Aislinn blinked...and turned to see the gigantic dragon-creature behind her. It probably didn't help that he'd spiced up his terrorizing visage with a demon costume. She put a hand over her mouth to cover a scream, and took off in the direction of the Duplex.

Her walk was one of gingerness, but not caution- her eyes over the vast expanse of people assembled amidst the Halloween decor. Many faces, skins, animal features- were familiar to her... and others were far less so. The woman even saw a few humans, and wondered how long they had been on the island- in the village- in the 'know'. ...She had been gone a very long time.
It had only been two days since she'd been released from the labs after the kinks in her last transformation had been altered. In the meantime, she had spent time reassembling her duplex- putting together those things she had torn and shredded in her post-transformation madness, and going to try and find Lucas- who clouded memory told her might have Reuben. She remembered very little about those last few days she had spent with the man, except to groggily recall that he had taken care of her, done something for her that she could not provide herself. Emelyn had tried to find him- both to give him a heartfelt apology, and to retrieve her dog, who she knew was far from housebroken.
Her costume was one that she had assembled from bed shreds and sheets in her long-abandoned closet- there was just something too ironic and wrong about making her grand re-entry to the village in things sent to her by the labs. She wouldn't have come in a Halloween costume at all- if not for a very fond memory of the year before, when she had come in on the arm of the finest Musketeer imaginable. She hardly believed it had been a year since all eyes had been on her- even for just an instant, and she had felt some happiness, some true peace on this Hell Island. So perhaps her effort into her costume- a Scheherezade of old tales, with her flowing skirt hanging from her hips, one of her telltale bikinis sewed with some gold and blue lining to pepper it up, and a veil made from an old bit of stocking she had found in her dresser hanging from her now fully formed muzzle- was more of a grasp to that moment... a hope that a memory- could relive itself. Like so many of us, Emelyn White was not living solely in the present- but in a mixture of past, present, and future- with the hope that somehow... they could come together.

Ambrose nodded. With an apologetic toothy smile towards the younger goth, he escorted Richard with Pyroth back towards the food. After all, it probably wasn't the best of ideas to have Richard closer to other people who might be less self-reliant until he got some food in his stomach. That always helped him, at least. He hoped that the same would be for the man, despite the strange appendages.
As he walked, his ears perked curiously to Pyroth. "Gossip...? I fear I've been out of the loop since my last change..." He commented hesitantly. "Other than the inescabable announcements over the loudspeaker, at least."
He got a paper plate, and an assortment of meats, handing it to Richard before leaning against the table to address the pair of them. Despite his own enthusiastic appetite, he had just filled up not too long ago.

"Hn?" He could have sworn she'd started to say his name, but then again he could have sworn a lot of things that weren't true. It must have been something else. Zach nodded at what the cat lady was saying, it was sensible. Better than he could have phrased it, too, if enthusiastic. He started to turn back to the rainbow girl again, intending to chime in with the cat, but was met with a muffled scream. He blinked, pulling his head back a little and watched as she took off, tongue-tied.
That wasn't very nice of her...
She was quickly forgotten in favor of the girl who hadn't run away screaming. He let the hand holding his plastic pitchfork swing loosely at his side as he looked her over. "Whasss your name?"

He gave Richard a slightly lop sided grin thanks to the alcohol in his system and waved a paw dismissively "Don't take it to heart, I know you are trying, it was my own fault last time anyway. We all lose it sometimes, especially near the start of the slippery slope."
He nodded and trotted off after Ambrose, feeling as though he was floating along rather than walking, an odd sensation but one which let him ignore the fact he'd walked into one or two people's legs on the way over. As he walked he smirked "Oh I've heard some interesting things since I got here. Can't speak of them here though, not in such a crowded place."
When they got to the table, he hopped up onto his hind legs using the surface to steady himself. He too had eaten his fill earlier so was free to just chat.

"I am Ginerva," she said, her face unable to withold her excitement. She leaned up against the table behind her. "And... what is your name??" She bit her lip, surpressing a powerful giggle.

While Richard was certianlly hungry but he really didn't think his actions had been tied to hunger. It had definitly been almost a defensive mechanism. He was feeling perfectly under control now. If a little embaressed.
He accepted the plate from Ambrose with a nod and a thank you.
"Gossip... hrmmm. Well I'll be starting a project I'm not sure everyone's going to like, oh and I had a chat with Sabin a couple days ago." Richard told the two as they went and found a table.
Edit: Richard looked at the coyote with interest at the hint of a secret. He let it pass though.

Alec nodded understandably, recalling that it wasn't odd to hear of people acquiring a dislike for the Village. With all the things the Staff did, he wasn't surprised in the least that people would develop such feelings. "Am no' much me place like a used t'be neitheh. A need t'swim so much durin' th'day tha' a go to th'beach n' lake instead." He was trying to making him feel better, if not lighten the air a little.
"M'teeth? 'e pulled 'em ou', yanno." Alec responded casually to the question, long since resolved over his feelings of being maimed in such a way. A couple of weeks of slobbering on people really wasn't that bad anyways. "Theh grew back fast though, ou'd've though!" The teen smirked, not realizing this was a natural process for a shark's daily life. Distracted and losing his ability to focus from the alcohol, he continued on. "Ye come 'ere by yeself? So maneh pehple a don' neh..."

"Lo Ginerva... I'm Zach'ry," he said simply, smiling drunkenly at her. She was interesting to look at, especially with the knife and everything. Maybe she was a cat. Was she a cat? A cat person probably. The ears looked like a cat's ears. Cats... he didn't like cats much, but she seemed nice. The question escaped him, along with a very general motion of his pitchfork-holding hand at her. "Cat?"

Ambrose nodded, agreeing with Pyroth. "But... If you can catch yourself, steady yourself... and learn to make concesions to instinct that do not conflict with who you are as a person.... the things that are important to you. - then it is a process that can be dealt with. Despite how bad the situation in general might be."
Ambrose made himself comfortable after Richard had gotten a plate and a place to sit. "I... was not aware that the two of you knew eachother. But then again, like I said, I haven't been the most social of people recently." That at least explained why Richard didn't seem surprised by how 'far gone' Pyroth was.
Ambrose nodded, interested and curious at the hints of news Richard mentioned, but his attention was caught by the entry of a new person into the tent.
His ears laid back against his head and he felt distinctly awkward. It was Emelyn. He hadn't seen her.... in some time. And whil she had changed again, that was the farthest thing from his mind. He hadn't seen her in the village since almost the last time he had seen her here. He had been her date last year, his costume then very different than the comical one he wore this year. His state of mind also very different than it was this year. Seeing her in the elegant costume was a strange reminder of how much had happened since his own arrival on the island.. his reunification with Angelina.
Had she seen him? Maybe, maybe he shouldn't even touch that pandora's box with Angelina around. He shouldn't feel awkward. That had spoken since then, made up since then. But it had been a while since he had even seen her.
He'd just talk with Richard and Pyroth now. If... she decided to approach - if she even noticed him, that was her perogative.

"It is an unspeakable honor, Zachary." The subject was obviously inebriated. He likely wouldn't remember anything she said to him... She wasn't certain what to take of this thought. She could really tell him anything. Even that she had come from the labs. She could -ask- him anything. He was, after all, Sabin's favorite.
For now, she held her tongue. "No, no, not a cat." She romoved the cat-ear headband she'd been wearing. "Just a human. Perfectly content to watch all of you." She hadn't given away her position, really, by this statement. Besides, would he even understand her?

"You're with Gaius? Huh..." Marshall said, smirking, happy that his big brother 'found a girl'...Or at least, thats what Marshall put together in his own weird logic.
"Well, I'm gonna go join Amaya. Maybe grab a Cookie or some thing." Marshall said to Nita happily, grabing two more Cokes, "We're over in the corner, just so ya know!" he said to her as he went wading through the crowd of people, not paying attention to their arguments and conversations.

He nodded the affirmative to Ambrose's comment "Very true, you adapt to what's given to you while trying to keep your morals steady. It's quite the balancing act." he grinned.
"Yeah I met Richard in the cafeteria not long ago. I have been out of the village almost entirely for the last few weeks though, I'm holding a little piece of territory out along the east of the island. It's good eating and hunting."
"Project? What sort?" he was intruiged to know what sort of project would spark controversy on the island.
He totally missed Ambrose's distraction.

"Izzit?" That made sense. Kind of. He was a dragon, right? Yes and no. Yes and.... seven animals. Whatever animals they were. But he looked like a dragon, sure. Not totally, but kind of. He leaned his head to the side quizzically, then righted it when he found something else to say. "Honor t'meet you, Ginerva."
"What'd you do that for!?" he gaped. He nearly cringed when she took off the ears, as though it were disturbing. How did she do that? Wasn't she supposed to be part animal? ... Oh, human. He pointed to the ceiling of the tent. "Huh. Got a lotta people watchin'..."

Richard was cutting into his meat which was tasting quite good. "Well you now witnessed the first evidence that my brain ain't what it used to be. Before it was just the tentacles and the little arms. I can't control either of them well. Damn things nearly destroyed my duplex the first couple days. I can stop the tentacles from lashing by concentrating but with I'm distracted, well either the mirror's broken or somebody is black and blue. Other than that I was all me, until well... that." He finished lamely.
He continued chowing down, also missing Ambose's distraction. "Damn lab won't even tell me what's happening to me. Except I'm one of Sabin's 'special projects.'" Took an exceptionally large bite of steak. You can taste the bitterness.
He smirked at the coyote's interest. "Gaius and I are going to build a memorial to Fiona Brooks. Its a shame nobody's even put up a headstone. I just got a feeling some people arn't going to like the idea."
Richard was letting it out. He'd been very polite to everyone tonight and really needed to tell people about what was happening to him and how he was dealing with it.
