[Lavenderstar stepped on top of the Shadowstone, sitting on the ebony slab of stone with an elegant posture, wrapping her delicate tail around her stark paws with a soft movement.
Her eyes swiftly surveyed her Clan, and she saw several warriors perk their ears in realization. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes to gain composure. It is time.]
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Shadowstone for a Clan meeting!" she yowled, her voice resonating through the murky campsite.
[Cats slowly trickled out of dens and shadows and appeared before her, their eyes gleaming in the moonlight. ((Yesit'snighttime.)) Lavenderstar shifted on her feet, then relaxed, feeling her tension flow into the stone and leave her with a serene sense of calm. She looked up to Silverpelt and saw the moon shining clearly in the sky, which was a void of dark, glittering stars. There was no cloud to be found. Smiling a little, she thought to herself, Thank you, StarClan, for lending me your strength.]
Blinking, she returned her attention to her Clan and began; "Warriors of NightClan, it has been a long time since our previous leader left us. We all know of the strange spirit that possessed him and drove him to do unspeakable things, and we do not know whether he is dead or alive. I know that I mourned for him, but for selfish reasons. Yes, Fathom was a friend of mine, but I was more overwhelmed with having to lead NightClan in his stead. I felt unfit to rule, unfit to lead such a beautiful Clan through these times of troubles and despair. I was overcome by fear and worry of rejection from StarClan, which is what I was given. When I traveled to the Moonpool, I was denied my lives. Hauntedheart promised to keep this a secret, but I was worried of the fate of my Clan, and if I could ever pick this Clan up off its feet without becoming officially Leader. However, StarClan told me to be patient and humble. And so I unwillingly obeyed.
Surprisingly, my friends, they summoned me back to the Moonpool in a dream. Upon arriving there, I recieved my nine lives. I do not know what caused them to force me to wait or why it was neccessary, but I can officially claim my rightful place as Leader of this strong-willed and wonerful Clan."
Chuckling a bit, she continued, "Obviously, I could not appoint apprentices to mentors, nor promote them to the rightful warriorship they deserved. In the eyes of StarClan, such ceremonies would be invalid. So much has been delayed. Now I can undoubtably say that I have the power vested in StarClan to do that which most of you have been waiting for for so long."
[The Clan cheered and swayed beneath her, the mass of cats rippling with excitement. Mothers quickly ushered their kits and cleaned them, and apprentices fluffed out their chests, feeling excitement race through them. Purepaw emerged from the medicine den, peeking out at her mother. She walked over to Richpaw, her brother, and they looked at each other in wonder and excitement. Lavenderstar smiled.]
"To begin with, let me call forth an apprentice who has long since passed his time to become a warrior. He has seen kittens become apprentices, and those same apprentices become warriors, and yet remains an apprentice himself. This delay is ghastly, and shall exist no longer. Treepaw, come forward."
[Treepaw stepped forward.]
"I, Lavenderstar, leader of NightClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in his turn. Treepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Treepaw replied, "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Treepaw, form this moment you will be known as Treespirit. StarClan honors your diligence and your endurance, for you have endured far longer than any warrior and live true as the worn trees that shield us from harshness. Your spirit can only be compared to such a temperate endurance. We welcome you as a full warrior of NightClan."
[Lavenderstar rested her muzzle on the top of the Treespirit's head and the new warrior licked her shoulder in respect. The rest of the Clan chanted Treespirit's new name.]
"Now, to appoint apprentices to their rightful mentors. Guardiankit, Rainkit, Envykit, Sunkit, Pinekit, and Marcy, please step forward. Poisonpetal, Starkcloud, Mudnose, Foxfur, Brokensoul, and Spiriteyes, please step forward."
[The cats successively approached, shoving the others away so that they all sat bulkily before Lavenderstar. Starkcloud had a shocked look on her face, and Rainkit wiggled excitedly.]
She continued facing the apprentices, "From this day forward, until they has earned their warrior names, these apprentices will be called Guardianpaw, Rainpaw, Envypaw, Sunpaw, Pinepaw, and Marblepaw ((I needed to...give Marcy a new name lol. I can edit it out if possible, sorry. D: ))."
Turning to the warriors, she continued, "Starkcloud, Foxfur, Brokensoul, Mudnose, Spiriteyes, and Poisonpetal, you are all ready for an apprentices. You will begin their training. Guardianpaw will be under Poisonpeta's guidance, and Rainpaw Starkcloud's, Envypaw Mudnose's, Sunpaw Foxfur's, Pinepaw Brokensoul's, and Marblepaw Spiriteyes's. You have shown responsibility and kindness. And you are all
deserving to be a mentor."
[There was some shuffling as the apprentices traveled to their respective mentors and touched noses. Guardianpaw wiggled with excitement.]
Looking up, Lavenderstar grinned and continued, "Now for the apprentices deserving to become warriors. Purepaw and Richpaw, please step forward. It pleases me to give my own children their warrior names."
[Purepaw and Richpaw stepped forward, side by side. Purepaw's eyes shimmered in joy and nervousness. She was trembling from nose to tail, but held her head high in proudness. Lavenderstar smiled at her and her brother lovingly.]
"I, Lavenderstar, leader of NightClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Purepaw and Richpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your lives?"
The pair of siblings smiled at their mother and responded at the same time, "I do."
Lavenderstar hesitated, her heart melting in joy, then continued in a softer voice, "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Purepaw, from this moment you will be known as Puresun. StarClan honors your kindness and your brilliant joy, and I hope you will continue to share your happiness with others. You are the sun of my world, and I hope you find true love someday, one that can match your own burning passion. Richpaw, from this moment you will be known as Richmoon. StarClan honors your calm and intellegence, and you shine as brightly and strongly as the moon. May you always keep a clear head and clear mind, and find true happiness in those around you. We welcome you both as full warriors of NightClan."
[Lavenderstar rested her muzzle on the top of both her children's heads and they licked her shoulder in respect. The rest of the Clan chant their new names. Puresun puffed out her chest, her eyes shimmering with joy and love in the moonlight.]
Smiling out at her Clan, Lavenderstar said, "I pray NightClan will prove itself to be the best of the Clans, for it is already the strongest! Let us prosper together through times of hardship as best we can! You are all wonderful warriors and I am proud to be your humble leader. Sleep well, my fellow warriors, for we have many troubles to guard against!"
[With that, she ended the ceremony and stepped down from the Shadowstone. Puresun dashed up and danced around her mother excitedly, showering her in purrs and affectionate rubs, ranting on about how exciting it was. Lavenderstar smiled and licked her daughter's head, murmuring that she had other business to attend to. Purepaw's tail dropped, but she smiled and nodded, padding away.
Lavenderstar looked over at Foxfur quizzically, wondering what small situation had happened before.]
Her eyes swiftly surveyed her Clan, and she saw several warriors perk their ears in realization. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes to gain composure. It is time.]
