Kai helped her up, shaking his head at her words. "Are you sure you could have managed?" he smirked as he glanced back at the waves as another wave came towards them. He growled softly and the wave froze, then crumpled on itself and was washed back into the sea. He glanced back at Skylar, still trying to keep back the laugh that threatened to explode. "We could always swim? Since you're already wet. Are you used to the water too?" he added with a grin. "Or is it still cold?" He was pretty sure that the water would be comfortable for him if he entered. Since he controlled ice, he could stand up to very harsh temperatures.

[I'm so sorry!! My dad made me and my brother help him cover the boat, since we took it out yesterday. ><;;]
Kai nodded slowly and grinned at her. "I don't mind the water at all," he said and then retreated a bit from the waves. Once out of range, he slipped off his boots and socks, then shortly after, his shirt as well. He tossed it on top of the shoes and then returned to her side. "Thought I was running away, didn't you?" he teased, realizing that he'd backed off as soon as he said he didn't mind. He gently shifted the bandages on his chest and glanced at the water, wondering if the salt would sting or not. But he pushed off this thought and stepped in, letting the water wash around his feet lightly. Then he glanced back at Skylar, offering his hand again. "Ready?"

Skylar laughed, watching him the whole time. "Yeah, I did think you were running away," she said sarcastically as she watched him step into the water. As he turned and held out a hand for her, she seemed to be shocked- somewhat hesitating- to take his hand. She had reached up a hand to take it, but kept it by her for a moment longer; she didn't know why, though, she just felt like something was wrong, or out of place. She shook her head, closing her eyes, before reaching out her hand as well. "Yeah, I'm ready," she finally said, stepping up next to him, a smile on her face.

[I watched that show. xD It was mushy, lovey dovey in a lot of places. xP]
Kai blinked at Skylar, wondering why she was hesitating so much. His head tilted in confusion. Did she not trust him? The thought was horrible, reminding him of Meghan and how Sai had said they hadn't built up enough trust between her and that's why Sora had taken control after she found out. He bit his lip almost nervously, but instantly returned to normal when Skylar grabbed his hand. He tried to pretend like nothing had happened, hoping Skylar hadn't noticed. "Well, let's go!" he said, but stopped suddenly as he glanced at his long, black pants. The bottoms were already soaked by the waves, so he brushed it off and walked ahead anyway, moving slowly so he wouldn't pull her in more deeply than she wished to go.

Skylar nodded as they both started foward, but how far they'd go she didn't know, nor did she care. That feeling, though, of hesitation that she'd felt wasn't going away; why wasn't it? And more importantly, why was she feeling it? The waves calmed down the farther they went out, mostly, and it was almost fully just the expansion of clear blue water; from the sun, it seemed to sparkle and could seemingly possibly blind a person from the perfect angle. "If we knew we were going to do this, we shoudla just wore swimsuits," she laughed, being coresed by a few sways of the water.

Kai closed his eyes, gritting his teeth as the salty water washed against his chest, stinging the wound there. His hand was hurting as well, but he refused to show it. After a couple minutes, the stinging subsided to a dull ache and it was easily enough for him to overlook. He had been told salt water helped with injuries... He refocused as she spoke and smiled faintly. "Nah, I don't own one," he admitted, keeping gentle but firm hold of her hand as he saw the waves moving her with the current. He had his feet planted firmly in the sand to not risk falling over or anything.

"A present?" Kai asked, first appearing a bit startled by the idea, but then he laughed. Truthfully, the only thing he'd ever been given was his sword, and that was only after his father had died. Before then, he'd never known he even had a father. He smiled at her, still holding onto her hand. "That would be great," he laughed. He paused as she glanced down to the water, wondering at first if she wanted to get out. He blinked at her question, then waved his hand through the air as if dismissing it completely. "Don't worry about it," he nodded. "I've been through worse."
[Gah, I have to go again. Dx Very very sorry!]

Skylar looked over at him and smiled faintly. "I can imagine, but all the same... I feel bad that I forgot," she laughed softly. She took her hand from the water and traipsed it along the surface, tracing random shapes. She turned her gaze after a moment towards the horizon, seeing the ocean; how long did it go on, she couldn't help but wonder and want to know. Being in the water, she seemed yet still shorter than Kai; she felt like a mouse compared to him. J'ai petite... she thought, sighing. After a moment, she couldn't help it any longer and slipped her hand from Kai's and dove under the water, starting to swim out a little; she liked swimming. After a while, little air bubbles protruding from her lips here and there, she stopped and whirled around to see if Kai had followed, her hair just floating around her.

[So sorry! There was a thunderstorm and tornado watches so.... I had to log off. xP]
Kai just shrugged, watching her hand trail along the surface of the water and staring rather intently at the ripples created, spreading in all directions. He blinked from a short trance as she sighed, now watching her curiously and frowning as she pulled her hand away. His eyes followed her as she dove under the water, moving away from him. With a faint grin, he followed slowly after, tail flicking behind him just the same as it did above.
He moved quickly, as if he was an experienced swimmer. His home was dry, so as soon as he left, he discovered how wonderful water was and had taught himself how to swim. Back home, he'd definitely have some bragging rights for this. He blinked a couple times, the salty water stinging for a moment until he got used to it, and stopped suddenly. He floated in front of Skylar, a faint smirk across his face.

Skylar nodded her head as he caught up to her, smirking. She bobbed herself to the top, staying stationary there for a few minutes; the floor had sunk and she was now too short to stand. Damn, I am too short, she thought, shakinger her head softly, laughing. "Well, Kai, I must say," she began, "you're not that bad of a swimmer," she teased. She looked over his shoulder, and could see the beach in the small gap they'd covered. "Now that we're out here, might as well continue out," she smiled, wondering if he'd protest or agree on going out further. In truth, she knew someone was coming- she could feel it- but she didn't want to meet them at the moment.
[[and now, my other friend is applying. And, we came up with ANOTHER evil little plan :sigh: sweatdrop

Kai watched her for a moment, then came up with her to the surface. He wiped roughly at his eyes and shook his head slightly, sending a bit of water in all directions. Then he smirked at her again, peering through the hair which had fallen in his face. "Why thank you," he grinned back. "You're not so bad yourself." He nodded at her next words, adding in a small shrug. "Sure. It doesn't matter to me," he said simply. He ran a hand absently through his wet hair, causing it to stick up at random angles, even worse than usual.
[Do you think this changing siggy is better than just having all three signs there? Does it move too fast? ><;;]

[[yes, and since we've rped in other schools, it's very complicated xD my friend will come in soon, as well... she might just have to jump into the water, as well, and follow after us XD where are we heading, anyway? A small island that's just of the coast? ::makes an island::]]
Skylar laughed, swimming over to him. "You're hair is crazier than mine," she teased, lifting a hand and poking one of the weirdly angled pieces of hair. She stuck out her tongue for a moment, tasting the water that stayed on her lips before laughing a little more, turning around and diving back under the water. She sat there for a moment, though, watching a school of fish swim by her, before starting back out. Normally, she'd swim above the water, but because it was salt water and because of the waves, she knew it'd be worse if she was up there.
