"No. Aubrey told me when I arrived and got the first injection"

Cody was nearly done eating. There was only the chocolate cake slice left, an addiction Colche gotten him into

"I told you the last time I'm here since June. ANd I don't know how long it took for the first chage!"

He hatted having to repeat stuff over and over again. It was boring and annoying

“Aubery? Who is that?” he watched Cody finish his meal. Then started to eat his more, but the taste of the fish did not seem to satisfied his stomach, nether did the salad. He just did not feel hungry. But he had to force himself to eat so he would not get sick. “You know you should mind your manors to your elders, squirt.” Gallen had a distant sad look on his face. "why would they do this to a kid." he blurted out loud..."I am sorry, but your so young, why would some one take away your humanity, even to cure you." This place is a lie and we are all caught in it, he thought to himself. “Gallen soon got up leaving his tray. “My duplex is number 60, if you need to talk to some one I am cool with you coming by. Oh yhea could you throw away my trash?” Gall soon walked out of the cafeteria leaving Cody with both his own mess and Gallen’s

"One of the doctors"

Cody sat and kept eating his cake, trying hard to ignore Gallen's rambling. This guy definitly had a couple of loose screws inside his head
But being shoved with someone else's tray was something he couldn't ignore

"I'm not your servant!!!"

Fuming Cody finished his cake and put only his tray away. The nerve of that guy

[NEW RP]

The weeks went by and Amaya was still very much in a sulky mood. She had also been a little restless, though chalked that up to her feeling particularly down... then again, when wasn't she? The days had been filled with pacing her room and taking walks around the island, pondering her future. Though she hadn't gotten to the point of being suicidal yet - being way too scared to try something as extreme as that. So for now, she stuck to sulking.

She sat in the cafeteria, the air conditioning now turned down some since it was getting to be mid-October. Her birthday had been yesterday too. But like always she didn't tell anyone about it, nor did she celebrate it. All she did was go to her parents grave markers on the beach and paid her respects.

But for now, the 17-year-old Amaya sat at one of the tables and stared at the salad that sat in front of her along with the bowl of water for her to drink out of. Even though no tears left her eyes her breathing was labored and she was clearly upset despite her reptilian features. It was so many things piled onto her at once she couldn't help but be upset. Her parents death, her birthday, and Alec's obvious feelings for her... she just wanted to crawl up into a ball and cry - but couldn't.

She wasn't really hungry anymore.

It had been another long morning of woodwork, and Gaius had a bandaged thumb to mark his first attempt at wood carving. Hot and rather frustrated, the tall guy'd decided to take a break and seak some respite in the cooled cafeteria and grab a bite while he was at it.

He didn't bother to look for whoever else was there as he came in. After all, the only person he worried about was Zach, and he'd be easy to spot with his red scales. As it was, there only looked to be a... very large... lizard? Gaius slowed his walk across the caf floor, rubbernecking a bit at the back of the thing, then snapped out of it and hurried on again. It was impolite to stare.

Piling up a plate with a well-stuffed potato, Gaius glanced back over his shoulder at his company. The way it was hunched over its plate... it looked very small and lonely. Gaius altered his course slightly, pulling out a chair across from the lizard, and with some shuffling of his tail, sat down. He glanced over the islander with an open, friendly expression. "Hey there! You, uh... hope I'm not bothering you? Just thought it'd be nicer to sit with some company, since this place is so big," he gestured with his fork and quirked a smile.

Amaya hadn't noticed the tall islander enter until the chair was pulled out on the opposite side of the table. She looked up abruptly, her hands still remaining hidden in her lap. Though her sad look didn't dissipate even as she looked at him with her strange brown and yellow eyes.

"Oh. No. Go ahead." She said quietly, looking back down at her untouched salad and water. "Though I can't say I'm the best company right now." Her distinctly feminine voice seemed foggy, like she had just been crying - though no tears could be seen, not even a bloodshot eye.

She sat on her chair backwards, her tail being too long to sit on it normally. The girl was also nude, save for a silver pendent that hung around her neck. It was the only indication that she had even been human at one point. Not a lock of hair was left, nor a patch of human flesh, or an even remotly human eye colour.

Gaius's mood instantly shifted to concerned as the girl - at least he thought she was, from the girly voice - spoke morosely. The fact that she was naked didn't occur to him - it wasn't like she had anything to show. Somehow unconsciously, his mind registered that scales were enough when there weren't 'bits' to worry about. He just really hoped she was a girl and not a feminine-sounding lizard boy... it was impossible to tell age with that inhuman body.

"I don't like seeing girls down... are you okay? I mean, I don't mean to butt in, but if you want to talk...?" he shrugged, raising his eyebrows hopefully.

Amaya looked up at him again, her head pivoting to the side so she could see him properly. "... I dunno." She looked back down.

"I don't wanna shove everything on you - I just met you. Besides, the last time I talked about what I felt it didn't end very well." She swallowed.

"I can understand that... I mean, I'm still just a stranger, right?" He tilted his head to look her in the eye. It was kinda pretty, if disturbing to see the amount of human emotion in that animal orb. "I'm Gaius. New around here, but not that new anymore..." he chuckled.

"And hey, don't worry about dumping. Everyone needs a shoulder! I had a talk with this wolf guy the other day, and it's amazing how much better I felt. Decent fellow, and pretty patient." Gaius shoveled a large bite of potato into his mouth and continued talking around it. "Sho, what hash you lookin' so blue?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:18 pm

"Amaya." She said quietly, headbobbing in greeting and flicking her tongue to catch his scent. He must have been talking about Ambrose - the girl didn't know of any other wolves on the island.

She thought for a moment, pondering whether she really wanted to pour her heart out to this guy or not. "It's... well... a number of things, I guess..." She began, but didn't elaborate just yet.

"Amaya? That's a pretty name!" And a girl's name too! Alright, seemed his instincts were on target today!

Gaius shifted himself to lean an elbow on the table, thus getting himself a bit closer to Amaya, and thus better able to hear her soft voice. Even with his radar-sized ears, it wasn't an easy task. "Things? Like what, homework, parents, boys?" he joked light-heartedly. What else did young girls worry about, after all?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:28 pm

Amaya deflated at the mention of parents and boys. His joking voice didn't really help either. "Yeah..." She took a deep breath, yellow gaze staring down at her untouched food and water.

Seemed it would take some coaxing to get her to spill what was on her mind.

His smiling face quickly melted as he realized too late that he'd said something stupid. "Ah, um..." He scratched at the back of his neck and looked away. "Sorry, I, er, didn't know..."

Awkward silence spanned between the two as Gaius fiddled with his potato, inwardly berating himself. Finally, he sighed and set down his fork, looking back up at Amaya. "Alright, I messed up that first impression... can we have a do-over? Just forget the last stuff I said..." He leaned forward across the table until he was looking up at her, smiling hopefully. "Is there any way I can help cheer you up?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 10, 2006 7:31 pm

The lizard girl looked down at him, her head pivoted to the side so she could see him better. She sucked at her bottom lip and looked at her food again. It was rude to say that she couldn't think of anything to cheer herself up but the fact was... she really couldn't.

"... Maybe I should just go." She swallowed. "It'll just bring you down with me." She started to stand up.

"No, wait!" His hand shot out before he thought, catching her arm in an attempt to stay her, and met her sad eyes with concerned ones of his own. She was hurting, that much was clear, and Gaius couldn't in good conscience let her go in that state. It wasn't right.

Realizing he was probably being rude, Gaius let her arm go and ducked his head, flushing embarassedly. "Er, sorry... Please don't go? Something's eating at you, maybe having an ear to lean on would help? Just a little venting? If you bottle everything up, it's just going to get stale in there and start to smell bad..." he wrinkled his flattened nose slightly and gave a reassuring smile. "You don't have to worry about me, I'm made of tougher stuff. Thick skull and all," he tapped his head with a knuckle, then frowned. "Or was that 'thick skin'..."
