Keegan finished his apple, making a motion to toss away the core, but heard a "Charr!" from Loki. The Arbok had long finished his meal, and had slithered over to Keegan in hopes of snagging the rest of his apple.

"It's just the core," he shrugged, tossing it in the air. The Arbok's jaws snapped shut on it instantly, and he devoured it. Looking satifsfied, he bumped his large, hooded head against Keegan's shoulder. "You're welcome, Loki," the boy smiled, running his hand over the Arbok's smooth, scaly skin. "Let's say we go get some training in, eh? A battle or two." His team gathered around him anxiously, Artemis landing on his shoulder, Themis and Helios sitting next to each other. Althena had collected the five bowls and was pushing them across the floor, making a horrid screeching sound. "Thanks, sweetheart," Keegan said through clenched teeth, and took them from her. He set them on the counter, and one-by-one, recalled each of them before he stepped outside into the cool, early evening head.

What is with all these Pokemon I've never seen before?

"I was born ready. Nitro, Wing Attack!" Nitro ran forward, his claws scraping the floor and letting loose a rather intimidating roar. Reaching the Machamp he leapt up, whirling around and smacking it with his leathery wings. "Take that!" The Charizard cheered, not noticing he was a little too close to the four armed powerhouse.

"Come on, Nitro!" Flannery called, sitting down on a bench to watch. She hoped she wouldn't have to step in. Giovanni's Pokemon looked extremely tough. "You can take down that four-armed brute!" she called encouraginly.

Giovanni merely smirked at this, watching Machamp take the attack. The powerhouse grabbed Charizard's tail with its lower set of arms and gripped it tightly. "You know what to do," he ordered. The Machamp nodded, swinging the Charizard around in a large circle. The Pokemon tossed Nitro up into the air.

At the height of the assault, the top set of Machamp's arms grabbed the tail once more, tugging him down and throwing the Charizard into the floor. "Machaaaamp!" it laughed. Giovanni shook his head.

"Know your place, boy."

I wonder what Kasiya is doing right now? he thought as he walked, hands behind his head. Oh bah. Why do I care anyway? He sighed, making his way north, where he'd chased and pummeled that kid earlier. The thought made him smile, although he knew he shouldn't have been so rough. "Just a few punches, maybe," the boy laughed to himself, spinning in a circle so that his cape fanned out behind him. "Nobody messes with me, that's for sure." Before long, he found the road before him blocked by large rocks. They were cracked in places, but far to big to be moved by him alone.

"What's with the roadblock?" Keegan grumbled, tugging on one of them with all is strength. His hands stung a little, and he looked down to see blood seeping through the bandages on his right hand. He uttered a nasty swear word, and turned around, to see a boy, about his age and height, walking his way. "Was there a landslide or something?" Keegan asked, pointing at the wall of rocks before him.

"That's a negative," the boy responded.

"Then what the hell?" Keegan yelled back, looking irritated.

"How about we have a battle," the boy said, pushing his black hair from his eyes. "And then I'll tell you how to get past these rocks."

"Pefect," Keegan grinned, holding out his non-bloody hand. "My name's Keegan. Five on five good for you?"

"Ambitious," the boy laughed, shaking his hand. "My name is Randy. That sounds good to me!"

As Nitro was thrown to the ground he let loose a point blank Flamethrower attack aimed directly at Machamp's face. His hands pressed up against the ground, pushing him into a retalitory kick in the Machamps stomach. He staggered back, his vision a little blurry from the last attack.

Mike cheered as the two moves hit, pumping his fist into the air. "I know my place, it's between you and my friends!

Kasiya winced from the attack Nitro had just taken, covering Digger's eyes. The Sandslash was still shaking all over, it was obvious that just the presence of Giovanni was enough to unnerve the ground-type Pokemon. "It's alright," Kasiya told him softly. "I can't stand the man either." She gave Giovanni an icy look, not sure if he'd seen her or not, and she thought briefly of the woolen blanket he'd given her. She'd left it at home, just looking at it filled her with pangs of guilt.

"You'll soon learn that frienship isn't enough!" he barked out, looking at the Machamp. Its top set of arms held its face. It then let out a mighty cry, clenching all four of its fists. "Get this Charizard out of my sight!" he demanded. The Machamp ran towards the Fire-type, all of its weapons crackling dangerously with electricity.

"Let's show him a four-fisted ThunderPunch!" Giovanni commanded.

"MAAAA---CHAMP!" it cried, thrusting all four fists at Charizard.

"Prepare yourself!" Randy called, a grin from ear to ear as he sent out his first Pokemon - a Shuppet. The little ghost hovered around, doing a flip in the air and blinking its large eyes.

"Alright," Keegan blinked back at it, a little curious, although he was sure it was a ghost type. "In that case, I choose Themis! Go!" The Electrike appeared in front of his trainer, and howled, prancing back and forth on the ground.

"Night Shade!" Randy yelled, pointing at Themis.

"Spark!" Keegan yelled, pointing at Shuppet. Themis howled again and charged forward, his four paws hitting the ground as he streaked towards the small ghost, his body crackling with electricity. The electricity hit its mark, but Themis went right through the ethereal Pokemon, who cried out, but launched a dark-energy attack towards Themis. It hit as well, both Pokemon crying out in pain.

Both Pokemon were already shaken, and at about half health each. "Take it down, Themis! Blast it with a Thunderbolt!" Keegan cried.

"Try another Night Shade!" Randy called, cursing the fact that Themis was slightly faster than the Shuppet. Themis lowered his head, generating the attack. He let it go, the electric volley slamming into the ghostly Pokemon with incredible strength. It floated to the ground, defeated. "Return," Randy shook his head, switching Pokeballs after he'd recalled it. He smiled darkly, looking right at Themis, who was panting. "Let's go, Numel!"

The Numb Pokemon appeared before them, looking around for several moments before it realized it was in a battle. It looked over at its oponent, blinking slowly.

"Get in there with a Quick Attack!" Keegan grumbled, knowing well this fire/ground type mix. He'd seen more than a few hatch in his time at home, and knowing he couldn't shock it, he hoped that Themis's Static could inflict paralysis before he was taken out.

s Nitro let out s shrill cry of pain as it landed in a heap. Mike shrieked at the massive damage of the attack. "Holy crap!" He recalled his Pokemon, the Machamp's sadistic smile sending chills down his spine. "Alright, you want to play tough, I'll show you tough. Portabello, ready set?" He tossed out his next Pokemon; the eager Breloom was next in line.

Oh my, four arms. How impractical. Portabello snickered at the odd looking Pokemon, forgetting that he was basically a walking mushroom and those are far from normal by any means.

He still couldn't get over how awesome his Pokemon was, it's cute little cap and all. "Portabello Leech Seed!" Whirling around on one foot, the grass Pokemon launched a little spiked kernel at the Machamp. Brutish is he who has many arms but nary the brains.

The Electrike gave a howl, and darted forward, becoming a green and yellow blur as he slammed himself into Numel, who looked as though he didn't feel it. He looked at Themis with those dull eyes of his as the Electrike retreated back to his starting position.

"We'll show you!" Randy yelled, thankful that the Static ability had failed. "Go Numel! Dig!" The odd Pokemon spun around in a surprisingly rapid, tight circle, chunks of earth and rock flying everywhere.

Keegan grit his teeth, he knew this would hurt. A lot. "Use Quick Attack!" Keegan hollered. "Try to confuse it with your speed!" Themis gave a nod, and began to run around the battlefield, jumping over the Numel's hole and never staying in the same place for very long. His superiour speed proved to be helpful as Numel popped up from the ground, with a spray of rocks and gravel, at Keegan's feet.

Giovanni smirked. "Clearly you forget who you're dealing with?" Machamp turned and took the Leech Seed in the chest. "Attack him with Low Kick!" The Machamp ran toward Portabello, sliding down and swinging his foot across the floor, hoping to hook the Breloom and send it flying.

"Hey, it worked!" Keegan cheered, jumping up and down.

"That's a good use of Quick Attack," Randy grinned, waiting for Keegan's next move.

"Why thank you," Keegan replied. "Themis! Tackle attack!" the boy called. Now breathing heavily, and looking exhausted, Themis growled slightly, and ran forwards.

"Magnitude!" Randy called a split second later, and Numel reared up on its back legs, and slammed down with a rippling force that knocked Keegan to the ground. The Magnitude shook the earth, traveling right into the path of the charging Electrike, who was instantly felled by the super-effective hit.

"Good job, Themis," Keegan smiled, and recalled his fainted Pokemon. "Rest up."

"Oh I know exactly who I'm dealing with, a washed up old coot!" Portabello nimbley hopped up, his clawed toes pointing downward. As the Machamp slid right to him, he landed his spikey apendages right smack dab on the fighting Pokemon's foot. How's that feel? The Breloom smirked, the scent of blood lingered in the air.
