It's a shame no one really has time to put together an event here. We should definitely do something for the Winter Holidays.

Hey there. I've just been accepted into the guild (Thanks Errol), and have been busy reading all the rules, posting in places I'm supposed to and I think I've finally covered everything a good little guildee should do. xD
(Can I just say that the word mentee and guildee made me giggle. Especially when I first misread 'mentee' as 'manatee' for some strange, strange reason. xDD)
Anyway, just wanted to post and say hello. I'm quite a helpful and chatty person on my good days and am in a really art mode at the moment. Probably because it's fall/winter time; does anyone else find that their creative juices become more strong at certain times of the year?

Heehee... I can tell you are in a chatty mood, Tchick. That's good. Happy/talkative people are always better to talk to in my opinion.
And yes, Errol, I do think that a seasonal event would be awesome. I'm not very good when it comes to ideas, but i always love art contests, b/c I love looking at all the amazing art, and find myself wishing that I could do stuff like that. But alas, I am still learning.
I'm going to suggest the most basic and cliche thing here. An art contest. Bow before the complexity and amazing-ness of my suggestion! Just kidding. Kinda. I, personally, think it'd be kinda cool to do a winter/christmas/whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year, themed art contest. To make it fair, we could have different levels of skill, and a prize to each of them. shrug. It's an idea. 3nodding

Pleased to meet you Yuri. ^^; I am in a rather chatty mood if I'm honest. I guess it's the excitement of being in a new place. o.O;
As for the contest, I know I haven't been here long but I still think that having a seasonal event would be a great idea. It might be a good idea to do a christmas one, because generally people have more time on their hands near that period. (Christmas break and bank holidays etc.) So I think they'd be more receptive to thinking something up.
Perhaps you could do a 'create a new christmas monster' contest. It'll test people's imagination and creativity, as well as their ability to put that image down on paper. Perhaps you could make the winner's creation a mascot or something... Along with perhaps a Gaian item as a prize too.
I dunno, I just thought it'd be neat to create a christmas fairy come angel come elf come reindeer ... *cough* thing. xD

Hm, I would rather see us work together than compete. Anyone who has ideas can suggest them in the suggestion sticky. (To keep things centralized.) I'll do my best to think of something fun.

>__< told you i was bad at this sort of thing...
...the mentors could give out individual themes that co-inside with the bigger theme of christmas...
And then the mentees draw that, while stepping outside their comfort zone?

(I'll post this in the suggestion box too :])
Well, the christmas monster idea could still work. We could create a whole guild ghoul collaberation! xD

Nice.
I need to update mine. I don't get to draw as much as I'd like. *feels like he wasted his youth where he had all the time in the world to draw and no bills to pay*
Midterms are this week, but I tend to go through as many threads as I can in a week and see what I can do for people. Also, don't forget, there are plenty of tutorials and resources to check out in the sticky for them.
Edit: Also, reading through some of the mentor's threads can be helpful too. Sometimes, we have the same problems and you might find something. That and some mentors have resources posted that aren't in the main forum.
