Strife and despair make me who I am, make me a human as my parents were. I would not be me without it. You have yet to provide me with an accurate reason for me to join you." Sapphire says not backing down.

Threatens to destroy you from the inside out. And when you can no longer bear the pain of its touch, the darkness embraces you in its cool grasp, taking away your pain. If you would only open your eyes you would know that I speak the truth. You belong with me. We are creatures of the darkness."

Why do you see me as a creature of darkness? I have embraced both darkness and light in my songs and have yet to be consumed by either. Neither burned me as you believe the light does. Maybe I am a creature of simple neutrality not meant to embrace either the darkness or the light."

"Why are you so adamant to show me a creature of darkness without an explanation? I take my life slowly and I shall not speed this up either. I promise you, if you call upon the light it will burn you, but the darkness will not." *Shadows around him swirled as he spoke, rising up to his legs and coiling around them until they disappeared behind the black skin of shadows forming the guise of the jackel demon he wore so often. The darknes spread up his body, leaving only his head uncloaked behind it as he continued to speak.* "Call upon the darkness and feel its cold embrace. Feel its connection to all things."

*As the silence stretched Torret's shadow twisted and stretched in the darkness to conver the distance between him and Sapphire, probing at first at the edges of her shadow, then slowly blending with it. With the blending came a mental connection. One that he concentrated on to keep one way, so he could tap into her mind but she couldnt tap back into his. He lifts his right hand in front of him and spreads his fingers out, forcing Sapphire to copy the action as he did so.* "Then I will help you draw it out. I will show you who you are meant to be."

I won't." Tears come to Sapphire's eyes as tries to work the music from her head. She wouldn't let him succeed to this.

"Sing." *The lone word lingered in the air after it was spoken. As the command was uttered he spread his grasp on her to her voice and drew the song out of her. At the same time he delved his shadow deeper into hers to feel out her latent magic.*
