"Uhm...." Kara laughed a bit, "Still quite tall from the few I have met, but I'm just really short. They still retain the immortality and ears, it seems to be a trait among elves, though some of them have quite long ears," she told Ulani, "The librarian was like that," she mused again.
She began to hem the obi's hoping they would go well.

Ulani blinked. "Long ears?" she repeated curiously. "How long?"
Since of course, the Four Lands' elves' ears were really the same size as the humans' ears ... well, perhaps a little longer ... but pointed.

"Uhm..." Kara thought and used her own ear and measured a bit, "About this on him, that's about middling compared to what I've heard."
She told Ulani, thinking about it, she hadn't given much though to it overall.

Ulani's eyes grew wide, and she put her embroidery down. "You're kidding," she blurted. "That's ... wow ..."
She shook her head in disbelief and started her stitching again.

"Well..." Kara sighed with a bit of humour, "No more strange than having cat ears or a fish's body from the waist down."
She grinned at that, because it was true, there were stranger things.

"But they're entirely different races," Ulani pointed out. "I mean ... that's the most different elf I've ever heard of."
She paused. "He is fully elf, right?"
If he wasn't, that might help to explain the ears. But if so ... well then she would have to conclude that the elves of the other world were ... elves of another world. Of course there would be differences.

"I'm pretty sure," Kara replied, "that he is fully elf."
Or at least that is what Donovan had told her, but he would divugle any reason why he would say something like that.

Ulani couldn't help but laugh then. "I guess it's just so hard for me to visualize an elf who's so different from the elves I know," she mused, her needle moving swiftly. She smiled faintly.
"Perhaps you should introduce him to Elnara ... with so many different kinds of people in your world, I'm sure she would like to know some of her own kind ... even if he is a bit different."

Skye started stirring, waking from her little nap. Her wings fluttered a bit, and then she sat up and yawned. Her eyes were still a bit sleepy, and she just sat there and watched Ulani and Kara as they worked, her eyes flickering between the two as she watched them speaking.

Kara giggled a bit at that thought, "I don't know how I would introduce the two, but that is certainly an idea worth considering."
She paused for a bit thinking about it carefully.
"As long as Elnara doesn't mind."

Skye perked up a bit. "Mommy?" she asked, recognizing the vibrations for the word that other people used for her.

Ulani smiled mischievously. "I say, introduce them anyways," she laughed. "But I'm a troublemaker like that, always have been. Besides, she'll never get over her fears if she doesn't meet other elves."
She paused. "Do you know his name?" she asked curiously. Names had always been one of her mother's obsessions, and some of it had rubbed off on Ulani.

"Hmm...." Kara looked up at the ceiling to think about it for a moment, "I think they called him Lore, he has no family name that I've heard of," she nodded, "Yes, that's his name, Lore."
It was fitting somehow, that someone who worked in a library would have such a name.

Skye giggled. She recognized that vibration too!
"Lore!" she squealed, her wings fluttering excitedly, clapping her hands. She looked around, expecting to see him somewhere: but when she didn't, she stopped clapping. Her brow furrowed in confusion, and she scratched at the back of her head.
"Lore not here," she complained, frowning at Kara. "Wheh Lore go?"
