"Amen to that..." John murmured to Dr. Saronas comment on fate, forgoing the tiny cup to grasp the jug in his hand like it was a mug, sipping these water like it was precious necter.

He listened to the two women bicker at each other quietly, leaning back on his pillow and closing his tired eyes. Fate... the woman was lucky he didn't take her seriously. If she truly was fate, if she could prove it, John was certain that he would kill her. Even in his state, he would strangle the life out of her blind perky a** with his IV tubes if he could move quick enough. Because then she was the one that killed Emillie, and that was unforgivable...

Umforgivable.

He sighed. When would he move on? It had been so long...

"Mr. Tomorrow, are you aware that you have a bullet lodged in your brain?" Grace asked as she picked up his chart from the foot of the bed, taking out the X-Ray film that she wanted and clipping it to the light board beside the bed.

"I think it might be what is causing your metaphysical powers to short out, so to speak."

Andi sat quiet for the moment on the edge of the bed, a slight smirk on her lips.

"...What?" John breathed, his eyes wide as the film was revealed. He was no doctor, and definately not a professional, but even he could see the bright lump at the back of his skull in the shape if a bullet.

He lifted his hand slowly to feel the back of his head. The scar say, with many others, beneath his thick, lanky hair, invisible to the naked eye.

"That's..." He began, before stopping himself. Nothing was impossible. He knew that. How was he still alive?

"I would like to surgically remove it... and then I can heal all the damage it has done to your synapses!" She popped the film of his chest cavity onto the board beside his head shot.

"I don't think I can remove any of this however... it is too well tied into your system."

It was a long while after Vargus had dropped her off in Latent at the muse's request. This was the place that Tilly had started her adventure with Ryugi almost three years ago. Albeit, it was in the Heaven or Hell's Crimson Hawk. But for now, Tilly was at the pier, sitting at the edge quietly with her legs dangling off.
The ocean soothed her, the sounds of the seagulls and the passerby's made her feel isolated, but not alone. Almost nostalgic. In her hand was small bag of candies she had purchased, to ease her nerves. Her eyes still swollen from earlier. Other bags sat at her side, rustling a bit with whatever breeze swept the lapping waters.
Slipping a fruity candy past her lips, she sighed out and let her shoulders droop. Tilly looked tired, but she was calm now. A serene expression graced her face as she simply stared out at the ships, and past the horizon. A deep breath.

She began to sing.

"Its a part of me now." John muttered absently. "I'd prefer it left in."

He looked up. "The bullet, i mean...and the arm."

"Oh my bad... I thought you didn't want to kill any more innocent bystanders!" Andi said as she stood up again and slowly started pacing her way towards the door.

Grace scowled but staid quiet in hopes that her annoying companion would actually get through to the big man about how dangerous that bullet really was.

John's fist tightened up again. He tried to keep his cool. His voice was a measure of control as he spoke again.

"...As far as i'm aware, i havent been shot in the head since...that incident. Whichs means that its the only time its happened. I. Have. Control. Of. My. Powers."

"Hope your seeing-eye dog eats your cane, you blind bimbo b***h..." John growled under his breath, before looking to Dr. Sarona.

"...Look...I'm stressed out, i haven't eaten anything in three days and I got pretty drunk last night. I'm going to need a minute to process this..." He let out an irritated sigh, rubbing his eyes with his hand. "I...How bad could it get?"

The world felt lighter somehow. Not brighter, not as if the sun had been turned up, but more as if a large weight had been removed from his shoulders despite the gravity of the things in his brain. Each step seemed to send him to the moon and the whip-like snap of his neck seemed close to breaking it as he looked from side to side at the different activities the dock offered. Gone were the fancy duds and the gloves for this particular Elemental and in their place his own personal set of comfort clothes.

Damion had left not long after Tilly from the stadium claiming business of his own to attend to instead of watching the fight. And he had indeed done business, for was not a haircut a business expense in it's own right? His long deadlocks were gone now, his hair cut short all over except for a longer strip down the center of his skull in a short mohawk. The Barber had said the look was very in right now and he did rather enjoy the salty breeze that blew across his scalp.

What he did not enjoy however was that sad song drifting on the air and interrupting his peaceful reverie, any thoughs of earlier washed away on the pleasant tide of his brain activity. The song made him think and right now thinking was bad for the Hydra with his thoughts dark and muddled. For awhile he had tried to puzzle out exactly what had upset his new friend Tilly so badly, until it had become headache inducing, at which time he had resolved to do something else for abit. That siren song, sad and melancholy, brought that right back to him in small bits and darkened his bright day.

Finding the source of the voice was easy and yet action to stop it became difficult the closer he got until Damion was stopped in his tracks. The tanned humanoid just stood and stared at Tilly's back as she sang, his head cocked to the side, a quizzical expression on his face as he regarded her. Was she still sad? Upset? What was she feeling? Her scent was dominated by the smell of the ocean and left Damion with nothing to go off but his own intuition. But the inactivity was more troublesome than his lack of knowledge and he spoke up as her voice drifted off,

" Tilly?"

Damion would see Tilly's head raise a bit as she heard her name, her long opal hair spilling over her shoulder with the movement. Tilly recognized who it was almost instantly, making her turn her head, a faint warm smile present. It certainly betrayed the feeling she was giving off.

"Hello Damion~" Smiling now with teeth, she gestured meekly with her hand, noticing the stark contrast in his attire and his hair. "You look more comfortable than before, casual attire suits you well. Your haircut in nice too. Very handsome~"

With a giggle, she turned back to the sea as she dug in one of her bags, producing a few brightly colored candies. Looking back towards Damion, she opened her hand, offering the treats.

"Would you like to join me..? I'd love to have some company..."

Her eyes were tired from crying, but they started to show some of the old spark from earlier as they managed to look up into his. Tilly's heart was still heavy, and any sort of company would do wonders for her spirits.

Verani kept on going this time, closing the door softly behind her as she left the room.

"That would be me... unfortunately." Grace muttered a bit dejectedly. "I will have some lunch sent in to you, any allergies we need to worry over?" She pulled the films down and tucked them back into her folder

He held his hand out towards her, palm forward, and smiled in an unsure fashion, the look unsuited for his face.

" I'll decline the sweets but gladly join you."

This was not the response Damion had been expecting. Her face seemed at odds with everything and the smile sat badly with her puffy eyes and the revealing of teeth set him more on edges than he'd care to admit. Animals only showed teeth when they were about to attack or challenging you, after all. Despite that he stepped up next to her and sat down with his legs hanging free in the same fashion as her, taking amoment to fix his shorts. Closer up he could see the scent of her sadness around her in a hazy purple aura.

" Are you feeling.....better?"

That seemed safe enough a question for the wrong footed reptilian humanoid to ask. His inexperience made this situation rather difficult, his desire to see her smile at war with his confusion about what had made her cry in the first place. Idly his fingers traced the black snake tattoos that lined his arms, rising like tentacles from his wrist to elbow in a tribalistic pattern where his gauntlets had covered before. His discomfort was clear, as was the reasoning behind it he hoped.

Deftly, her hand dropped the sweets back into the bag, not even keeping one out for herself. She knew very well that he was uncomfortable, but it wasn't in intention. All her life, she had been expected to be polite. In any case, Tilly turned her attention back out to the ocean. Slowly, her smile faded to a more comfortable, melancholy size.

"In a very round about way. Yes, I'm feeling better.. If only a little." She looked up. "Everything will get better with time.. hmm?"
