Grasping that bag, the nameless man would give a single nod towards the figure who gave it to him. Dropping it, now he could don his equipment. Before long he would wear the greaves, which are overlapping plates of blackened steel which cover his shin from the ankles up to his knees. Sabatons cover his ankles, and the top of his boots to the tip, these were formed of overlapping plates as well. Overlapping plates of steel formed the chausses, seeming to lack a cuisse underneath, this allows for better movement, while the armor plating alone is forged strong enough to deflect arrows. He would walk about in circles momentarily, feeling the intricate, fine craftsmanship of this somehow powerful armor. It was not everyday someone hands you a whole set of armor, most people could never afford a piece in their entire life.

((Main hall, Paradox is giveing a story to Katherine Jack and swordsman there. also the lady of lilly just walked in the main hall speaking with Dialh))
Dialh reached out then she knew what that was like at least. She was from a large family that had been taken by sickness. She did know what that was like. "Don't worry her majesty was in a situation that was quite the same when her father died. I myself have become the head of my household only 3 years ago. It will work itself out you will see. Us women are pretty strong like that."

John nodded. He was glad to not be accused of thievery. Not when he has just gotten here with Lady Rose. She'd never forgive him for tainting her name, though he had doubts it would go that far. He walked back over to stand behind Rose, watching closely.

John looked at the man who just came in. He was surprised, though he didn't want to speak up. Not yet.

Matachi nodded to the person "Nice to meet you." He spoke looking at her smiling bowing abit to her moving slightly away from Dialh "Make her feel at home." Matachi said turning abit to look back at her laughing before going over to Katherine to see what she was doing

This man who was just an inch or two taller than Paradox whom he currently stood near would now fit into that steel cuirass of overlapping design as well, this being the chest and back pieces together. Attached to the bottom of these pieces which belt together beneath his arms would be the fauld which rests over the top of his cuisse, and attached to the fauld is the tasset which covers the rest of his thighs as well. The aventail is a piece of armor, this one jagged, anyone touching it would find that their flesh would be sawed through in no time. The spaulders worn have saw-like blades as well down the center, while the rest is overlapping plates, these cover the shoulder and upper arms upon the sides and outside, leaving the inside bare allowing for movement. There were no gauntlets or armlets to be worn with this armor, and the helmet.. well, he did not take it out of the sack. This was artifact armor to be sure, and just wearing it..well, he felt as though he should never take it off, the design of the chestpiece set by the direction in which the plates of the armor are forged, pointing downward along the chest to the center of his lower abdomen, like a 'V' from the tips of his shoulders to that point. He remains silent, the air about him thickening. This equipment is enchanted.. but he cannot figure out what it does.

The general looked over at Matachi. "Just telling an old war story." He called over, momentarily breaking from the story about the mountain pass.

He continued on. he could tell it another time, but now that he had gotten it started. . . "The first indication that anything was wrong was the distant rumbling. We took no notice of it. Tremors always made their way through the region, but this wasn't any tremor. Nature has a funny way of working. It can be the most beautiful thing in the world, but when it wages war. . . The thirty or fourty people we were protecting continued on. They mumbled about how there seemed to be more tremors than usual, but they forgot to tell use. That would have saved quite a few lives that day. We made it to the top without any big incident. That was when all hell broke loose. You've heard of nature's fury? Well, this was Nature's fury a thousand times over. The peaks above us exploded with fire, ash, and everything in between. The roar blinded us, the shaking, made us deaf, and the sight of it turned our legs to jelly. Madeline was faster than i was. She began to urge our escortee's to run. She never quit a job half way, even if it would save her life. Never stop until you hit the bull's eye. That was her motto." Paradox took a breath and then continued on.

"I wasn't as tall as I was then, but I was still a big person. I saw the real danger before anybody else did. There was fire, yes. There was ash, yes, but those were too far away to actually get us here. What we had to worry about were the rocks. An avalanche was coming our way, and I didn't have the strength to stop such a will of nature. I had no hope. You see, I had already given up. Madeline wasn't so easily detered. Never Stop until you hit the bull's eye. While everybody was running for their lives, except me. I was just watching her. She calmly pulled out her bow and took out a single arrow. She pulled and fired the arrow into the incoming mass of rock. I knew she was crazy. She smiled, and fired another arrow. It dissapeared like the first into the boulders that could crush a man like a man stomps a bad bug under foot. This time she frowned. She moved closer to the avalanche. I had no choice. She was going to kill herself. I screamed into her ear. We have to Go NOW!!! She smiled back at me. That is how I will always remember her. Her eyes saying that she would do anything to finish what she started. It fit her motto so perfectly that it frightened me. I yelled at her that she was crazy, but I was the crazy one there. She knew exactly what she was doing." Paradox stopped for another breathe. He stopped when katherine told him to stop. Another night then.

A little girl in a frilly blue dress looked around a corner into the main hall. She was absolutely beaming. Her eyes instantly singled out Lady Song and John. From her almost hidden position, she managed a frantic wave to them, in greeting, but stayed out of sight all the same.

behind the little girl in the blue dress was her bodyguard, watching them with an expression that seemed to radiate hostility, and looked like he was daring the world to try and get past him to Serenity, the girl that was in front of him. The bodyguard actually just looked like he had a stick up his butt, but it was the thought that counted.
