Purring softly Rikku snuggles closer into his embrace, a small smile gracing her lips at the simple kiss that somehow makes her so blissfully happy & content all at once. Her eyes flutter shut after leaving little butterfly kisses against the shinobi's arm. The only sign of when she slips into deep sleep being the gradual slowing of her purr's motor.

Naruto feels himself drift off and for the first time with no nightmares to plague him.
Morning came at the campsite and the two went through their ritual of getting up, probably kissing and then eating. Afterwards, the day seemed to fly by for the both of them as they swam, explored, kissed, ate and generally just enjoyed each others company. Evening came and with the sun set in the horizion and soon night fell over the land and the stars came out again.
Naruto can be found sitting by the campfire, humming a little, dressed in shorts and muscle shirt again, his handband off as well as his sandels. He was sad the day was over and they would soon have to go to sleep, cause that would mean come morning, they would have to pack everything up and head back home. Maybe if he was lucky, Morgana would be at the shop and he could finally introduce Rikku to his sister!

Rikku returned from putting away the last of the supper things & sat beside her best friend, just barely touching him. This weekend had been so nice... it was a shame they would have to go home in the morning. She did miss her family though, & Rikku was certain the ninja missed his. At least some of them.
Flexing her toes in the sandals of her "sleeping" garment the Al Bhed smiles softly into the fire. "We've enough wood & things left to perfectly take care of the breakfast fire. Amazing how things work out."
For once she was content to just sit there beside him. "I suppose we should go to bed soon."
As the weekend drew to a close something nagged at her that Rikku felt she had to ask. "Ruto... have you given any more thought to finding someone for you? 'Cause I've had no luck finding anyone that's even remotely deserving of you."
Rikku's tone was light & casual, belying the feelings racing around inside her. She would not think that perhaps she was disinclined to share his attentions or time; nor that she had not really been looking. Rikku had tried to imagine... but the thought had left an unhappy bitter taste in her mouth & an uncomfortable hallow feeling in her chest.

Naruto leans back as he nods, looking up at the stars in the sky. They would probably have time to get cleaned up and have breakfast before packing everything up and heading back home. Naruto yawned a little, he was ready to hit the hay soon. But he suddenly blinks when Rikku asks him that and he looks over to her, a perplexed look on his face, "Well, honestly....no I haven't! I....really can't see myself with anyone...." he says softly, turning his head to look at the fire, his heart shouting at him that it wasn't true, there was someone he could see himself with, but he chose to ignore that little voice.

A shaky half sob catches in her throat and Rikku wraps her arms around the shinobi while burying her head in his shoulder -completely unable to understand much less explain the feelings overwhelming her inside. She did not cry -she was too happy. She did not kiss him -she was too confused at her sadness. "I want to keep my promise to you. Naruto! But she's got to be perfect for you!"
Giving him a smile that was both happy & sad Rikku inclined her head to the bags. "Let's go to bed, Ruto. Or do something for a while to take our mind off of it." After bringing it up... Rikku wanted him to kiss her... not the other way around.

Naruto immediately wraps his arms around her when she flung herself at him. Was it something he said or did? Was him finding someone to love really that important to her? And even if he did find someone, he knew he would always be comparing them to Rikku, so they could never be perfect to him, though he had yet to understand why he would think that.
Deciding now would be a good time to head off to bed, he scoops her up in his arms and takes them both the sleeping back, settling them both inside. He brushes some hair out of her face, unable to resist as he places small kisses around her face, hoping she would calm down if he did so.

Calm? No. Happy? Very much so. Rikku giggles happily at the kisses & starts to purr. She strokes his loose blonde hair tenderly, but with an almost giddy undercurrent. Snuggling into Naruto she kisses him nose when one of his kisses brings it easily into the vicinity of her lips. "Both is good!" The female murmurs almost silkily.

Naruto purrs lightly as he kisses her nose as well and he finally gets to her lips and presses his against hers, murring as he wraps his arms around her to press her close, closing his eyes as his tail reachs around to wrap around her tail.

Her eyes close & Rikku melts against him with the kiss. Vaguely she thinks that it is well enough she is not standing as she shivers slightly. Her tail tightens around Naruto's. The bed in her workshop will seem awfully lonely after this weekend.

He holds the kiss the place for a few more moments before pulling back and placing a few more small kisses on her lips and her nose. He had the sudden urge to say something, but it soon passed, and he couldn't figure out what he really wanted to say. Figuring it wasn't really important, he snuggles into the sleeping back, holding Rikku tightly, "Night Rikku..." he whispers.

She gently rubs Naruto's shoulders through his shirt as they hold each other, willing him to a restful sleep. "Night, 'Ruto."
Gradually her hands massaged less & less as she fell asleep. Her breath stirred lightly against him. "Ruto I l... "
But she was asleep.
Dawn came quietly upon the sleepers, the early morning shafts cutting through the mists to light the sleepingbags with soft warm light. Rikku stirred, pouted, then snuggled into the shinobi's warmth. Watching the sunrise was nice, but she was going to stretch this particular morning out as long as possible.

Naruto scrunchs his face up when sunlight hits his closed eyes and he wiggles his nose about. He really, really, REALLY, didn't want to have to get up that morning, but if they delayed, their humans would get worried and send out a search party, probably with Nunzio leading the way since the Angelic knew where they were.
Tightening his hold on Rikku a little bit, he yawns before slowly opening up his eyes. He lets out a sigh, knowing they would only have time to eat and pack up before hopping on the hover cycle and heading home. As much as he would love to stay out here with her longer, he did miss his family, particularly his sister and he figured Rikku's family missed her as well by now.

Snuggling into him as his arms tightened Rikku murmured a muffled "Good morning." Then:
"Certainly we don't have to move just yet?" She sighed, knowing as well as Naruto that they would have to leave all too soon. "Maybe I can 'port with my Psychic Sphere? Trel speaks often of teleportation & telekinesis & things calling them psychic powers... I wonder...."
Throughout she had been speaking in a half-asleep soft tone. Now she activated her garment grid where she lay, changing out of her 'pajamas'. She focused as hard as she could, willing the remainder of the wood to leave the tent, willing the fire to rekindle, willing the pot of water to be filled & set to boil.

Naruto blinks his eyes open and stares in wonder as things seem to move about around their campsite and basically cutting their job in half. "Wow, your outfit is amazing!!! But maybe you shouldn't try to port us home, we travelled pretty far and you don't know how much it could drain you to take us that far with that much stuff!" he says, plus he really did want to wrap his arms around Rikku when they rode back to the shop.

She panted softly & yawned into his shirt. "I don't think I could, Ruto... I feel like I've run the chocobo race in the Calm Lands by foot..."
Rikku had not suspected she could feel so exhausted without moving. No wonder Trelweny slept thru the day after her empathic overload thing. It was draining.
Closing her eyes she lifted her lips to Naruto's. "It was worth it to try... so we didn't have to move yet."
