. Turning to Nightclaw, I nodded]
"Yes, you can come"
[I then turned to Brokensoul, narrowing my amber eyes. Shadow. I will be the one to bring you down. I swear to StarClan, even if it kills me. I slightly bared my teeth, but realized it was Brokensoul, not Shadow, and closed my mouth]
"Brokensoul. You're still bleeding. You need to heal. Go back to Hauntedheart's den. There's no way you're going to the Gathering, and besides, I don't think that'd go over too well with Shadow. Who knows what he'd do?"
[I flicked my tail in dismissal, and called out to Willowheart. She bounded up to me, grinning]
"Hey Foxfur!"
[I couldn't help but grin back]
"Hi Willowheart" lowering my voice, I took a step closer to the she-cat, so only she could hear me, "You know what's up with Brokensoul. I want you to stay here and look after him"
[She nodded and cast a glance at the tom before turning away and taking up her post by Hauntedheart's den. I then turned to Mudnose and gently touched my nose to hers]
"I'll be right back,"
[I padded over to Lavenderstar's den, calling out a greeting before padding in and overhearing Tigerfrost's last words. I narrowed my eyes and squared my shoulders]
"Shadow," I meowed to my leader, knowing she would understand.
[I sat down, curling my tail around my paws]
"The Gathering, yes. We should probably get going soon. I was thinking Nightclaw and Mudnose could go. Who else? Willowheart is going to stay behind and look after..you know"
[I stopped talking and flattened my ears. I sounded like I was bossing Lavenderstar around! I shuffled my paws, looking down at the ground]

"Congratulations." [Nightclaw mewed, licking the new apprentince behind the ear. But when his littermate, Silentkit congratulated him, she sounded sad... And so, he decided that he would try and comfort her, even if it was unlike him.] "Do not let this hold you back." [He said quietly, only loud enough for Silentkit to hear. He then padded away and into the Warrior's den.]

"There are some cats," she said softly, "have a connection that none other can compare with, whether or not they realize this. I believe you and Rainpaw share such a bond, and under your guidance alone he will become a warrior worth living. You see, none other than you can produce such an effect, and none other than Rainpaw can flourish with you. It is my duty as a leader to recognize these patterns and match apprentices with warriors as best I can, though sometimes it is hard if the only available warriors don't seem to match any of the ready kits. However, I believe all the new apprentices are well matched, whether or not they nor their mentors think that yet."
[Lavenderstar smiled and nodded, blinking at Starkcloud with respect. Only kindhearted cats could suffice as a foster mother for a kitten who has suffered. She respected the she-cat for having the capability to fill that position for Rainpaw.
Lavenderstar sighed. Too many orphans were being made. Her eyes trailed over to Silentkit and she walked up to the kitten, frowning slightly.]
"Silentkit," she began in a low voice, "I understand your disappointment. I was wondering if there are any...other talents you believe you possess? Because we are in need of a medecine cat apprentice after Honeypaw..."
[She trailed off, not mentioning what happened to him. (( We'll just say he disappeared and nobody heard from him since because rainbells has been seriously inactive. ))
"Or, there is...another option. If you ever feel like there is no place for you here, but you believe you have some sort of...ability or...talent....please let me know. There is...one more option."
[Lavenderstar's eyes darkened mysteriously, but then she smiled at the kitten, hoping she would understand.]

[Silentkit glanced up as Lavenderstar came over to Guardianpaw and her. She listened to the leader and glanced toward the medicine cat den. She had no interest on being stuck in there all day, it was just as bad as the elders den.] "No, I don't want to become a medicine cat! I wanted to become a warrior, like my father!" [she mewed firmly, and thought about Lavenderstar's second question. Something special about her? Right like StarClan would give her some special ability. Although, she had see that dream about Guardianpaw, something that felt too real to be a dream, and that other dream about her when she was older. She wondered if that was what Lavenderstar meant.] "Well, I had this dream about Guardianpaw being attacked by this really big cat. He was all bloody and stuff and the cat was going to kill him. It felt almost real. Then another about myself when I was older and I was all alone while the other apprenitces were playing," she mewed.

But Guardianpaw seems fine...though there was that one day he returned with patches of his fur missing. However, he wasn't bloody. Maybe they will come true in the future...?
Lavenderstar thought silently to herself, her tail slowly swishing. She finally nodded, her eyes returning to the young kitten.]
"Well," she said, "Whatever those are, they do seem to be of importance. If you continue to have dreams, let me know."
Lavenderstar hesitated, then added, "Also, whenever you feel as if you need guidance...go near any body of water and make a wish."
[She smiled, nodded, then left the den, swishing her tail around nonchalantly as if nothing had happened. She stretched out, reaching her forepaws forward and unsheathing her claws as she stretched out with a yawn.]
