In Fatal Frame III, there are several shade-ghosts you have to fight that look very much like Erik with his mask on. That they were being summoned by a young female ghost made me think of PotO too. XP

Never played that...

In 'The Three Musketeers', there's a masked man with a red cloak and hat. For some reason, I thought that he might look a little like Red Death, only less ornamented.

Did anyone watch The Libertine? It's pretty straight forward to sexual matters. BUT ANYWHO. It reminded me so much of POTO that I had to laugh and share.

Johnny Depp plays this Earl who personally trains some unexperienced actress into the rising star of England. He falls in love with her, and writes the most audacious play (which he stars in). She betrays him somehow, and then he gets syphilis.

I dunno...I thought of Erik when I saw this.
....Nice.

I don't know if anyone's posted this already, but there's no way I'm reading all thirty pages of this thread. Anyway...

In the new version of The Pink Panther, there's a part where Inspector Clouseau walks into a hotel and there's a huge chandelier in the lobby. As soon as I saw it, I thought "Phantom!". But here's the really good part: I can't remember exactly how it happens, because I haven't seen the movie in a while, but due to the clumsiness of the inspector, the chandelier comes crashing down! Also, it's funny that there's a Phantom reference there, because my friend and I later came up with the connection that Emily Mortimer is in that movie, and she's in Dear Frankie with Gerry Butler! Who, as we all know, is the Phantom in the ALW movie. Creepy, huh?

Edit: Oh! Another thing! I read a book in which there was a character named Eric, unfortunately spelled with a C, but there was one scene in which his sister was introduced, and HER NAME WAS CHRISTINE! Also in that book there was a direct reference to Phantom, with a sort of ghost-like character saying she once dropped a chandelier near someone who liked The Phantom of the Opera. I loved that part.

Um...

From an episode of "Yes, Dear" (I don't know why I continue to watch that show...), there's a character named Christine. And this one guy, Greg, said he was called the "Phantom of the Mop-pera" or something like that in college. And his wife was like, "Oh, my god. I married the Phantom?"

Apparently he was a geek in college.

In one episode of Queer as Folk, one of the characters freaked out after he dyed his hair platinum blond and said something like "The Elephant Man looks like a supermodel compared to me....I'm doomed to lurk in shadows as the Phantom of the Pittsburg Civic Opera." As if I didn't love the show enough.

Ok, so this is what happened at Summer in the Arts yesterday:
Rory, Colin, and Kelly were all fighting over Kelly's fedora.
So Colin said to Rory, "Hey! Give me Lon Chaney!"
Apparently, he wanted to get a horror mask and look like Lon.

So we now have a fedora named Lon Chaney in the Drama class.
iono, but they're all guys. And Ace(who's a girl) is in love with the hat. She wears it on stage all day.

Erm...yeah...I'll stop now...but still...a fedora named Lon Chaney! How weird...

Well, ok, so a description of a Sim family says, "After his wife left to become a Dread Pirate..."
Remember Cleolinda's POTO in 15 when the Dread Pirates troupe dances?
I just noticed that, and my dad walked in like question

But that's a reference to The Princess Bride, is it not? The Dread Pirate Roberts.

Yes. What's important is that you see the movie. Cary Elwes is amazing! He is also awesome in Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Oh, wait a sec. *smacks self* Sorry, went off-topic.

...bwahaha! I love that movie. The woodsmen sound a little too jolly in that!

*ahem* yes, back on topic indeed.

I saw a streetsign today that said "Gala St." Which made me think of the Notes. Oddly, I was listening to Masquerede, and still managed to get it stuck in my head.

This is what I get for going nuts...

((my poor gaian is clothesless because of my gold shortage. >.<))

Well dunno if this has been listed but in highschool musical when Troy and what's his face...Corbin Blu or whoever are in the libaray they have a conversation like this:

Corbin: "Michael Crawfor"
Troy: "Huh?"
Corbin: "He was the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway 19__" (kill me for not knowing the date)
Troy: "So?"
Corbin: "My mom put his picture in her refrigerator."
Troy: "Why'd she do that?"
Corbin" I don't know! I don't attempt to understadn teh femael mind troy the point is, you become a basketball star you end up on cerela boxes, you sign on broadway you end up in my mom's refrigerator"

I was angry for him degrading my beautiful Michael Crawford. So what, he affected lives! Basktball stars don't. Lol. End of rant. >.<

Or, as a slightly altered phrase from 'Wicked', "Erik lives! Erik lives! Erik lives!"
